Unohana’s Bankai is literally a blood demon art and a domain expansion at the same time lol. Also there’s a lot of metaphors/symbolism in this fight. Kenpachi wasn’t literally melting into a skeleton, he just felt that way, probably cuz he was once again rediscovering the true essence of “Battle” and “flirting with death”. And Unohana letting go of the blood sword is basically her officially passing on the title of Kenpachi to Zaraki, hence saying “I no longer possess anything.”
Unohana out here giving Zaraki Zenkai boosts like its DBZ Lol. killin him and healing him hundreds of times so he can break his shackles. INSANE. This whole episode was like a beautiful dance between 2 demons. Kubos pen game is on another level.
RIP to the last remaining OG Gotei member. It’s tragic that Unohana died fulfilling her purpose, meanwhile Yamamoto failed and was fully manipulated by Yhwach in the end.
Nimaya and the monk are both literally a million years old each. They are the oldest characters in the series so far by an order of magnitude (eg. Yamamoto is only in his thousands), and, yes, he created literally every zanpakuto ever to exist (including the other Zero Squad members', Yamamoto's and Aizen's swords).
Unohana had to die in that fight cause the only way for Zaraki to become a Kenpachi would be to kill her himself. Imo that's why Zaraki heard his sword right after because it's him finally taking on the role of the true Kenpachi and confident in who he is now.
Yeah, if Kenpachi striked and she could still heal herself, it meant that it wasn't a full-on effort, that he was still half-baked and shackled. She knew that she had to push him to really be strong enough to kill her in one fell swoop.
Imagine if Orihime was told by Kyoraku to wait inside the Muken, hidden behind one of the pillars, and heal Unohana after the battle ended. She and Zaraki fighting alongside each other, at full power, would have been a killer combo.
@@3slicessenpailol Unohana doesn’t need Orihime she can insta-heal with her Bankai. She literally released her Bankai at the last moment so Zaraki could finish her off.
@@c3p6 Again, that would feel like sort of a cop out. Bankai buffs all your stats so, if she turned off the Bankai, her defense would decrease, so the constant doubt would remain if Zaraki would have been able yo kill her if she *was* in Bankai.
@@3slicessenpai I’m saying she released (turned off) her Bankai at the last moment before Zaraki stabbed her, I’m guessing in the same scar he stabbed all those years ago.
@@c3p6 And I'm saying that, if she was in her Bankai state, the stab *might* not have been fatal. Zaraki needed to beat her at her best to truly recapture the fight from hundreds of years ago, not fight her at her best and deliver the finishing blow to a neutered opponent. Unohana never once let up in her fight. Yes, she healed after every attack, but every attack was 100% bloodlusted. That's the wall Zaraki needed to surpass
her bankai is so op lol he melts and instantly heals again, crazy shit, great reaction as always!!
