    I love that you said the part about "if you want to keep it, keep it! Wear what you want." I've observed a number of DYTers beat themselves up because they didn't want to part with something they adored or had sentimental meaning--whether a piece of genuine gold jewelry when they are now "supposed" to wear silver, or a handbag with the "wrong" color leather. I have chosen to use my Type 4 DYT as my guideline, not my set of absolute rules. And I still wear the beautiful gold necklace my husband gave me before we were married!

      I'm a t4 with neutral-warm coloring, so I'm going to wear gold. I wear both silver and gold; it depends a lot on my outfit and what's available. Yellow gold isn't very fashionable now in the US, with rose gold being the trend, but I wear whatever strikes my fancy.

      I think that's what makes us so individual...that we add in our own quirkiness to the mix but that we are free to follow our true natures! 😍

    I have been practicing dressing your truth for a couple of years. I'm a type one. When I do all things type one with my appearance I get major compliments. All my clothes are type one, I noticed I have to do it all to make it work. I can't just wear type one clothes with no make up or accessories. When I do it all my close friends tell me I'm like a Different person full of energy and confidence. I have learned so much and about others with dressing my truth. I'm so thankful for Carol Tuttle and dressing your truth. You are also an inspiration. I love watching your videos!!

    Diane, when I wear something and it can be worn again I hang it up to air inside out. Helps me remember that it’s been worn once and should go in laundry next time. I love your jewelry organization and will try to make something similar to it. I am amazed that I learn something from you everyday.

    I finally bought uniform hangers and it made a big difference in my wardrobe. It makes the clothes, rather than the hangers, pop out. (I chose black hangers). I use the old ones for clothes gifts or donations, it’s nice to get things cleaned, pressed and on hangers. You could use them for your swaps.

    I just discovered that I am a type 2 and ever since shopping has been so easy and fun! It’s so nice to know that I won’t be wasting money on things I’ll never wear again. I had heard of Carol Tuttle before, but your videos convinced me to give it a try. Thank you, Diane!

    loving these videos and today instead of lying on my bed watching you declutter, I decluttered my bedside table, which I'd been putting off for MONTHS!! Delighted I achieved this as today has been a downer, but I can feel proud I've made a small positive difference to my house. Have my very simple control journal up and running since you mentioned them the other day. I'm still not sure how to use it but I'm sure it will become second nature in time. just finishing my evening routine with a lovely leave-on face mask. Hygge be with you! Niamh in Dublin 😄👍

    My grandma was the same way with costume jewelry. I used to love going through it when I was a child. I do like the sound of the Morning Gift. Sounds lovely. I’m a Flybaby right now so I’m learning a lot right now. I don’t have a lot of jewelry bc I have three kids under 8. I tend to break chains.

    I did a digital declutter. Took less than 15 minutes! Pretty day here, just a bit of bulb planting. Alan drills with an auger attachment on his drill and I put in the bone meal and bulb sitting on the ground. I am staying current in the chores by learning to adapt and feel rather pleased with myself that I have kept going with my minor set back.

    Your comments about time management reminded me of a book I just finished (The Light Within Me) the Author's father always told her, "If you stay up with the owls, you won't be able to soar with the eagles." 🤓 I love, love, love, love your grocery store necklace. I hope that will be one of those things that will make its rounds and come back to you someday. Loving all the different ways you are wearing your hair. 🌻

    Yes, I remember those necklaces from the early '90's. I liked the look of them but they felt scratchy/ itchy against my skin so I did not hold onto mine.
    I am thinking that I might order the DYT2 color cards. I feel they might encourage me to get out there and find some clothing. I get intimidated about clothing and analyze it to death. I have a meager closet now, but at least the items left are those that suit me. Thank you for the "fashion encouragement." Whew, I sure appreciate it. Am still sending weekly declutter list to sister and mom. So much at peace now..addicted to decluttering and loving it ((Smiles))

    I bleach new clothes all the time. “Whites” often have a yellowish/brownish tinge, more like ivory, that isn’t good on me. I only do it once or twice so I don’t wear them out. I usually try chlorine bleach first, then if they need more, Rit Color Remover. In my favorite brand, H&M, “white” items rarely are, nor do they match each other, even if it’s a “matching piece”.

    • @susananderson1071
      @susananderson1071 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diane discussed the Konmarie method. There is a lot of information including the audio book on you tube or netflix.
      It may be a good method for your office. I am loving this method.
      Basically you take all items out of your office except papers. You handle each item as you think does this item bring me joy. If it does and it has a place you can keep it.
      Do paperwork and books separately.

    I reviewed the Evening Routine video after watching this one, Diane. One of the photos of your outfits included the formerly dark green vest which you bleached to the pale pink. Interesting. Do you use bleach full strength or diluted? About how long do you let it sit? I suppose you do a test first, or do T1s just go for it?😉 thanks for your encouragement! Off to set my timer!

    You brought dyt to me through one of your videos and it changed my life! I’m a 3/1 and now I understand people so much better, and are more accepting of them. I think ‘oh that’s such a type 4 thing’ for example, rather than why is that person so (insert difference here). I always knew me and my husband were like chalk and cheese and now I know it’s because he’s a 4/2 lol. Poor man, he needs a quiet peaceful life and I need action and fun. We have a type 1 and a type 3 son too 😂. I can’t say I get in with the clothes though but with regards to colours they are spot on. Anyway, thanks xx

    When you say you bleached an article of clothing, what is the process? I am thinking that you literally put it in the wash and added bleach to the cycle as normal. Is it just that simple or is there a specific process you take? I am interested in doing a couple of clothing items. Thanks in advance for the process.

    • @DianeinDenmark
      @DianeinDenmark  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Brenda! You can Google info on bleaching different fabrics but basically I put mine in a bucket of water with a LOT of bleach for a few hours. Definitely a science experiment and not something to try unless you really don't mind how the garment turns out 😃

    • @DianeinDenmark
      @DianeinDenmark  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      For each Type there is a one colour card and one pattern card. The cards are a helper - you hold them against the item of clothing to see if it *harmonises* (you're not looking for an exact match a colour on the card). I'm a Type 1, so I look great in tints (colours which have been lightened with white, which look like they are sunny and bright).
