If you have the chance, you should visit Old Nauvoo in Illinois. It's one of my favorite church history sites.
Loved this video! Your ability to express your thoughts and opinions while also sharing the history and facts regarding the sites is amazing! I haven't been to the St George Temple before, and this really makes me want to visit. Thank you again!

Do anything that’s not LDS. Beautiful churches and families, but heretical doctrine that doesn’t need any more exposure.

Lifelong member here, 76 years old. Your openness about your spiritual journey brings tears to my eyes. I applaud your caution. It speaks well of the seriousness you bring to the issue. Your positive experiences with the members are fairly typical, but we are far from perfect. As I look around my current neighborhood in Utah, I'm amazed at the goodness of my neighbors. However, they are not the source of my conviction that the Restoration really happened, they are just one wonderful side effect of it. The more I study the scriptures, especially with the help of faithful scholars who are all over the internet, the more I am astonished at its scope and grandeur. May the Lord continue to lead you in your spiritual journey. Much love.

30 years old here. Lifelong member as well. I am always in such awe and inspired by my neighbors around me. The goodness of the members of this church cannot be denied and though we all struggle with various weaknesses we are all united in our desire to love and better ourselves and everyone around us. I am so glad that I have my faith and community in such a crazy time of the world where so much evil infests the lands.

You’re a modern pioneer. You’re just like Brigham Young. When he first heard of the restoration he was hesitant. Many of his family and friends embraced it quickly. He took his time. I believe he studied and followed the Saints for nearly two years before his conviction was sure and he was baptized.
Like the parable of the sower you are wise. You don’t want to rush in only to face a scorching sun or choking weeds. Your ground is so very good. I’ve never seen a Protestant with such a humble heart demonstrate so much care and kindness to the Saints and our story.
You love the Lord’s temple. You proceed with caution because you want to ensure your foundation is sure before you build up your spiritual temple.
You are wise. You will yet receive revelation and vision the likes of which heretofore you have never before experienced.
Thank you for all you do.

    Hello from New Zealand…
I love that you are cautious yet curious. Both are good - I was raised in one religion, which I loved, and before I became a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I looked at 12 other religions. I’m glad I did - it helped me on my journey to the restored Church of Jesus Christ. Ask lots of questions. Then pray for direction. I wish you well on your spiritual journey.

Hey David ! My wife and I have been following your journey for some time now, and are always moved by your sincere insights into man's search for happiness. Years ago, when I was a little boy my parents and I attended a small branch in Canoga Park California. Our bishop was named Floyd Weston, a man rooted in deep faith who was also a gifted, eloquent speaker much like yourself. He had a similar faith journey as a young man durning the war when he and his friends set out on a journey to find the church of Jesus Christ. He has a recorded talk on you tube called " 17 points of the true church " It's a great talk that I think you will enjoy.
You are always in our prayers.

Great video! I made the trek from Mesa/Phoenix AZ to see the St. George temple open house with my family and my mother-in-law, in a large SUV stuffed with items for my two married daughters, who were meeting us in St. George, who would be taking the items home with them to SLC, Utah. Halfway there, my vehicle broke down and had to be towed back to Mesa that night. We were stuck in Kingman with the only car rental place in town closing in five minutes. I took an Uber to the rental agency, only to get there 10 minutes after it closed. I pounded on the door and someone unlocked the door to talk to me. They only had one car left to rent, and it would barely hold just hold the four of us, but not our luggage or items for my kids to take home. Then someone in the back had heard my plight and said that maybe I could rent a large quad cap truck that someone had purchased from them in Mesa, AZ. I could rent it, take it to St. George for the weekend, and return it to Mesa by the next Tuesday. It was indeed a miracle! We were able to fit all of our luggage, the many items for my kids to take home, and the four of us all into this big truck, and complete our journey to St. George, although we arrived much later. The next day, we all went to the St. George Temple open house with my two kids and their husbands, and one friend. This was the second to the last Saturday of the Temple open house, and as you described, there were already hundreds of people there waiting to see the temple when we arrived. I agree, the temple blew me away, and I'm a lifetime member and have seen many temples and have been to many temple open houses. The attention to detail was mind-boggling! The ornate features and furniture were simply amazing. I saw several beautiful Victorian oil lamps with side oil tanks (LED bulbs). They had decorative glass and beautifully crafted bases, etc. I did a quick Google search for a similar lamp and saw one online that was very plain looking, but it sold for $1,000! You walk through the temple and try to wrap your brain around how in the world an impoverished people built such an amazing work of art in the pioneer era? Your video is very inspiring with the detail about the hardships of the pioneers and their quest of faith to be successful. Thanks so much for sharing!

