Thank you for your great insights. I wrote a couple of your quotes down that I really liked. I will share them with my instructor. I’ve always loved listening to the harp and admired harpists. I play piano, but never even considered the harp. Then on a Disney Cruise one of the adult lounges had a professional harpist playing each afternoon. I went every day to watch and listen. Two years later, I just couldn’t let go of the idea of playing the harp. I found an instructor online, but lived close enough to take lessons in person. I rented a harp from her until I knew I’d stick with it. At the beginning of my harp journey I came across LTH and joined at the very beginning. Here I am 5 1/2 years later still loving it and owning 3 lever harps!
I'm so glad you found this encouraging! I bet having live harp music was a perfect touch to add to the atmosphere of a Disney cruise 😍 I love that you're still playing and loving it!
I teach accounting. It’s so important for teachers to learn new things. It keeps us connected to what students go through learning something new. It’s actually one of the big reasons I decided to learn harp. Maybe pickleball is next!
Sometimes we just have to just try and havé some fun until we get to a certain level to take things more seriously that gives us the courage to push through the harder times, otherwise if things are too tough from the start we give up before we really get started. I will never be a great harpist I have two left hands so to speak but I love playing my harp and that’s good enough for me to keep at it. It’s been something I have wanted to learn for over 50 years.
Love Pickle Ball! The focus is not on competition but on enjoying the moment. Same as with the harp journey! Good lesson Carrie ❤
I like your point about having people with you on the journey! It's so true: you can easily get stuck in your own head when you are alone.
Yes! Sometimes it's hard to see the bigger picture, having others around you can be so encouraging! 🙌🏼
Thanks for the reminder to think about why we started playing harp! I have always loved harp and it blesses people were ever I play.
It absolutely does! Such an amazing gift to those around you :)

I love your perspective on this 💚 you're so right! It's important to make sure you're enjoying the process and not take yourself too seriously :)
We've been playing pickleball for a long time, love that it's become popular!
Yes! The courts around us are always quite crowded, people really love it!
now make your husband learn a harp piece! Or an instrument that accompanies the harp nicely lol
Haha! I have taught him Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star on the harp 😆 he does play the Saxophone, maybe we should play more duets together 😃
@@LearningtheHarp lmao yes! do a careless whisper arrangement by george michael i'm sure he'd love that!
Ah, didactics. How one learns how one learns. My greatest enemy and friend when i learn her.
