    Another thorough and thoughtful review. Looks like saddles are really improving with features and comfort. These types of reviews will keep driving companies to refine their products and make them more competitive and hopefully give more value as well! 👍

    I would like to add to you’re review. I went with the covert light. I m on the bigger side, 42/44 waist 280. So all that extra webbing gets used in my case. As well as all the mesh. The linesman belt loops and bridge seem to fall into place. No pinch, but I have nothing to compare it too either. Before looking at Trophy Line saddles. I thought saddle hunting was for the young dudes wearing mid 30’s or less waist. Couldn’t find another saddle with that much room for expansion.
    Spoke to the folks at Trophy Line to confirm and felt comfortable purchasing the covert light. Wore it all last season and it worked out well. I wear mine with a pair of industrial type suspenders attached to the molly webbing. Just a tip for those that complain about their saddle sagging during the walk in.
    Nice review. I really enjoy your channel. Thanks.

    Bought this saddle last year, my first. It's a really good saddle and the whole starter kit (ropes, pouches and saddle) and military discount I was able to get a lot for less than $300. No regrets at all for buying. For those on a budget, it's worth it.

      @TNOutdoorsFanatic 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rrd9434 I bought my Trophyline after season closed here in TN, so I have only had it out playing around with it some in the tree. I was immediately impressed with how comfortable it was because it rides a little higher than others I looked at. It had lots of adjustability, and I felt right at home in it immediately. I have worked from heights a lot in the past and don’t have a fear of heights, so when it came to pushing off the tree and swinging around I felt very comfortable and secure. I have talked to guys who said that was the hardest part to get used to, and I totally understand that concept. I would definitely buy it again!

    Just checked the Trophyline Website and saw that the complete Covert Lite Saddle kit cost an extra $119. Saddle by itself is $199, Complete Kit $319. Is it worth the cost or can we do better by getting the Linemans Rope and Tree Tether separately. Complete Kit adds the following:
    ➡ Trophyline Custom Tree Tether Rope with 5” Sewn eye
    ➡ Trophyline Custom Lineman’s Rope with sewn tight eye
    ➡ Black Diamond Rocklock Screwgate Carabiner
    ➡ Two Black Diamond Positron Screwgate Carabiners

    • @SaddleHunter
      @SaddleHunter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For $120 I would personally look at the WE or Cruzr website for deals on Oplux 8mm tethers and lineman belts. It may be more but it’s worth it in the long term.

    Im getting back into hunting after a 5 year break and debating a saddle or another tree stand. I like the mobility of a saddle system but the tree stand I just bought is easier to get into and with a canopy keeps me out of the weather for the most part but...this saddle system can be used anywhere. Oh what to do, what to do lol Its between this one and a Cruz xc.

    Hello, I'm going to a saddle this next season I'm sick of lugging around the climbers! I'm stuck between this and the tethrd phantom and thoughts?

    • @SaddleHunter
      @SaddleHunter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my opinion it depends on your preferences and style of hunting. If most of your sits are long and you don't mind a little extra weight and bulk, buy the Covert Lite. If most of your hunts are 2-4 hours and you want to be very streamlined and lightweight, buy the Phantom.

  • @JennRFL16

    I just received my saddle I have no idea about saddle hunting since this is my first one but it feels like it’s built rugged I did try a tethrd phantom on not to hang from just on wrist and it felt like I was wearing nothing This one gives me more sense of security. Far a the size I think I could have got a medium large not large xl but I think I will like it once I start trying it in the tree the buckles that snap do t bother me since I’ll be putting it in at the truck and even if I did put it on at the tree they don’t make no more noise then I will when setting sticks I’ll try it this spring and summer if I don’t like it then I try another one I will say the ropes are really really stiff

    • @SaddleHunter
      @SaddleHunter  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes those ropes are super stiff. They’ll loosen up some over time. The only thing you might want to think about adding to the saddle is an amsteel adjustable bridge because it will give you more adjustment options.

      It’s $200, it’s not that expensive compared to a tree stand. You can always buy a $50 rock climbing harness on amazon and see if that works out. If not, return it. If that’s to expensive, go to eBay and buy a cheap $10 hunting harness and make a homemade saddle. If that’s to expensive, I guess climb trees and throw rocks?

      My Cruzr XC is a size 1. The seat is 24" wide and 12" tall. A size 2 is 14" tall and a size 3 is 16" tall. Those sizes are also wider but I'm not sure how much wider. The Cruzr is ~26" wide and 14.5" tall, so probably similar in size to a size 2 Cruzr. I hope that's helpful.

    Just looked at their website. I gotta say I wouldn't buy their stuff just from their return policies & warning screen that says your order will be late no matter how fast you may need it. Speaking on their return policies, basically anything they sell that is slapped with vintage in the description has a no return policy. Im sorry but any company worth their reputation should back any product they sell or pull it off the website. for those reasons I will definitely be choosing another saddle company for sure.

      Saddles are such a person specific item. What works well for one person’s body type and hunting style might not work well for another. For example I’m not a huge fan of the Latitude yet a lot of people think it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. Sorry that saddle didn’t work out for you.
