I am going to call you crazy! That was a beautiful video. I get tired of videos where every shot is of a fish. This one has so much of the "other things." And, your daughter is sooooo big! She is so fortunate to have the life she has!
Hey April, enjoyed the video! Funny, I've got photos of my son reading in the canoe while I'm fishing as well! I think you did pretty well to get into a few fish with such high water but then I'm all about getting out fishing when you can and hoping the fish cooperate. Congrats on the great cabin (camp in New Brunswick!). I know a great vibe place when I see one and yours is really nice! Come out East again and I will help you find a salmon. Cheers!
Awesome video, and thank you for sharing. You have a beautiful country with spectacular scenery and fishing. Great to see your family enjoying themselves.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful video with us. I really enjoyed watching it and paid close attention to the whole thing. I have to say, April, you’re my role model in fishing. About a month ago, I managed to land a steelhead on my local river, and I’m so happy I did. I’m grateful that you’ve always inspired me to succeed in my efforts. I caught this steelhead using a double-hand setup with a swing technique, and it was such a great experience. Thank you so much!
Hi April! Looks like we were there in the same time and we had quite similar experience. We managed to land few fish but was quite hard. Lets hope for better conditions next season! Tight lines
❤❤❤I am SO glad to see your family fishing together!!! Between Adelaide’s pink waders and rainbow umbrella, the pack rat, Charles calling the bears, AND Charles getting a nice hen steelhead, as you said, the memories more than made up for the slow fishing! Thank you for sharing! A couple of comments/questions: -I was glad to see you using the Airflo Scout Skagit heads. I am trying to move to Airflo for all of my lines. Get rid of the PVC! -What tips were you using? Tippet strength? -What rods were those? Burkheimers? -Your boat was the Grizzly, right? -I was interested to see that you used, at least some of the time, more traditional patterns rather than the more elaborate rhea flies you tie. Any particular reason? -Finally, what did Grandma say about Adelaide driving the jet boat? 😂 Thanks again for this glimpse into your life as a family and for allowing me to experience so much vicariously. Can’t wait to see the NZ adventure!! (Don’t forget your Invisalign! 😉)
Fantastic, even though the fishing was slow. My first bc steelhead trip was on the Bulkley and Morice and was memorable. It was at the time of that bear attack you talked about on the video, 2012.
I was up there for 2 weeks and got there the monday it blew out at Telkwa. Thankfully I found some fish the next week on the K trib using winter tips and flies. I was hoping to swing a dry line the whole time but was glad I brought everything.
April, did you ever hear of Linseed rags self combusting? Apparently it's a thing, I got a caution on it from someone not long ago. One has to be real careful with it. But yeah, Linseed as a tough medium. We used it a good bit in 'oil on canvas' art work. Gee, it's been too long (the 80's).
When I went up in august, the skeena was lower than I'd ever seen it. It was clear. I tried to go up in the fall, but every time I saw the water level drop for a few days, the graph would shoot up again. I never made it up.

Thanks Charles! Yup, loving the airflo! I was using poly leaders with 15lb leader. Yessir, love the Burkie. ☺️ Will adjust the music next time (noticed it was too loud as well). 🙏🏻
@@AprilVokeyI looked at the video again. 540gr head. So, the 13’3” Burkie? (In case I ever make it up to BC). It would take more than just me to cast a 13’ bamboo. At least more than once!😂

Lovely video April! I never knew that pink waders were a thing! 😂
Great tip with the Linn seed oil for the rocks. Looks awesome and a great family getaway place.

I think my favorite part of this story was your child in the back of the raft reading a book. Makes me smile.

Loved watching your video of the waters we fish every year. Water was definitely high but some great fishing between the monsoons.

April, " but is it though" what a technician of fly fishing lol. I would have thrown muted n possibly darker pattern. Again, great video be well.
