This year I'm turning 50. One of the few things I really feel passionate about and look forward to, is new Watain releases. This song is an epic masterpiece. Selim's spirit is lingering in it.
@@Lilith218 Hi. I do not consider Watain's path to be "satanic" as is commonly understood. Me being a consecrated gnostic christian priest, I find that their path shares many things with the gnostic, dualistic path.
This is going to be one of Watain's best albums. How can you deny, at this point, that Watain has cemented themselves as a pinnacle and milestone in the story of black metal?
Nobody can really contest that, I knew about Watain before I got into BM. I used to think I couldn't listen to BM because the recording quality was toaster, but that recording quality is in the vast minority and is more of a meme at this point.
@r33mote wow hm look production may not be what your looking for but maybe if they recorded in an abandon urinal you'd listen...the 3 tracks they release are next level song writing and a landmark in the years to come for Swedish black metal and all black metal for times to come. But what do I know I just been in this shit longer than 18 years
Very raw but also very melodic, almost bluesy in parts (the guitar solo in particular). Eric's beautiful infernal mysticism shines through these poetic odes to the dark as usual. Watain are really pushing the boundaries of black metal into new and interesting territory while remaining true to the aggressive and primal spirituality that characterised the roots of the genre. Love it!
@@jaketheadventurer2772 it’s Farida Lemouchi. Her brother, Selim, played guitar live with Watain for maybe a few years. You can see him on the video btw, big bearded guy. He had a band called The Devil’s Blood and Farida was the singer. It was an amazing band, you should definitely check it out. Selim took his own life in 2014. May he rest in chaos.

There’s Watain and then there’s everything else. There is no comparing. They are a force of black cosmic nature. It’s plain to see that the way they work their magic has leveled the mountains of any standard ideal, erecting temples of great achievement for themselves in both music and the abyssic arts… and something beyond inspiring to us all. Thank you Watain.
This had to be a very emotional video for Erik. Showing his best friend S.L and other past members of Live Watain lineup. What a damned journey they´ve been through! I only wish, that they had some footage of Jon in the video. WF/FW
@@wolfgangdiaz2360 why are all dissection and watain fans so uptight all the time? Anti cosmic? You guys don't like space? I don't get it. Someone explain plz
Farida + slow tempo = excellent ! This atmosphere ...! A kind of hymn from the mysterious undergrounds of life. As beautiful as the darkness. (And "That dark wind of which dreams are made", is it some sort of watainish quote of Shakespeare ?)
This song premieres in ten hours from this comment. Ten hours from now I was supposed to be seeing Watain in Detroit. I can't wait until they can make it to the US again.
great singing, was suprised to hear female clean vocals in watain!, very well implemented though it flows perfectly with the song. awesome video! looking forward to hearing the album!! hails!!!🤘
This Swedish Black Metal band is older than the 21st Century but is new to my ear. This is a truly delicious slice of demonic doom. Its' slowhand plodding tempo and riffs will remind you of the Daddy of all metal bands - Black Sabbath. Interestingly there's a female clean vocal confined to the first quarter, which I've never heard done before. She then mysteriously vanishes for the rest of the number. For all the doom and growling going on, it's also very melodic, making for a wonderfully atmospheric piece. Great production too - with some decent headphones, you're like THERE in the middle of it. It's a must-download for all Disciples of Doom. My Score: Very Good 4*
This is amazing!😍🤘🔥🔥🖤🔥🔥🤘😍I am in awe here! I've been a fan of Watain since their first album came out.. they're concert performances are incredible..I haven't seen any other bands with that much fire onstage during a performance. Leaves me speechless every time.
Oh yeah Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian! I felt it could've inspired Watain's dark epic 'They Rode On', and from seeing the quote here, it could very well have been!
Every Watain song is like a ritual, a spiritual journey.
