      First ask EV manufacturing companies to bring future adoptable battery to existing or old modal. Also bring extended warranty purchasable after 8yrs or 7th year.
      Unless there is no assurance, who ever buys second hand, ready to take risk at their own. Ask EV manufacturer like Tata to buy second hand just like ICE cars.
      Most of you youtubers don't buy and ask public to become get fooled buy in loan just thinking of saving fuel (which can be or not until 8yrs completed by the buyer).

    Dont get fooled by these reviews, I brought nexon a month back, ev max dark edition, done 1200kms. The max range you will get with a full charge will be 250 with ac on & if you push it lil further 80km it will drop to 200. So the range and economy is a myth. Pushed by these paid reviewers. I wasted my hard earned money on EV. I was happy with my dzire vxi witj 18kmpl milage.

Unless you drive like a sloth, it's impossible to get anything close to 300. I have seen ppl achieving 350, but they drive without Ac, below 40-50km. Which not feasible unless you are in such a weather and stuck in city traffic.

    I have Max and I have done >13K in 8 months. Very happy with the car as mostly the running is in NCR with home charging. I drive around 80KMs every day with in NCR and no range anxiety at all. Charging is only over weekend (once a week) as normally I get a range of 400Km over a single charge.
    I have a couple of questions though.
    Ques 1 - You (and most other reviewers) claim a running cost of INR 2-3 if charged over a public charger. Public charger these days cost around INR 20/Unit + tax (or more). To me with this kind of charging cost the running cost should be almost double then claimed. Am I missing something? (Point to be noted here is that one would use public charging only over highways (or when driving long distance) where the range of cars considerably go down)
    Ques 2 - It is always said that the maintenance cost is very low which I agree. I am yet to see the cost of 15K service but am sure it will be much lesser then the cost of my previous diesel car. We however never hear about the insurance cost of these cars which I think should be very high considering the higher IDV of these cars. To me this amount should also be added to the TCO. Does anyone has any clue on the cost incurred during Insurance renewal so that we can get an idea on delta?

    • @motoroctane
      @motoroctane  ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Hey Vidit
      1. If home charger is 10/unit and public charger is 20/unit it is twice so it is 2.5/km.
      2. If we are including the higher insurance than Petrol and diesel even have on road registration taxation - which is almost 2ce of EV insurance

    I drive my Nexon EV Max from Titwala to Andheri daily from last 7 month which is when I purchased my car. My daily travelling is about 120-130 km round journey and I came across all types of roads during my journey to office. First village road with so many potholes then smooth cement road for about 10 km then I join Mumbai Nashik highway smooth journey till Thane and then Thane mild traffic till JVLR turn and then the horrible traffic of 18 km till Andheri for those 18 km time required is 1 hr 30 min in peak traffic since I was using it as my primary way of transport to office and home over all daily morning it took me 2 hr 30 min to reach office and while coming back it took around 4 hrs as the traffic is much dense in evening peak hours till Thane.
    Talking about range I get around 270-280 km based on above mentioned driving and road conditions and traffic only in City mode and Sports mode for around 10-15 min just for fun when ai found empty patch of smooth road with level 3 regen all the time.
    I also gone on long journeys too where on highway I get around 300 km range, where in city and traffic I use City mode with level 3 regen and on highway for cruising I use Eco Mode to preserve battery and regen level set to 1 to avoid any unnecessary slow down, because if you slow down too much then again you need power to regain speed. So plan accordingly as per traffic ahead and let reg level 1 slow you down. Till then traffic might get clear and with slight touch to accelerate you can regain speed even in eco mode.
    Yeah and I totally forgot to mention my total km run till date which is 16000 km in 7 months and cost to charge is around 50k max approx including home charging and fast charging on long trips.
    Thanks

      @@utkarshkakadey4437 8 years warranty is there on batteries, and they are actually expected to last longer. But yes, if your battery goes bad, buying a new EV might be a better idea as by then the tech would have evolved a lot more. Your old car will probably have to be scrapped though. That being said, Despite watching multiple favourable videos, I am still not inclined to get an EV. I will have only one vehicle, and I like making road trips. Seeing juts one fast charger at these charging points with no decent resting and eating options gives me range anxiety!

