Make videos for other people. Workshops...) 5. Develop a monetizing skill. 6. Choose ur social media wisely. (Choose ur priority social media.) 7. Choose a niche & Build a brand. 8. Good content! 9. Be an expert. 10. Be flexible.

When you talked about teaching a skill you already have (and thinking "I don't have any skills to teach") one good thing to add is that you can teach English online. You don't need any certs and most of your students will already have a grasp of the English language, they usually just want to have a conversation with you and you correct them along the way. This helped me make ends meet for a good 5 months while transitioning jobs in China. Seriously, this video is fantastic.

25 mins of retention time added lol. It seems like a dream job or at least for some of us trynna make it a dream job but it is A LOT of work. Capturing all those timelapses, carrying pounds of gear on a scooter, through a jungle trek, at a beach then being scared to leave it by the ocean because someone might take it so finally you don't end up going in the water, watching a beautiful sunset but in reality you're actually recording it more than you watch it, then you gotta get the drone shot, then the 120fps b roll of the sunset, then you gotta add instagram stories then when you're done the sun has set lol and time to get that back pack on and ride that scooter home, transfer the files, recharge all the gear, then go edit and release that video to only get a few views on it. It takes a lot of work, and a mentality to not give up, 100 hour work weeks but in the end I rather be doing this than go back home being a waiter at the cheesecake factory. I started this journey 9 months ago and couldn't be happier, a lot of inspiration came from you. I will add if anyone reads this short essay and is thinking about doing it be prepared to work full time + overtime and maybe not see any money in the beginning, but if you're strong minded and know it is something you want and don;t have a quitters mentality then go for it, worst case scenario if you don't make it you will have a collection awesome videos with tons of memories and a ton of video knowledge you'll learn along the way to help you out in the future.

I think the most important part was the first thing you said... You Will Need to Work Very Hard.... We do have a decent following ourselves and it does help pay the bills for sure. But it will take time to develop a large enough audience to bring in a significant amount of income, it is not an overnight thing (this is for anyone looking to do this for a living, don't quite your day job at the beginning). On a side note Your cinematography is always well done by the way. Nice work as always.

I've been traveling for about 12 years. I don't have a channel.. but I've been into marketing online the whole time. To those looking for ways to fund your travels.. I'd suggest looking up a program called "Laptop Earnings". That'll show you quick online hustles you can use to cover costs while you gradually build your channel up and work on your editing etc. It's probably the best all encompassing course I've come across.. very straight to the point.

No doubt. I put out 10 minute videos and I’ve gradually grown to 3 minute retention averages, not sure if that’s on par with being good but watching retention grow means your learning and doing something right. TH-cam really gives you all of the data to tell you if your headed in the right direction. Great video, I genuinely appreciate it.

I made a few travel videos just for me and my friends, which is very fun and I keep enjoying them. I definetly will work on my skills and equipment for the trips to come! If I want to monetise them, I am not sure of. Since last year, everyone around me has been putting pressure on my studies, how I need to have good grades and go to a good university. But after many hours of thoughts and processing, I've come to realize that my dream is to become a traveller and share my experiences with the world. You might like to try seasonal work for a while. It lets you travel several times a year, it provides you with consistent income, and it will give you material to start filming. You might like to see my tips about it in future videos

ACTUALLY, its not. I wish I would have seen this and started gathering my gear prior to the last couple weeks. I went all over the country wherever was permitted. California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, Nebraska etc. You can turn any place into an adventure. "Adventure is all around you , you just have to find it". There's alot of clips I could have gotten and shots I wish I would have taken with the camera I already owned. You can do this, just find new places, take your equipment with you and run with the material you can capture.
Moved to Florida to hit my restart button, start Keto and transform my life while vlogging and letting the real me come through with no filter. Dropped 40 lbs in 3 months. Vlogging my journey to share the ups, downs and all the comedy along the way.

yes there are alot of them, but most of them produce shit conten, focus on your content and market it, eventually you will grow. Also make sure to have a remote work job or freelance to support yourself till your youtube and instagram picks up.

I made a few travel videos just for me and my friends, which is very fun and I keep enjoying them. I definetly will work on my skills and equipment for the trips to come! If I want to monetise them, I am not sure of.
My way of reaching the goal of being able to travel most of my time will probably look way different then yours, but you are definitely inspiring me to hustle my way towards this goal! Keep it up! :)

But after many hours of thoughts and processing, I've come to realize that my dream is to become a traveller and share my experiences with the world. You might like to try seasonal work for a while. It lets you travel several times a year, it provides you with consistent income, and it will give you material to start filming. You might like to see my tips about it in future videos
Love this type of content, thanks Christian! As a travel photographer and videographer a lot of this rings true, people don't often see the amount of hard work that goes into this type of career, and just assume "oh they got lucky and take pretty pictures". NOPE. Hard work.

ACTUALLY, its not. I wish I would have seen this and started gathering my gear prior to the last couple weeks. I went all over the country wherever was permitted. California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, Nebraska etc. You can turn any place into an adventure. "Adventure is all around you , you just have to find it". There's alot of clips I could have gotten and shots I wish I would have taken with the camera I already owned. You can do this, just find new places, take your equipment with you and run with the material you can capture.
Moved to Florida to hit my restart button, start Keto and transform my life while vlogging and letting the real me come through with no filter. Dropped 40 lbs in 3 months. Vlogging my journey to share the ups, downs and all the comedy along the way.

If we see two channels like yours, one with hot girl in bikini and one without, where are we more likely to navigate? yes there are alot of them, but most of them produce shit conten, focus on your content and market it, eventually you will grow. Also make sure to have a remote work job or freelance to support yourself till your youtube and instagram picks up.
