The first video i made on this channel that ever got any sort of attention and my first to break 1000 views was the original missing character video i made on Val nearly 5 years ago. I remember i was at Nando's meeting my mother for lunch and checked my analytics while waiting for our food and someone had posted it to reddit and it 'blew up', at least for my size at the time, think i had less that 100 subs. But it was huge for me and gave me the confidence to keep going and putting the work in. That video meant a lot to me. The thing is, it's a very old video, the whole missing character series i did is all very old and honestly poor when i look at my content today. Hell even some of my content from 2021/22 i wish i could go back and do better. I was still learning how to voice over properly, my mic was awful, and i wasn't even using my custom map yet but the world of ice and fire one. My content has come a long way since then. So while i spend some time working on the next batch of Battle Lore scripts, i'm gonna be remaking a select few of my favorite missing character videos, only this time with much better scripting, better audio, better visuals, and much more detail and theory crafting in the video itself. And hay. If people like the series whos to say i couldn't go from 4 to 5 videos a week. As always thanks for all the support over the last year and a half, the channel has grown so much more than i thought possible. And a special thanks to my nights watch brothers who are here every video without fail within the first few minutes, i really appreciate the support.
I am glad this success gave you the drive to keep going because your videos are something I eagerly wait for, especially when it's about House Blackfyre.
I enjoyed as well as empathized with your endearing agony regarding refining one's own work, long after the fact or not. I have that cloak to wear as well, when I find old unfinished and finished works in long neglected boxes. I even have a Star Trek script from the writers' strike in the 1980s accompanied by Ron Moore's atograph, where he anticipates an explanation from me... I promised him to reveal the source of Deanna Troi's "disfunctionality" 😂 I really should get on with it before we both croak. I really enjoy your channel very much, and wish you "writer's cramp" instead of "writer's block"! (This was at a seminar in San Francisco for potential script writers) Enjoy yourself, and appreciate your growth. Cringe not! 😊
I eagerly await revised videos. I really appreciate how you have made 2.0 videos from your Battles of Westeros. Something along the same line was when you did House Manderly of Dustonberry amd Manderly of WhiteHarbor. You have been killing with your videos. I love your Great Houses videos alot. I like how you have done the Noble Houses of the Reach and now The Stormlands. I really hope you do The Riverlands next. There are some really interesting Houses there with interesting dynamics and history. I really appreciate your opinion piece videos alot. Even if I don't agree with your point of view, I respect the opinion and it allows me to empathize with a character/ see a different point of view. Great scripting as always. You're killing it as always.
Yeah a lot of people at the time though when her cating was announced thought she might be getting some of Val's role. Even back when season 4 was in production, i can't remember who, but a blond haired actress was cast in a very minor role, but people were convinced she was gonna be Val.
Jon’s vow to the Night’s Watch was pointless, it’s too bad that it took him being murdered to make him realize that. The Night’s Watch wasn’t worth fighting for as far as I’m concerned.
I don't think you can cut out very many of Martains characters, they all tie in to main character arches... Look at Brianne and Jamie... without Stoneheart they have nothing to do in the show.. Even non-book readers wandered WTH... Same with the Tysha story lines for Tyrian...
Rickon as well. Like theres seems to be a lot of set up for him and Manderlys to make a play for him to be lord of winterfell in the books. In the show Rickon disappears, returns to die with like maybe one line of dialogue. And the Manderlys are shadows of what they should be.
As much as I want him to be a BlackFyre....I'm still holding out hope that he could possibly actually be Rhaegars child. It's such a tough one for me. Blackfyre is my favorite Targ and Rhaegar is my 3rd.
@herbthompson8937 He could still be. It would definitely make it interesting because then he would have basically every right over Dany all her plans of being Queen gone unless she gets married to her nephew that just popped up. Although I would be pretty disappointed because then all that stuff about only the male line is gone and black or red a dragon is a dragon herrings, I guess. Not to mention, my poor Blackfyre loyalist heart would shatter into a million pieces.
@ageorbittersteel2154 there's like a 2% chance that he might really be Aegon hahaha. He's most likely a Blackfyre...maybe even a Blackfyre lady that married Maegor, Aerions son...that'd be pretty kewl
Thanks for that inside peek into your process. I find your work far more interesting than I did before your confession, which I found weirdly inspiring! Looking ahead with anticipation, I may revisit the books and chime in more!😅
George R. R. Martin and his ASOIAF universe inspired me (along with a few others) to become an author and I'm currently writing a book heavily inspired by George R. R. Martin's work. Val was even an inspiration for a character in my work. Basically in a kingdom called Lornanthia after years of war and conflict an event called the Crown Games, where suitors will compete for the hand of the three eldest royal princesses, is commencing. Our main character is a young man named Orpheus Lulamoon, who is the eldest son of House Lulamoon (basically my version of the Starks) and he is in the service of the royal family as the bodyguard of the third eldest princess. During the Crown Games he overhears talk of a coming war between Lornanthia and another kingdom called the Arcadian Empire who has a connection to ancient old world magic and soon after the king and queen are assassinated by unknowm forces which threatens to kickstart another war. The kingdom of Lornanthia is divided into ten regions each region is ruled by one of the Ten High Houses: Lornanthia's Heart at the center of the kingdom is ruled by the Royal House Everfree, surrounding the Heart is the ring shaped region of Tillia ruled by House Unicorn, north of Tillia is Lumeria ruled by House Lulamoon, to the west of Lumeria and Tillia is Ferronia ruled by House Bumbleton, to the east of Lumeria and Tillia is Evyrria ruled by House Rosario, the northern most region is Nothoros ruled by House Arundel, south of Tillia is Solenia ruled by House Solaris, to the south of Solenia is Tempesta ruled by House Marigot, south of Tempesta is Lolth ruled by House Bloodlace, and to the east of Evyrria resides Mordrea ruled by House Arland. The kingdom of Lornanthia is also known for its conscription laws when it comes to war since they don't have a large group of knights necessary for combat, so they conscipt farmers and peasants to be their grunts basically. The political hierarchy of the kingdom is also divided into three factions: the Royalists who are loyal to the king, the Nobility who are schemers with plans to usurp the king and put their own on the throne, and the Forsaken who are spies and allies to the Empire.
That sounds very interesting. Martin's work with the world of Game of Thrones is so inspiring. He's so detailed and readers can tell how much research, work, thought, and preparation he did to put this world together. Good for you for building your own world. Like I said, the snippet you posted sounds very interesting.
Jon really was a clueless, naive boy when he set off for the wall and although he has had to grow up fast, he often is the last to "see" what is going on around him.
Also there's the Ned plus ashara equals John because Ned actually was a married to ashara Dayne and still was forced to marry Caitlin even though he was already married which is one of the things when Ned brings up whatever that is that he feels bad about that's what he feels bad about and it's believed that Val might actually be John's twin sister and actually men's Raiders niece because it's believed that men's Raider is actually Sir Arthur Dayne
There's a theory that Val may be Benjen Stark's daugther, making her Jon's cousin and a warg with Stark's blood, since her eyes are grey yet sometimes look blue similar to Ned. Also, her character might be inspired by Arya's in the original story: being a love interest between Jon and Tyrion, with being in love with Jon before knowing he's Rhaegar and Lyanna' son and making her the perfect candidate for the role of Nissa Nissa as love sacrifice to Jon's Azor Ahai!!!!!
Ok im not knocking preference or anything ijs... Val doesn't show up till SOS and the only time she is seen shes doing some badass shit I know Stannis gives Jon the offer to marry her and be made a Stark but Val is just a part of Jon's story she and Stannis' naming him is a gift he always wanted, a strong woman, a mother, capable and all that and to be a great lord. When Jon rejects the offer its just to show how he is changed. Val is not important at all she is badass but we all know GRRM by now he really sets the scene and gives characters who would be nameless in other books some shine i think thats all this was but but Stannis' brother in law is marrying people in the north to wildings and clansmen so maybe he and Val get married to keep the Florent line going considering that they've almost died out following Stannis
That would be something. I think the events of the show may turn out true and Jon goes back beyond the Wall, or just south of it, and forms his own house.
Still cant believe Jon turned down that wildling piece of a$$. If only Melsandre didn't mention anything about burning the Winterfell weirwoods, he would've most likely accepted Stannis' offer and taken Val back with him.
i do think val would play a bigger role in the story. she'll get jon throught his resuccertion and teach him better battle tactics like sansa did in the show. she'll also be jon's diplomat to the wildings which will help when jon is made king in the north. i don't think that val will be jon's love interest but she will be a close friend to jon. i also have been wriiting a fanasty series with a character like val. she's named boduica princess of beasts like vaynamr sixskins but hotter.

