@@JostenDooley I'm want to make ink swatches with the automatic pen because it enables lots of ink at once. Do you think the feed in a pilot parallel could be removed so it would work like the automatic?
I don't do calligraphy, but want to try the Automatic pen for fountain pen ink sampling/journaling. I have and like the Parallel, but it requires more than a quick water-swish cleaning between inks.
@@JostenDooley I mostly dip a 6mm Parallel into sample vials of standard fountain pen inks like Noodler's, De Atramentis, Herbin, Diamine, Lamy, Pilot, Colorverse... and many more. I'm a ink sample junkie. 😊 But even with dipping, some ink is drawn up into the feed, so a flush is required before I can use that pen with a different ink.
Do the nibs of automatic pens wear out fast? I noticed they were quite affordable so I was wondering if that had anything to do with how long they last
thank you! needed to know exactly what you taught.
youre welcome

Thanks for the invaluable information on how to use these. I have been avoiding using these in my kit. I used your advice, and it was very helpful.
So happy it helped
Perfect comparison video! Thanks.
Thank you as well I appreciate it.

yes correct it does require a bit more. What type of ink are you using in your parallel pen?
