  • Explore the concept of control resource sets (CORESETs) and how it applies to downlink control information.
The video looks at the time and frequency structure of a CORESET, and its role in downlink control information as the location of the physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). It illustrates the impact of CORESET and PDCCH parameters on the OFDM grid using an interactive example, and it discusses interleaved and non-interleaved mapping. Finally, you will learn how search spaces further reduce the set of blind searches needed for the UE to correctly detect and decode control information.

To clarify some of the questions on this video. :) The standard gives a lot of freedom in terms of selecting the resources or repetition pattern. The example presented is not meant to show a “typical” pattern. Rather, it aims to present some of these options. For example, having a gap between the first and second group of resources is probably not typical but it is not precluded by the standard. Also, the CORESET period is defined by the period length and the set of slots allocated within that period.

Please give the sequence number in each video in 5G Explained. It’s not clear what sequence videos to be watched.

How to use that utility box called Figure 1: 5G Nr Downlink....... That is very useful to plot and see how the changes are applied quickly but I can not find that option in Matlab. Could someone help me with this, please?

Hello, I am slight confused. Time stamp ~4:55: here, PDSCH does not start at slot boundary, does it not mean the associated DM-RS should be the 1st symbol where PDSCH starts?

Thanks for the informative presentation. In 5G NR, when SCS is 15kHz, the numerology0 has 1 slot per subframe. Why does the figure from time 2.47 have two slots?. I think the SCS of that figure should be 30 kHz as shown in time 6.59.
