You need to swap those injector wires back where they belong. It has a miss

Bruce you can not swap those injector harness connectors between injectors. They need to go back on what cylinder they came off of

@@countryboyscooter3402 it sounds like he needs to pull timing. Spray too much fuel too early or too late. It sounds like it has a dead hole you’re not getting complete combustion. Cats always sound like shit when you put big injectors in them without timing them they blow a lot of black smoke and make a little more power but that’s what the bull holler like.

You cannot switch the injector harness that would change the order the fuel goes into the cylinders
Yeah you cant put the wires in any order if you look carefully they are marked with nbrs from 1-6... and its recommended to run the over heads if you swoped out injectors ...

Check your injector connector orientation. Sounds like it’s not running on all 6. It does matter

Hood stack's cool and all but I think it looked a lot better with dual stacks out the back and it probably sound much much better

These engines run hotter with all the extra power and the hood stack helps get the exhaust out asap
If he thinks it pulls now ,wait until he switches the wiring back on the solenoids and he feels all 6 . It's only running on 4 right now

It’s a 100% mechanical motor, other than injector timing there is nothing to tune. It sounds like that because it has humongous injectors, they give it that chop, it’s not a “miss” she sounds beautiful to me

When I converted my truck from twins to a single it has a 96 mm turbo on it. I have 1000 horsepower Marine cam put in it and put 55 injectors in it. Which they are good to make about 1,600 horsepower had to have it tuned. And injectors will have to be adjusted with the overhead to run properly. My truck sounded the same way when put back together before I had it tuned. If anything you should have a fuel lope with them big injectors. Hope it runs properly for you at the truck pull

Also to match the bigger injectors you need more fuel flow. Ported fuel pump maybe. That is defo a misfire

One thing I would say for future reference.
When torquing any bolt/nut down the correct way is to do it in one movement/action, yes that's harder to achieve working in an engine bay. Also don't use extensions and if you must then use impact extensions not regular ones.

You need to check out Martin's diesel in Pennsylvania they probably can help u out they have a wild pulling rigs. They have the tuning to get it to turn over 4000rpms

I agree it needs more timing but you need to be careful, with that much fuel and a big turbo, too much timing equals melted pistons.
Sounds identical to my 3406e when one injector wasent firing. Not sure how you guys can't tel...

Ima tell you this now that oil is gonna keep your hands stained for a while Bruce the best way to get it off is with fast orange and also you shouldn’t have messed with the injector harness cause it will effect your firing order so if you want it to sound better I would take and flip those to connectors back to how it was

Too much fuel, and not enough air. He needs to mess around with the timing and the boost to get it to run better. That ECM probably has a hot toon for stock injectors he probably needs to have it re-flashed with a cooler tune

Guys he's just testing things out, bigger cam, bigger injectors, bigger turbo, might as well get all the parts on before going and having it tuned so you're not wasting money on the dyno, pdi dyno's arent cheap, if the injectors came off a different model there is injector trim codes that need to be changed in the ecm to make them fire correctly as well, running bigger injectors he'll probably need to run a transfer pump off a marine c18 or possibly a second transfer pump that runs off a custom pulley setup, as well as bigger lines, most likely multiple fass or air doggs to pump enough clean fuel to the pump, probably wouldnt hurt to run water injection, projects take time stop slamming him with hate its a work in progress

Compared to factory canister filters, it’s hard to believe those smaller filters flow enough air. I wonder how the CFM compares to the factory style filters.
Btw an extension doesn’t change the torque on a bolt when using a torque wrench

Yeah you gotta have those wires hooked up right for the injectors i got a race pulling truck of my own and my dad owns a construction company so always ding enging work please stop running that truck you're gonna hurt that engine and idk how you couldn't hear it missing but you'll have to take off that solenoid again clock it again because it's the only one that's in a different orientation and then swap those two wires on both injectors you do have a good chance of bending a connecting rod just dumping fuel in when not supposed to