Nice work mate, I’ve watched pretty much all your videos.
Nice. Keep up the good work
Kneel before me, lay your sword at my feet, pledge me your service, and you'll rise again as Jon Stark, Lord of Winterfell 🐺
If only Melisandre shut her mouth for a minute and didn't tell him she wanted to burn the Winterfell weirwoods.
Jon snow: I don't want it

Very glad you’re doing these videos on missing characters, keep up the good work bro. Can't wait to see Val in Twow.
When I first watched the Hardhome episode, a tough wilding chieftess was featured and I thought she might be the Show version of Val. Apparently not.

If the realm was serious about the wall then they'd send actual soldiers to man it.

If there is a sequel Val may play an important role.
First to take the Black 🖤
She was cut out because Dan and Dave got lazy. Same as Lady Stoneheart

Jon really was a clueless, naive boy when he set off for the wall and although he has had to grow up fast, he often is the last to "see" what is going on around him.
He's so much like Ned. Even though an uncle, Ned was his true "father". Jon inherited both Ned's good points, and unfortunately, Ned's flaws.
Excellent content
Will u please make a Rhaegar character video, please
I think Val maybe someone important from a Important family that was sent North pf the Wall for some reason. But that's just speculation
There's a theory that Val may be Benjen Stark's daugther, making her Jon's cousin and a warg with Stark's blood, since her eyes are grey yet sometimes look blue similar to Ned. What if when Jon is resurrected he decides to kill his assassins and take Val as his wife and become the Nights King 2.0
That would be something.
I think the events of the show may turn out true and Jon goes back beyond the Wall, or just south of it, and forms his own house.
Jon resurrected goes mad as his grandfather King Aerys II and burns castle black lol