What you said today about looking to your past made me think.🤔 All the Lord asks is for you to remember. Remembering is looking at your past and what he has taught you. It is looking at how he has brought you out of captivity…much like Moses and the children of Israel. We need to let the hurt of the past go. We need to let traditions of the past go. We need to trust in him and his power to heal and lead us across our red seas and wildernesses to our promised land and liberty. We need to turn to him and follow him. We also need to do what he asks us to do. We don’t want to have empty lamps when the bridegroom comes. You are on an incredible journey. Thank you for being a peacemaker in this troubled world. Remember, the answer is always Jesus Christ. Let him teach and lead you to him.

I have been watching your videos for a while now. I absolutely love your humble and honest thoughts.
I love the St George Temple. I grew up nearby and I was married in this temple. It was one of the most defining moments of my life. I felt more than I expected to feel. Even though the temple has been remodeled and the interior doesn't have the same colors. I still recognize and remember my experiences in this temple. My Heavenly Father taught me that day in the temple these covenants are not empty words. His power to seal on earth is real and it is there in these temples.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts so beautifully.

Love the Elder Bednar story. Kind of like the Bridegroom coming at a time you don't expect. By the time we fumble to find our lamp and light it (find our phone and take a snap), the procession has passed, and we missed the moment. Don't miss your moment.

David, I LOVE your sincerity, and honesty about your journey. You're willing to be vulnerable, willing to listen to others - my experience going along with you on your journey... it's been really refreshing, and I must say... inspiring! Your focus on Christ is awesome - it strengthens me.
I am a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints... a former missionary, etc. You mentioned that people have encouraged you to join the Church. You probably have guessed, that this is motivated by a desire to share the blessings they've received from membership. Sometimes, some members get too overzealous in my opinion... maybe pushing a little too hard. It can feel more like "peer pressure" than genuine ministering, even though it's usually not meant that way. In my view, there's no need to be anxious about the decision to join the Church - it's too important a decision. Gaining a testimony of the truthfulness of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is critical to making a covenant with the God of the Universe - our Creator. Each person comes to the Lord with their own set of past experiences - those cannot be discounted, and must be respected when helping another person on their path. I believe, that with your honesty and goodness, and your desire to follow Christ and the Spirit he sends to guide us, I truly believe you're going to find the answers in the time that's right for you, so there's reason for a joyful journey here.
You've mentioned some really cool occurrences (such as the cardinals, and your ancestors' membership in the Church). These very well may be signs from the Lord - that is for you to decide. When all is said and done, in my mind there's only one question -- is it ACTUALLY TRUE... and how can I KNOW IT. I am a witness that, while each person receives their answer in very different timing, if one follows the steps the Lord has outlined...
1.) First, remember how merciful God has been unto the family of Adam... and ponder that. Remember that he answers prayers
2.) Ask God in the name of Christ, if these things are not true. We must ask with...
a.) a sincere heart (truly wanting to know)
b.) with "REAL INTENT" - (meaning with complete intent to follow the answer we receive from him)
c.) and with FAITH in Christ (which I believe you sincerely have)
...If anyone will do these things, our Eternal Father WILL manifest the truth of it unto us by the power of his Holy Spirit. HE WILL - I am a witness of it my brother. And by this same process, we can discern between all truth and falsehoods placed before us. I, like you, have many troublesome abuses from the past that can cause me to hesitate... to be concerned about possible future hurt. In my experience, I've found that reorienting my focus to faith that Christ will not let me fail as long as I stay focused on Him is what fulfill's the steps above - it's the encapsulating step. You can go at your pace - Heavenly Father will work with you. I joyfully pray for you in this process.

You are clearly doing all you can to follow the path the Lord has laid before you. It elevates us all.

"The box". But it's the fruit, Jesus, that is truly the end goal. Look towards the fruits, not the box. You can stull visit other churches and have a channel. Love you brother.

My husband and I are from CA and we drove though St George on our way up north and we were able to go to the St. George temple open house as well. It would have been awesome to run into you and meet you.
I just want to point out some of your quotes that seem to run parallel with your experiences of two hard relationships of the past, two past experiences with churches, and now looking into this third church.
    "Both had failed."
"If you do a third one, will this be right?"
    "That one WAS right."
""They were questioning the foundation and it worked out."