    All are talking about EVs and EVs but no one thinks about investment cost. Yes running cost is too less but what about investment cost. We have to pay 5-6 lakhs extra for EVs and for that you need to drive 5-8 years if your running is normal for office etc. After 5-8 years you are going to recover the investment cost. Again remember after 8 years you have to change battery which will cost you another 3-4 lakhs which no one is talking about. So where is saving tell me??
    EVs will be cost effective only if it gets available at ICE pricing which is going to take lot of years.
    What about charging time you need to wait for and even lack of charging stations. In Mumbai, lot of society still don't have charging stations due to space constraint.
    So as per me Petrol or CNG is still the best to go with.
    Reply to this if anyone can

      Hmm…Tiago ev starts at 8.5 lakh, comet ev at 7.98… where is the 4/5 lakh difference ? For ice u have to pay 10% as road tax,,, for ev zero!! For ice you pay 5 K & 10 k approx per service at each 5k kms and 10 k kms…in ev I have paid so much less…service is at 7.5 k and 15 K… and cost has been normally 2.5K - 4K …sometime just 880 rs… tyres, brake are less wear and tear so less cost, u don’t get tired after driving 500 k,s in ev but In ICE the vibrations and fuel fumes inside the car make me tired in 100-150 kms. I have been in traffic jams for 40 kms in city did in 4 hours…in ev not tired at all, in ice tired after 1/1.5 hour… EVs are quick pickup and ice is dragging and trying to just change gears…
      This is my personal experience in 76000 kms in one ev and 3000 in 2nd ev…I’m content with the fact that I don’t emit smoke and pollute the air

      @@vivekvivekahuja Thanks for sharing your experience. The difference I talked about is for Nexon , 12 lakhs petrol vs 16 lakhs EV. Again you must have charging station available in your society or at your place which is long way to go in Mumbai City at least. Also in such busy life, people don't have time to wait at outside charging station. I agree that you can save on maintenance. But that savings will go away once you have to change your battery. For small city like running, it will take several years to recover the cost.

    First of all, you are paying almost 4 lakhs more upfront to buy the EV. Then, to break even, you have to run the car for almost 6 - 8 years with normal city usage. After 8 years, the battery warrenty will be over, so you may need to buy a new battery which will eat up all the money saved till then. And even if you decide to sell the car, its resale value will be very less because the next buyer will factor in the new battery cost.
    EV makes economical sense only when your running is very very high.

    • @motoroctane
      @motoroctane  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dear Vinit
      If after 8 years car battery will die then by that logic petrol car engine should fail after 3 years of warranty. And you are comparing EV Max to Nexon, if your running is so low - go for EV Prime. Price difference 1.5 lakhs approx when compared to top model Petrol AMT.

    • @tejasupadhya3354
      @tejasupadhya3354 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@motoroctane his logic does make sense. Even 8 years for a non LFP battery is stretching it. 8 years is a very reasonable time line for a lithium ion battery to go below 80 % SOH. It is very expensive to replace. This should be kept in mind and shouldn't be dismissed as something trivial.
      Also the tata nexon ev being a first gen ev product , buyers will be cautious to go for it.

    • @robindabank12
      @robindabank12 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly my thoughts. It's like you are paying upfront in case of IC car whereas in case of EV you have delayed it for the time being. That's the difference I guess. Apart from that if someone is taking EV to save the environment then I guess he is living a delusional life as the battery does a lot of soil pollution and not to forget the source of electricity to charge the battery.

    • @vinitmohole4202

    Tires in ev have a lower life of the regular tire(as used in an ICE vehicle is used).. This is because of the very high amount of torque that it generates and thru the entire power band... Not to mention the breaking due to regen breaking. All contribute to higher tire wear and tear..
    So this point regarding ev tires having a better tire life compared to an ice vehicle is wrong..
    This along with better aerodynamic efficiency (to increase range) are the reasons why EVs have a different tire compared to an ICE vehicle
