I freakin' love this game. Found out about it by accident on MAME, and its become one of my top five of shumps. I just love the presentation, gameplay, and cinematics of it.
Awesome run! Played this in the arcades while stationed in Japan in 2001. In one of my runs of the game I scored over 14 million points without losing a life.
You can only imagine how happy I was when I found out that the black plane that's been a pain in my ass throughout the game was actually the final boss. I was ready to rip that plane's wings off but it was no pushover.
This has got to be my favorite arcade game of all time. I had a chance to put together my own vertical cabinet out of an old busted Astron Belt cabinet to satisfy my bloodlust for shmups and this was the first board i bought along with a marquee. I matched the button and stick colors on the machine to match the character player colors in 19XX. Dropped in an LCD monitor with a gonbes cga>vga adapter and new jamma harness. Did all this work just to be able to play this game on an actual arcade machine. It's a shame that this game was never released on a home console, a port to the sega saturn or dreamcast would have been awesome.
got it.. so all you have to do is to kill the boss quicky to get a rank-S worth 50,000pts. Then get an accuracy of 100% to get 5 stars also served as level ranking by killing all enemies in non-boss/minions mode.. the importance also of a medals for additional bonus points. the computation is, your rank + all of medal rewards X your current level is your bonus points after clearing the current stage...

The train boss (Sancho Pedro) is my favorite from all the 8 bosses of the game. Its so creative

@@lancecurry7538 I don't think vanilla Battle Garegga are possible to no-miss. Premium mode of PS4 ver has fixed rank of each stage btw.

You are better player than Replay Burners in this game.
Replay Burners are very average in general.

It's pretty big. This is not really a game where you dodge things.
Just to clarify, you said that you use a Saturn pad? How did you get it to work with your computer?
