There's always a stark difference between music that people make for money, and music that people make for expression/creativity - for the sake of music itself. We can learn a lot about ourselves from that simple understanding.
Daughter's music is some of the most genuine I've heard.
I'll go one step further. This isn't music created for expression/creativity. For me, daughter creates music out of necessity. The painful realities of life that must be bled away in order to continue existing. Imo this is music she HAD to write in order to keep on breathing.
yea this is music you make to try to heal something broken. its pure expression trying to get it out. some people make music for riches or fame and some people just need to scratch at their consciousness like a bitch with fleas (to paraphrase ani difranco another good one)