I'd say don't "join the church" but fellowship the church and bring Christ with you in doing it. Investigate it more and lean into the direction you feel from Jesus. If he directs you to become baptized into full fellowship, then do it-- not to become a member of a church but to come closer to Jesus Christ through that instrument given to us to do so. I really appreciate that you seem to be doing just that- going to your local church more consistently not knowing where it will go. This is how testimonies are built and what you are doing is a great example of faith.

You did a great job thank you for the video. My 91-year-old mother believes that birds are messengers. When her husband died there was a bird that came into her yard at her back window for almost a year that is not common where she lives in Oregon. And she has not seen one like it since tjay year. If birds can be Messengers in the Old Testament to Noah and others why not with us.

Everyone speaks a different language that's unique to us and that's the personal relationship we have with God, he knows our language and he speaks it fluently. For those with eyes to see, it was no surprise to anyone, I don't think, and I don't think anyone would call you crazy, that with your stories with Cardinals, that's your own personal language. It's a recurring instance, I think, where God is communicating ONLY with you and you're identifying that. It's possible that you think that YOU are crazy, and maybe you just don't understand it yet. You're a Bible believing Protestant, read your Bible and you'll see just how much God communicates through symbolism. A single symbol can speak more words than the entire Bible contains, probably ALL of the standard works. I don't think you're crazy, don't think of yourself as crazy. It was readily apparent from the getgo when you told your story of the Cardinals that God's speaking. I think those around you can see it but it's not for us, it's for you to recognize and identify and put the pieces together for yourself. I don't know if it means someone is there other than God trying to talk to you. Don't be afraid to tell your stories of Cardinals. OWN IT! Embrace it, it's a way God is talking to you and he's using symbolism, the language and dialect you speak.
I would also add that over the while, there's been a lot of individuals such as yourself doing some sort of exploration of the Latter-day Saint faith. Mormon Book Reviews and Hello Saints are probably the ones that stick out the most, but, honestly, they just feel like cash grabs. A different kind of collection plate. Jeff McCollough, his background is in filmography and editing so he has a lot of flash to his presentation and all, and Mormon Book Reviews, he just seems like he knows the direction he's going is right and he wants to feel part of the club, but he's stubborn and just won't let go of tradition and accept that he agrees with it.
You're a simpler man, David. I would argue a much more open-minded and humbler man whose willing to accept and acknowledge light and truth. Don't confuse that with being ignorant or gullible or any other symptoms you can think of, I believe you when you say you're on a spiritual journey. You want to receive light and truth and you're willing to accept whatever is really out there, wherever that is. I think you're much more genuine than the others. If you have a collection plate of your own, I wouldnt know, but if you did, I could accept that versus the others. Jeff McCollough isn't, I grew tired of his song and dance a long time ago, it's a sham in a shroud and it's deceitful. You don't have the flash that he has so some might not look twice, but as introverted as you are and with him making the move that direction, I think it'd be cool if you got to spend some time with David Alexander and Greg Matsen. Matsens a really deep intellectual and is trying to make his ties more and more with Jeff McCollough I thought would be a good move, but McCollough just isn't genuine. But, there's a lot similar to you I think you could learn a lot from and benefit from. I've told David Alexander he needs to hang with you and the two of you have a conversation so.....
Sorry this is so long but, if nothing else I've said, I just feel you're more genuine and humble and open and you're going to learn at a much faster rate, than let's call your competition. And, don't let go of the Cardinals. It could hold more sacred value in the time to come, where you don't share that as much because it's a personal and sacred communication or revelation (believe it or not) you receive from God and that's what the temple is for pretty much everyone. When they're trying to figure out life's questions and mysteries or making huge decisions in life, they go to the temple and after all the work is done and they have time to sit and meditate in the Celestial Room, the world Embassy for heaven, they sit and God talks to them through personal revelation. Some people I know, the veil parts and they see loved ones, or sometimes they can hear them like they're standing right at their shoulder. Those Cardinals are for you and you know what it is and whose telling you through that means, but only you really know and will figure out what that means. To those whom have had similar experiences, they'll smile and say "I know what you mean" and have figured out what that means but, in your journey or searching and learning, those Cardinals are your brass serpent, or a personal Liahona. You're learning.

