I bought Dylan blue blind, and as soon as I gave the first spray, I immediately got hit with a deodorant vibe. Maybe a nice deodorant, but still… a deodorant. A few minutes later, my wife came close and, with a look of disgust, asked, "What did you put on today? Smells like Degree for Men." Really disappointed… guess it’s not as crowd-pleasing as I thought. I’ll give it a few more days in different situations, but it really doesn’t seem to be for me. My first blue fragrance… maybe I’m just not a blue fragrance kind of guy.
Disclaimer 5. It’s almost impossible to judge performance without getting input from your friends or family members for a few reasons. How can you judge projection on your own? Also I find some scents I go nose blind to faster than others and I think the performance maybe sucks but then someone around me tells me they can smell it still from a distance
You’re right. Me like most people thought that YSL Y Edp didn’t last. Til 6 hours later i walk into a room and fill it with scent according to the people there. I was on like 3 sprays and could not pick it up. Yet i was getting noticed.
especially with blue fragrances that tend to be ambroxan bombs. many people quickly go nose blind from ambroxan so they think it only lasts 2 hours while other still smell it 8 hours in.
I find Luna Rossa Carbon to have 0 projection at all. In fact the past 2 times I’ve worn it to date night my girlfriend has mentioned she’s surprised I’m not wearing any fragrance. I kept it in the car and sprayed it 3 more times and we both agree we can’t really smell it unless we put nose to the shirt collar. The scent on skin seems to disappear for me.

Admittedly I probably should have just asked her when we were at my place one day about projection instead of this social experiment 😂

i'm a big fan of Luna Rossa Ocean scentwise. I'd have ranked it towards the top by smell. Performance is not a concern of me. Regardless i like it more than Carbon too.
Dylan blue and Rasasi hawas my 2 favorite blue fragrances. I also have Halloween man hero and acqua assenziale blue but I really don’t like them. I think it’s the lavender. I don’t know what it is but I don’t like lavender. Lol and I also don’t like the powdery smell and earthy smell in acqua.
For me first is the likeness of scent then performance wise: 1- BDC Parfum -6 hrs on skin 2- YSL Y EDP - 7 hrs on skin 3- Ver. Dylan Blue - 6 - 7 hrs on skin 4 - Acqua essenziale blu - 5 hrs on skin 5- Luna rossa carbon - 4 -5 hrs on skin. Sauvage almost finished won't be buying another bottle instead Sauvage Elixir is my fav. all weather Sauvage now. Rasasi Hawas is very long lasting (8 hrs) but not fan of the annoyingly earthy scent it's not a blue scent to my nose. If anybody entering new in fragrances should start with Versace Dylan Blue as their first blue scent then BDC EDP or Parfum.

Sedley is so weird for me. To my nose it smells like a fizzy pepsi cola in the opening. I can't get over that vibe and I don't wanna smell like that. My personal favorite "blue" fragrance is the OG Coach for men. It smells amazing to me and last 8-10 hours on my skin.
🤘🏼 100%, by definition "Coach" For Men is one of the All-time greatest blue fragrances to exist. Frag snobs will mock it for being safe and mass appealing but that's just what some people want. And it smells phenomenal and I've never heard anyone say it's anything less than an extremely pleasant scent.

Not every occasion, what about when I want something boozy bad boy to wear? Or during fall and winter when I might want a sweeter fragrance punching with vanilla and cinnamon for example. I agree you could get by with those but I personally like a bit more variety in my collection.

Good list the best of the blues from each line. I do wish I purchased the Bdc Parfum over the EDP but I don’t mind the EDP either. The Parfum is just creamy deliciousness in the dry down! You wear the dry down not the opening.! Ysl y EDP is amazing and so is Sauvage EDP! Rasassi hawas a summer stunner along, PDM Sedley!
It really is amazing how we all differ with performance. Uomo urban feel lasts like 2-3 hours on me BDC edt I get 12-16hours Prada carbon 8-10 easy 🤷🏻♂️ Crazy, but keeps it interesting & unique to us as individuals
I highly recommend trying to get elixir as quick as possible before they reformulate! I have the og batches the first batches and it’s nuclear 16+hrs and can go for more

I have a 125ml bottle of deep blue parfum and yes scent is great, little powdery and it has this great mango note but sadly perfomance is poor to maybe avarage at best and projection is weak I don't know why people say it has a great performance 🙍♂️ I am still on the lookout for a long lasting blue scent I want to try dylan blue 200ml bottle but again I'm worried it is just a myth about it's longevity

Skip the Ferragamo blues. They do not last, especially Subtil. Dylan Blue is only $45 for 100ml right now. If you want "different" try L'Homme Rochas. Missoni Wave was a good pick but the hype machine has driven the price up to over $50.
I don't think that something that performs great on one person cam perform terribly on another It can perform not so great but still should be solid. It can't be such a huge difference if we're using the same juice
Acqua Essenziale Blu is my ALL TIME FAVORITE blue scent. I bought it not really expecting much, but it is absolutely FANTASTIC. It smells like a fragrance worth four to five times as much, and I cannot possibly recommend this one too much. And it's so cheap! Anyone who reads this, trust me, it's absolutely incredible and smells beautifully balanced.
Where i live in , the Acqua Essenziale blu is around 56$ & Prada luna rossa Carbon is around 67$. I am really confused between the two . It’s going to be a blind buy (decant price is not worth it) but i think Acqua essenziale is really priced a bit higher at my place.

