Yes he certainly was. Probably the greatest civil engineer the uk has ever had. So much of what he designed/built is still in use today and will last forever.
Such a shame that modern engineering does not compare. A new house in Aus comes with a whole 7 year guarantee 🤦♂️🤣
Learning about this bridge has probably been my favorite videos on objectivity. Even from here in Canada I find it incredibly interesting to learn about England and the rest of Great Britain's past. Thank you for all of the entertainment and knowledge you provide us with Brady throughout all of your channels.
That peep egg looks like something that would have taken a lot of time to make. Neat.
I'm watching this video for the first time exactly 190 years after that first document was released; after being binge watching the channel for 2 days.
I remember the scandal that precipitated the use of the automated barriers opened by tokens - they discovered a large discrepancy between the number of cars crossing and the number of tickets being issued. The toll collectors had very deep and strong pockets to take home half the tolls they collected!

That the photographer was able to bring all of their equipment up to the top of that tower to take that picture of the deck of the bridge while in construction is quite a feat, indeed!!

Loving these videos, what is a cradle in relation to the bridge?
I believe the cradle sits on top of the towers. It holds the suspension cable on location and protects it from damage.
@@WhatAboutTheBee Nearly! We have iron chains, not cables and the cradle or gantry is used to transport maintenance workers along the chains or under the bridge deck to inspect them. What you're thinking of there is the saddle.

It's a dinosaur found inside one of the vaults. In the last episode you could just barely see the femur of the "Lastiaimu-saurus" sticking out from beneath one of the interior walls.
_Or_ it could be Brady's way of pronouncing "Last time you saw us", but I'm not so sure about that.

I've been through some hydroelectric power generation locations... they definitely have some big dam wrenches.