I go to the temple to make covenants with Christ. Covenanting with Christ demonstrates your thorough commitment to Him. This is the difference between Christianity and the Latter-day Saints. It is in the covenants we make with Him in baptism, which we renew through the Sacrament weekly at church, which is likened to the temple, which we remember daily by our wearing the Temple garment. The authority to partake in the baptismal ordinance was given by the Angel John the Baptist to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdry. Authority is important to the Lord, if you’re curious about that, just ask Him.

Thank you for sharing your journey brother, just listen to that inner prompting that nobody can hear but you. It may not make any sense just listen to it anyway. I have been a memeber my whole life i cannot count the amount of times God prompted me to do something that didn't make sense. Even now im living through it again. Listen to your heart bro.. You have to let go of any need to explain your way through it nobody else has to understand but you. We dont know you brother but we all love you, we appreciate you sharing your journey its really enjoyable .. Between you and God brother just listen to what you know you need to do the way you have been. It will work out no matter what happens you can tell God at the end you did what you truly thought and felt was right.

Thanks for the video and your take on all of these experiences you're having with the church, it was very refreshing to hear your thoughts. It put me in a better mood after coming home cranky after a long day at work. Anyways, your thoughts on not looking back stuck with me because I was having these same thoughts this past Sunday. Laman and Lemuel in the BOM complained quite a bit about going back to Jerusalem, and we all know how that all ended. The past can be a major hindrance to us or it can be a wonderful blessing. A quote that comes to mind about that is from Dostoevsky from his Brother Karamazov. "You must know that there is nothing higher and stronger and more wholesome and good for life in the future than some good memory, especially a memory of childhood, of home. People talk to you a great deal about your education, but some good, sacred memory, preserved from childhood, is perhaps the best education." We can all use a little more Dostoevsky in our lives. lol

The Kirtland and Nauvoo temples served very important and sacred purposes wherein much was revealed and preparations made for the western exodus. The Nauvoo temple wasn’t to be left to the mobs who drove the settlers out yet again. Nauvoo was originally a swamp! My husbands great grandfather served in the temple presidency and participated in those vicarious ordinances for those who claimed to have laid the foundation for this work, and later as a temple president for St. George and Manti temples.

The Napolean canon info was amazing. I had never heard about that before. I guess we can say how firm a foundation if it can withstand a canon ball. ;P And it was interesting to learn how that canon came into the church's possession. I wonder if we still have it.
I loved the spirit I felt throughout this video. You seem to have a sincere heart and love for the Lord. We strongly support that you should only move forward when you feel it is the right thing for you to do. Whatever you decide we will still love and appreciate you for your kindness and faith. As trustworthy as I've always found the members of the church to be, we're not perfect. You may not always be able to trust in man, but you can always trust in God and his holy spirit.
In the gospel we believe God calls servants to fulfill his purposes here on Earth. Each person who recieves and fulfills a calling or ministering assignment is serving the Lord and his children which blesses each spiritually and temporarily, helping us to have a closer relationship with God, our families, and others around us. The gospel helps us change on the inside which then helps us to have more peace within and strength to resist evil and do good things. The love in our hearts increases. This is God's desire for us because he knows this is where real joy is. And we believe the greatest things that help us to change is the sacrifice of Jesus Christ which paid the price for our sins so we can repent, the Holy Spirit, scriptures and words of the prophets, help from our Heavenly Father as we pray, make covenants with him (and for our ancestors/relatives by proxy in holy temples as you know), and try to keep his commandments. We are also encouraged to gain knowledge or an education for wisdom and to improve our lives, the lives of our families, and the world around us.
It's really all about love for God, love for our families, and love for all others. This is the gospel in a nutshell.

I just loved how you chose to use events from the scriptures as similes to how your past is influencing your present and the issues you have to deal with. I agree with you about the purpose of looking back -- it is to observe and remember the times we saw God's hands in our lives and use that as a basis of trust going forward. Most of all though, as you so rightly said, there is no past event more important so look to than the life and atoning sacrifice of the Savior. Whatever your journey needs to be, the Lord will guide you along according to whatever specific puzzle-pieces you need to find and in the way you need to find them. In 2 Nephi 31:3, Nephi declares: "For the Lord God giveth light unto the understanding; for he speaketh unto men according to t-h-e-i-r language, unto t-h-e-i-r understanding." (I added the emphasis)

Keep the Savior as your foundation. I don’t believe He has a denomination for his church, but rather his church is composed of his true believers. Even the Book of Mormon states there are only two churches-that of Christ and that of the devil. You either believe in Him or you don’t. I am really intrigued by the cardinals, though, and all these signs you are getting. Only you’ll know what they mean, but considering the Book of Mormon is the common denominator between the various LDS sects, I kinda wonder if it’s a hint to the read the book? Have you read it yet?

