      It’s important to remember that Tesla doesn’t own a monopoly over robots. Countries like China, Japan, South Korea, India, Israel, Germany, Switzerland can all deploy their own bots and sell them overseas directly to consumers without a lease or rent program.

    It will start high 50-75k range (because they can, not that they have too) and slowly come down as volume goes up keeping margins in controllable ranges. The same question exists as for its cars, should they lower margins at start to take over market share as they grow or keep margins high and make money and accept slower growth. We've seen how that has gone for its cars.

    I don't know why these TH-cam channels have never read Tesla's (Elon's) Mission Statement from when he started his company... if these people took the time to read that, they would know why Elon would in fact sell Optimus for less than he could get,.
    In all his products Elon is not looking to see what the maximum price is he can get, he is looking how low a price he can sell and still be profitable. His STATED goal is electrification and help humanity with all his companies, not how expensive he can sell his products. THAT, is a shareholder's goal not Elon's. He has said it so many times!! His action speak volumes, why make a much cheaper car if the Model Y is the best selling car in the world.

Like so many of his statements, Elon is pulling back the curtain and giving us a peak at his team’s internal goals. This is NOT a promise. If TeslaBot doesn’t happen as quickly or cost as little as stated, no one broke a promise, they missed an internal target. No one is entitled to an answer to that question.

      Not unless they do a monthly subscription, let's say 100 dollars a month. That could enable the selling price to be super low.. a million adopters = 100 million dollars a month...
      He'll slowly dish out more and more upgrades, as to justify spending 100 a month... You'll get real results, and all your chores will get done.
      Once they get good, more adopters will flood in, and the more people that join, the better Optimus will become...More data that's shared between the robots, more money to work on the software...

    Elon. I envision many levels of Optimus, from simplistic apps to complex. And, their construction, while based on the fundamental core, would also accordingly vary. Bottom line for me, for example, at 80 years old and getting creaky, would be just the machine that helps me and my creaky wife around the house with a fairly simple regimen of usually repetitive chores. Don't need anything more. And, your video said it well when it alluded to the possibility of selling millions and millions of these at a price the kids can afford to help Mom and Dad do housework and let the dogs out. Doesn't need to land on the moon. I think the key word in this is the "core". Good, better, best. Just a cheap Chevy, e.i. good core. No chrome. No pretty face.

    0:10 - that’s extremely expensive!
    Anything more than £5k to start with would be not useful.
    You cannot just buy 1, you would need at least 3-4 of them. They are going to have options, different tools …. Etc, that will add as much as £7k-£8K.
    So buying 4 will cost 4x £13k, so around £52,000 without any services included.
    Tesla should offer 50% price reduction if you buy 10 or more.
    I personally need 107 of them 😂
    2:53 - the total market for that would be less than 1000. Rich people would not need it. Labs would.
    5:37 - that’s complete horseshit. There are over 800 companies right now either working or already producing robots. There will be military assigned contractors as well. There is going to be deep space mining companies and also deep sea.
    Suffice to say, the competition will instantly kill off any companies charging more than £20k.
    My personal expert opinion is that the most used model will in fact be the rent option. Why buy when you can rent one for a few days to a few weeks when needed.
    After that, subscription model will be the winner.

    But how do you program the robot to do different tasks?
    Let's say I'm a Mason and I want one to help me move the bricks from a pallet nearby and hand me the brick on time to keep the speed same as a human would understand. And when I ask oke put 50 bricks here and 50 over there now when u done with that, mix the cement for the next batch but it's almost lunch time for me so don't mix to much. Or when I go on lunch u finish the rest of the wall? I mean if u have the exact same job in the exact same space all the time like move a box from point a to b and stack them oke. But in real world there are so many variables I don't understand how programming all that saves you time. In that same time u could do the job urselve. Or is the tech so far u upload the drawing of a house and he knows how to make it as in they upload the brain from an expert Mason carpenter iron worker electrician plumber architect stucador painter.