I love the Y Le Parfum over the EDT and EDP. I think they're all really nice, but the subtle darker mature twist of the Le Parfum made it my choice of the three.

Sedley is really interesting to me in the way that there's nothing unique about the notes or combo thereof, but it smells like nothing else I've ever smelled. Same thing with Byredo Bal d'Afrique.
bdc parfum has a good longevity, but the projection is like 20cm for 20 minutes. Terrible. Even in dates the girls couldn't smell it on me (6 sprays). And yes, my bdc parfum is 100% original.

One of my most complimented in my 100+ collection & that says a lot considering I ONLY wear it in the fall. That 3.3oz I got was 99% full & I wouldn’t resale it for $500
Most Parfums de Marly stuff is really underwhelming and overpriced, and yeah they don’t last at all, I tried Layton AND Sedley and I didn’t get more than 3 hours from both, while a $15 fragrance beat both in smell and performance and stuck to my clothing for like 2 days even after washing.
The only (fresh/blue) PDM who perform the best (and smell the best with a lot of compliments) is Percival. Herod and Layton I own is disapointing and a waist of money. After 4 hours an ordinairy vanilla scent.
The fruitiness Inn rasasi hawas is amazing. Atomizer is great. Sprays out a lot of juice. it has Invictus aqua beat. The quality is better. I get 12+ hours depending on the day and what I’m doing. I love performance. How many sprays do you do?

Dylan blue is great, but projection and longevity is terrible, lasts no more than 2 hours, you have to really overspray it to get any kind of good performance.
I get what the reviews call beast mode performance from Dylan blue. Wore it out on new years and had a group. A women going nuts about it at the bar 4 hours later.. My wife coukd still smell it in her truck 3 days later. Hell I'll wear a hoodie 2 days in a row and I can still smell it on my skin after running the insides of my sleeves. Guess what thry say is true what performs great in one may bit in thr next
I found that it's easy to go noseblind on it. I think that I had oversprayed it, on my first night with it on. My business shirt still had 1-2 foot of projection, after walking past it while it was on the hanger, 3 days later. Then again, I did layer it with Molecule 01 too.

YSL Y is my fav fragrance rn, it’s so versatile and it lasts all day on my skin. Definitely save your money and buy it 100%

My favorite is Y EDP and hawas. Both smell very similar, imo hawas has a more watery aquatic feel and the plum brings a different fruity edge.

Prada LR Carbon last forever on my skin and has great projection over several of the ones mentioned except for Hawas.

I think Coach Platinum should have been included vs. Prada Luna Rossa Carbon. Better price and scent IMHO.

bdc parfum has a good longevity, but the projection is like 20cm for 20 minutes. Terrible. Even in dates the girls couldn't smell it on me (6 sprays). And yes, my bdc parfum is 100% original.
Thats why I gave it away and got BDC EDP.

I get what people call Sauvage EDP blue but it doesn’t come across that way for me.

One of my most complimented in my 100+ collection & that says a lot considering I ONLY wear it in the fall. That 3.3oz I got was 99% full & I wouldn’t resale it for $500

The older batches really performed but the recent batches are not worth the price, Not for YSL Y Edp atleast .The Reformulation ruined it.

Most Parfums de Marly stuff is really underwhelming and overpriced, and yeah they don’t last at all, I tried Layton AND Sedley and I didn’t get more than 3 hours from both, while a $15 fragrance beat both in smell and performance and stuck to my clothing for like 2 days even after washing.
The only (fresh/blue) PDM who perform the best (and smell the best with a lot of compliments) is Percival. Herod and Layton I own is disapointing and a waist of money. After 4 hours an ordinairy vanilla scent.

The fruitiness Inn rasasi hawas is amazing. Atomizer is great. Sprays out a lot of juice. it has Invictus aqua beat. The quality is better. I get 12+ hours depending on the day and what I’m doing. I love performance. How many sprays do you do?

I have the Sauvage EDP and there's no projection whatsoever plus the scent only lasts about 4-5 hours max. I don't know, maybe it's just me?

@@jasonyoung9329 I have to agree with @joshgarcia; however I think they are good in almost the same situations, so if you want to save a buck I would wait until one bottle is low so you can buy the other then do a daily side-by side.Or maybe even buy a decant.

Its all subjective, i personally think edt is a bit too harsh while edp is smoother and more refined

Dylan blue is great, but projection and longevity is terrible, lasts no more than 2 hours, you have to really overspray it to get any kind of good performance.
I get what the reviews call beast mode performance from Dylan blue. Wore it out on new years and had a group. A women going nuts about it at the bar 4 hours later.. My wife coukd still smell it in her truck 3 days later. Hell I'll wear a hoodie 2 days in a row and I can still smell it on my skin after running the insides of my sleeves.

I found that it's easy to go noseblind on it.
I think that I had oversprayed it, on my first night with it on.
My business shirt still had 1-2 foot of projection, after walking past it while it was on the hanger, 3 days later.
Then again, I did layer it with Molecule 01 too.