The Savior appeared in the Kirtland Temple and taught the Prophet many truths of the Kingdom. The Saints received their endowments in the Nauvoo Temple, which gave them the spiritual power they would need to walk 1500 miles to the west.
Neither temple was a failure. Both were built out of obedience and the Saints and were richly rewarded. They were always meant to travel west to the tops of the mountains.
Perfection is a process, not a place.
My dad was born in the church but I wasn't. I was drawn to the church as a small child and was allowed to join at age 13. I suspect that my pioneer ancestors had a lot to do with it. You may be receiving promptings from your faithful ancestors as well.

Lots wife looked back because she was sad to leave it. We cannot move to where God wants us when we keep looking back at what he is telling you to leave.… it’s like keeping one foot in Babylon. Salt is needed to make things more vibrant… however if we get too much like say a “pillar of salt” then we become bitter.
Most people miss the lesson with his wife because they focus on why God would do that to her… just because she looked back… but the real truth is she did it to her self. When God is telling you to get out of what you previously knew because he has something better that will save you from destruction you get to choose if you let go of everything you once knew and embrace what he has in store for you fully or become bitter… stuck.
🥹Join the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my dear brother… and don’t look back. It is true and clearly God is moving you to this understanding.

Cardinals are relatively rare in her part of the country, but she was visited by a cardinal that landed on her hand for a few minutes before taking flight again. David, you are doing the Lords work on this channel. I’ve followed you since before any of the LDS episodes and was hoping somehow you’d attend at least one ward. I was excited when you did and was impressed with your fair treatment. I’m sure it’s obvious by now that the LDS community loves you and recognizes the good you continue to do. Any church would benefit from having you in their membership. Any ward in the LDS faith would greatly benefit with you in its membership. For many LDS converts there is a huge lifestyle change. On my mission I literally saw a drunkard living in the gutter in Belfast give up all his sins to Jesus and commit to follow Him, that was a huge change for Billy. You on the other hand are already living the teachings of Jesus Christ and have taught many of us on here a lot of great lessons. In a world of darkness, you are a shining light. Lots wife did look back because she wasn’t ready to completely leave her old life behind. On the other hand, if you listen closely to the sacrament prayer next time you attend “ your ward” you’ll notice the word “ remember” is used. So yes, we are encouraged to look back to our savior Jesus Christ and remember Him. I believe that your foundation is much like the St George temple, it’s obviously been shored up and built very well. I love the advice that we get from the apostle Paul. 1 Theselonians 5:21 Prove all things, hold fast that which is good. Keep up the good work, we all wish the best for you and already looking forward to your next episode.

I just watched this on TH-cam and I can relate to what you’re saying. My background was a bit different but my journey took me to many Protestant churches before learning more about the LDS church. I became a Christian at 25 after being raised Jewish. I am going on 60 and found so much of the love of Jesus Christ consistently throughout the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints than in so many of the other churches that I previously belonged to. I’ve seen the love given to even estranged members of the LDS church which is how I happened upon this church. I became a member on July 19th, 2021 and am so thankful to Our Heavenly Father for leading me here. My faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ has grown so much more deeply and the love, care & support that the church extends to each other is truly how, I believe, that Our Savior set the example for us to follow. I am grateful every day for this and it has really changed my life.
It took me a while to come to believe as they do, but I do see it so clearly now. Faith❤

David! This was great. I wanted to share some similarities I have with you, in a way. My dad was the only one in his family who joined the church. He was in his mid-twenties when he joined and found out (or may have known) that his great-grandfather, Daniel Seaman, was a member of the early church. He had even been called by Joseph Smith to serve a mission to New York back in the 1830s. While in New York his wife became very ill and he had to take his family back to Canada, where she died. When he finally made his way back to Nauvoo it was after the martyrdom of Joseph Smith when all those splinter groups were taking off. He didn’t know who to follow and ended up going up to Beaver Island after Jessie Strang (the Strangites!) but found out after getting there that it wasn’t what he expected. He took a boat off the island of the Strangites and ended up founding Drummond Island, Michigan. Anyway, that family lost connection with the church until 4 generations later when my dad joined. And thanks to my dad, I was raised in the church and got to serve a mission! So I was the first in my family to serve a mission since the first Latter-day missionary of our family, Daniel Seaman. And my dad has been able to do all the temple work for his ancestors going back to Daniel Murray Seaman (and even further back). What an incredible blessing it has been!
Also, I have had some significant spiritual events in my life symbolized by birds. Not to the extent that yours are, but I definitely recognized that the Lord was confirming a spiritual truth to me with the visit of birds. It’s not weird at all! Though, probably rare. I have loved your videos! Keep it up!😊😊😊

