I've sensed something was wrong with a girl I was dating in my early 20s, I called her one night, she was home, I asked if I can come over. She said yes. I came over, there was her and her bff. They were nice, offered me a drink. I just asked her to give me the books I gave her to read (it was late 80s). I took the books and left, never called her, never tried to see her. It did hurt, I was in love. A month later I was ok, a year later I bumped into her on the street, she started a conversation, asked how I'm doing, asked if I'm seeing anyone. I said I was good, not seeing anyone. Then she asked if we can hang out and I said no. She was surprised if not shocked, told me to take care and we went separate ways. Never saw or heard from her again.
I was cheated and never come back. Now peace for me and regrets for her.
