For me it is the exact opposite. My parents want to go back to the Philippines but I am comfortable here in Europe. Though back then I also wanted to go back lol. But besides that I've had these kinds of arguments with my mom so often. The shouting and the crying. It brings back feelings so strongly. She did it perfectly.

The dad cheated on her not just once but many times that's why she always hated the fact of seeing him and that's one of the reasons why she's not including him to their family. She got traumatized, raising a child alone without any support is tough and of course Chanty's role got problems not having to know her father and everything. She didn't knew the reason behind leaving the dad also that man has a girlfriend. She (Chantal) is setting them up together but the father has a long time girlfriend. It's kinda complicated but it's a good story. In the end they got their closure as a family but did not end up together.

She eventually likes the Philippines but now her mom wants to go back because Chanty's dad discovered they have a daughter. Thats the reason of the fight in the first scene you watch.

Filipino moms are physical but this particular mom is doing it every time they have deep arguments. And... The third scene... That teen is just being Karen for that small gesture. The mom is just pointing at her, physically and with a phone unfortunately on the upper part of her body, chest-sholder border and it's nothing to walk off. Just imagine your mom doing it on you with her finger, you will walk off?
But these two are good actresses specially the mom, she's one of the good actress in The Philippines.
Filipino's like intense drama rather than watching fairy tale scenes
I personally believe that Filipinos are some of the best actors in the world. They can get too melodramatic, but they're gooood. I'm sorry that most of the clips you saw showed Beauty (that's really the mom's name) getting physical. I don't know why the writers or the director felt they could keep doing that in scenes. Once would've been enough. I guess they felt like it was more dramatic that way. No need. Beauty is already a very effective actress. I just can't get over the fact that we keep casting someone who's still as young as her to play mom/dad roles to stars of Chanty's age.

@Ju Lia If they have subtitles, then that's great. Don't expect too much from the effects. We lack much of the technology yet. I'd suggest Spirits first rather than Kambat. The thing is I don't think there's a season two. Will find out for you. Kambat is just a series with a few episodes. Chantal is not the main character either. It's more focused on the MayMay-Edward tandem. I wish I could share iWantTV to you...Welcome, BTW.