David! Just finished watching this video. As always, I can tell you’re allowing the Spirit to guide your steps towards finding your spiritual “home.”
So many of us who have joined the church come from other faith traditions and have been thru a similar journey and like you, had signs along the way that guided us “home.”
I especially love your temple tour videos because it reminds me of when I first discovered the beautiful purpose they serve…Currently, I serve in my ward as the Temple and Family History Leader and teach a Temple Preparation class. All that we do in the temple points us towards our Savior, Jesus Christ!
All I want to say to you as a brother in Christ is, ALWAYS let the Spirit of the Lord guide your steps… even when you don’t understand it… The Spirit will teach you and guide you! Stay open and humble to Him and He will keep revealing himself to you, line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little. And btw, there is great purpose in honoring our past, because it prepares us for what He has in store for us in the future! Love you Bro, thank you again for keeping it all VERY real!!! 👍🏼😇

    Hi David,
My ancestors were called to settle the St George area and they helped with the temple. My Great grandparents lived just a few blocks from the temple, and we could see it from their home. When we visited, I always loved taking pictures of the temple through the trees from different angles. It's so strikingly white and beautiful. I love the contrast of the temple and the surrounding hills. The St George Temple is very important to me, and it was where I chose to receive my own endowment, even though I grew up in California. Family history is very important to temple work. Our ancestors do get our attention in various ways. I testify to you that they absolutely do. I suspect those cardinals are even more of a sign than you realize. Keep your mind open and your heart humble. The Lord is drawing you to the truth. Whether you ever choose to join the church or not, your experiences learning about it and studying will bless you so much. You have so many LDS friends (many of us who you've never met) who will support you along the way, no matter what you choose. You are the most genuine TH-camr I know of. I'm so grateful for the tremendous work you've done. It's blessed me and so many others! I've had fun sharing things from your channel with my family as well. Much love! Keep the videos coming!

Our ancestors were probably neighbors!!! William Carter helped with the first plowing in Salt Lake and then helped with the temple in St George, I have a map of their plots of land. I’m curious where he was in relation to your pioneer family and their plot of land. Jeffrey R Holland also calls William Carter his great great ? Grandfather. Our (all pioneers) history is so neat!

I'll have to ask my mom what their address was. I know she will remember.

David - As my wife and I prepare to serve our sixth mission for the LDS church, I would like to make a few suggestions. It is more important for you to gain a spiritual testimony of the church than a physcial testimony. A physcial testimony is using all the facts and connecting all the dots that make the church true. A spiritual testimony is you have prayed and the spirit has told you the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Kingdom of God on the Earth. Something can come up and shake your physcial testimony that will bring doughts about the church. But if the spirit has confirmed that the church is true that can not be shaken. Many people gain physcial testimonies then fall away after something is brought up, but most of the time tis not true, and it shakes your faith.
I don't know about seeing the cardinals. What if you joined the church then quit seeing cardinals would that mean the church must not be true. I would concider you to be a luck person to found the church and have spent the time learning more about it. Most people just shrug it off after the first introduction. You can try to find out about everything and study like crazy, talk to a ton of people and so on - or you can pray to find out that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Kingdom of God on the earth and everything else is true.
Love watching your videos and the things you are finding. The Church is like the box that hold the peral inside. The church is great but you will find the Savior inside that church.
I know the church is true, the Book of Mormon is true, there are Prophets and Apostles on the earth again, Russell M. Nelson is God's prophet on the earth today. In the Name of Jesus Christ Amen.

David, you have all my respect. You do well to take your time when considering your path. When the time is right you will know what to do. I have been a member 37 yrs now, so of course my thoughts are with the church. I am the first member of my family. My mom was adopted. A few years ago... DNA testing found that birth line... my blood line ancestors joined the church in Joseph Smith time. They knew him, they crossed the USA, settled in Utah... the pioneer stories that were kind of far to me are super close to me now. I could go on for hours on this topic... All the best to you. Keep it up.