    • @sebastianbauer4768
      @sebastianbauer4768 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t think robots will do that well in situations like you describe which are highly variable. You might think that’s great as it will preserve those jobs, but if history is any example it’s that processes will change to accommodate the cheap labour instead of the cheap labour having to adapt to the complex processes. For example why use bricks that have to be cut, set, measured and placed requiring skilled labour if you could instead use prefabricated wall elements.
      It’s not a question of wether one is better than the other or which you prefer, it’s about what is available. We can make robots and prefabricated elements in a factory, as much as we need. We can not make skilled masons. Young people don’t want to do that kind of job anymore, we have severe shortages of skilled labour. So you’ll have the choice of prefabricated stuff or paying ridiculous amounts of money for skilled craftsmen.
      Normally a free market would take care of that, people would take up the job if you could make good money. The problem is bureaucracy, building standards, fire codes, tooling etc are so high nowadays you basically need higher education even for the basic stuff or risk code violations that can get your building condemned.

    • @julesgosnell9791
      @julesgosnell9791 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If being a Mason is not something that comes prelearnt then it will learn in the same way as a Human, You would treat it as an apprentice and it would learn at a hopefully comparable rate (although it may take some time for the tech to get to this point). The difference is, when you have spent potentially years teaching it your trade, you will own it, so it won't go off to work for someone else or start it's own business, when you clock off and go to bed, it will carry on laying bricks all night, it won't expect you to pay it, it won't take tea breaks and , software allowing, once you have it working as you would like, you'll probably be able to clone it's mind, i,e,, once you have trained up one apprentice to be a master mason, perhaps you will be able to hand it to Tesla with a fat cheque and they will be able to hand you back a team of 10 master masons, all working for you for free....

      You don't understand, it would watch or download video and training manuals on any subject and within minutes be an expert in said field. You don't program it you don't lay bricks ... You say here are the blueprints there are the bricks now robot you go build the wall. If you need anything ask me . In other words you never program it but prompt it. IE get me a drink... It ask what kind.. coke...ok master getting you a coke.

      @@ntal5859 - if it were magic and life was a science fiction movie - yes. Perhaps even, if a previous master mason had already trained an apprentice robot and there was way to modularise this learning so it could be redistributed to other robots needing the same skill (there might be the basis for an interesting new economy here). Do you think humans learn to master a new skill by just watching a video or reading a manual - no - that might be part of it but they learn by being shown how to do something by an expert and eventually after a lot of practice they become expert themselves. [The first] robot[s] will learn in exactly the same way and it is unlikely that they will be as good as a human at it to start with...

    I dont think people understand much….This robot is not going to come with the knowledge to be a maid out of the box. It would have to be programmed for each type of task, tool and situation it is being used in. It is no different than a computer on your desk. Itbhas to be given speciffic instructions. That is where cost of ownership comes in. Some ignorant folk here think they can just buy the 25 k robot and tell it to clen the house. Lol good luck with that! At 25k this robot will be nothing more than a novelty. To make it functional you will have to pay for function packages.

    I'm interested how it's going to rid the world of poverty. Surely the more jobs it replaces, the more people become unemployed and in turn fewer people will be able to afford one. So the more they sell, the more the domestic market for them shrinks. And the people who lose their jobs won't be able to afford the products that the commercially deployed Teslabots manufacture. Have these issues been taken into consideration?

I'm just curious if the questions I raised have been taken into consideration in the sales predictions. A universal income would seem to be the only solution but would that income be sufficient to purchase things like a personal robot or even a car? If not then it would seem there's going to be a massive divide between the socio-economic classes in the future; even more so than there is now.

    There are many, silly statements in this video. Optimus is both far more than described here and far less. Reaction from human co-workers will be extreme in many cases. If the introduction is done poorly, we will have a global Luddite rebellion. Optimus is an actuator and sensor for the AI system that drives it. Data from Optimus may be its most valuable product. AI systems will make that data valuable and Optimus able to learn instantaneously. Optimus is a fantastic weapon. It is a kamikaze soldier. One-way drones are revolutionizing the Ukraine War. Imagine what this can do. A humanoid robot could use all of our current weapons. We will see Optimus in Tesla plants in the next year or so. New versions will arrive that are adapted to problems we don't see now. We need a decade for this. A year or two won't do it.
