It's because people who get these insanely high paying jobs to corrupt your children and cities were mostly the bullies of everyone's schools. They made people's lives miserable as kids and are now making communities miserable as adults. They have now empathy. No remorse.

As a highschool student that struggles with mental disorders and has experienced bullying, the school system is insanely corrupt, inadequate employees are hired for serious jobs, and they try to hide very simple supports that cost money. Insanely corrupt and something needs to be done about it. The ammount of times I’ve just gone home and called 911 because I felt that I would hurt myself is astonishing, all because I was pushed away but inadequate mental support staff.

I'm actually really good friends with some of my childhood bullies. And if I ever ran into any of the others, I'd probably just greet them as an old friend. The thing is, bullies can cause life-long mental, physical, and emotional scars. But teenagers are, quite frankly, very stupid and haven't quite grasped the concept that their actions can have lifelong consequences, especially to a still-developing brain. The thing is, I could hate them for what they did, but they were just dumb kids who didn’t know any better. And I don't deserve these scars that I now have to live with on a daily basis, but that's just what makes the whole situation shitty overall. That's why the teachers, staff, and the schoolboard _has_ to step in and take bullying seriously. When the superintendent is a former bullying who can't even admit to and apologize for the damage he's done, that's very concerning

It's pretty dumb, 35 years and still not over it. It's interesting how the bullying somehow became a bigger deal because the boy went home attempting to blow himself up with a 45. I've been to worse bullies but I never thought of hurting myself, I bet these bullies from my adolescent years were all worse than Mr. Hindt, but I never wanted justice brought to them, the past is the past, I'm not telling you to get over it easily, but stuff just happened, blame the system not the people, these were teenagers themselves who probably got violent from listening to all those gangsta rap songs, should I hate them or these no good motherfucking gangsta rappers?
A lot of people being harsh on this Lance Hindt guy coz he wasn't being apologetic from the very first moment, that's exactly how a normal human being would've reacted to such circumstances, it's easy for you to say the most righteous coz you ain't him. Everybody would've gone helpless and tried to escape in a situation like this let alone him being too successful already to give up on his career for this stupid shit he did 35 years ago which isn't murder or rape but simply beating up some classmate like many of you guys here probably did as a teenager. Everybody being hypocritical here makes me real sick. We gotta blame the system not the people besides it happened 35 years ago. I never once bullied a person in my life, I swear on my own life, I had always been a minority growing up, constantly alienated and picked on not by white people but other aisan kids, I wouldn't be slightly angry now that I thought of them ,
I just think this is too much for an old person who did something wrong 35 years ago probably trying hard to forget about it.
Like you might dump a girl once in a life time, and if she committed suicide, does that mean you should feel guilty for the rest of your life? Maybe many of us would, but should it be the case?

He is 100% in the right to call the dude out, if you felt someone wronged you enough to push you to the point, you’re going to call them out, he humiliated the prick and it was right, bully’s are feeble minded fucks who at some point need to be put in their place, and it always happens.... it’s just when it happens

  • @sunshinefashionlove

Not at all buying what this guy is selling. My BS meter is off the charts.
    1) Lance Hindt had no idea this story would go viral, that's why initially he didn't give a crap about Greg Barrett. He didn't think tens of millions around the world would know who he is and for negative reasons.
    2) 1983 lawsuit where he admitted in the deposition to severely injuring William Stein and leaving him unconscious in an alley - that's on a whole next level of psycho.
    3) Stupid, canned PR statement... (weeks after initial incident)
    4) Saw him outside school meeting laughing, smiling and taking selfies.
    5) True, devout Christians would never use the "Only God can judge me" card.
    6) Multiple witnesses who can not only back up Greg's story, but have their own horror stories
    7) Now that sh*t's hit the fan - he's in crisis mode and just now made a big show of wanting to meet with Greg. If Lance really had decent intentions he would have done it much sooner and privately.
Getting an extremely bad, douchey vibe from "Dr. Lance Hindt" and would say he's only doing damage control to help stop all the blow back and God forbid he lose his $375,000 a year sweet job! He's the worst kind of guy who will only do what's right if it makes him look good and helps his popularity.
The whole "people change" defense is also unacceptable to me. That totally dismisses and marginalizes victims of bullies. Often, the bully gets to go about living their lives, totally forgetting about all their past behavior, and never having to face consequences for their actions. Schools and teachers are only part of the equation, it's the parents' responsibility to actually teach children right and wrong to ensure they do not end up a garbage person like Lance freaking Hindt. Sydno Laser - How do you go from hearing a story about a kid so traumatized he put a gun in his mouth, to laughing when the man points out YOU were the one responsible? Especially when you've had decades to reflect and consider the possibility that some day your past might come back to haunt you?! Consider the man's position. He should have broken into a cold sweat, either dead silent or starting to stammer. But laughing?
That says it all about the guy's mindset: "Wwhaaaaa...? Someone actually stood here and told their stupid story of what I did to them when I was "just having fun" with him in grade school? He whined like a bitch about piddly kid stuff like that IN PUBLIC?! What a loser, LOL!"
There's a reason no one is buying any of his excuses. Just goes to show though, how often the exact WRONG sort of people attain power, because they seek it out deliberately. Sick.

"He was a vicious bully. He was a thug. He was a wealthy thug, but he was a thug," said Judge David Carpenter who presides over a criminal court in the state of Alabama.
Back in 1982 he attended Taylor High School with Lance Hindt and says he avoided being his victim, but bore witness to the football star's predatory behavior.
"He was physically threatening some of my teammates, just menacing them, standing over them and eventually started throwing weight plates at them, 25-pound weight plates at them," said Carpenter.
Carpenter says the bullying of weaker classmates by Hindt was frightening, intense and near constant.
"He liked to brag about beating up other people and at one point he even bragged about beating up a police officer," said Carpenter.

What an awful, awful person. It’s pathetic how the school board stood behind him. It really shows their stance on bullying, that they fully support it.
The victim is courageous for coming forward all these years later. He was mentally abused and physically assaulted yet he didn’t want the superintendent to lose his job. He wanted to prevent bullying, he didn’t want to get revenge. He wanted to handle it in a civil, mature manner.

Lance didn't deny anything. The closest he came was to admit that he, like everyone else, was not perfect. Then, he hides behind God, as though being a Christian means that he was incapable of ever being the type of person described earlier.I've seen lots of people like these two men. The one with the square jaw and the hairdo and the good suit. The other not quite so polished nor eloquent. Lance was indignant, and his alleged victim was clearly in pain after 30+ years dealing with the humiliation.I felt the sting of bullying in high school from the captain of the basketball team and all-round big man on campus. Thought he could do no wrong. He ended up working as a waiter for minimum wage and dying of cancer before he was 40. I saw him a few times after high school because we had a lot of friends in common. I was severely bullied when I was in high school in the 1970s, so much so that I quit when I was 16 because I couldn't take it anymore and my education was suffering because of it. I had my head slammed into lockers, was punched in the thigh so hard I couldn't walk, thrown down stairs, stabbed with drafting pencils and compass needles and burned by cigarettes after being hunted down by packs of bullies while trying to walk to my mother's workplace so I didn't have to ride the bus home and be trapped in a metal tube with a couple of the worst ones that lived in the country down the road from us. And they always came in packs, or attacked you from behind when you aren't expecting it, because at their core bullies are cowards. One day I was jumped from behind, knocked to the ground and kicked in the side of the head so hard that I was knocked unconscious for a moment. Thankfully another student's mother was driving by when it happened and helped me into the school. I was taken to our family physician that afternoon because a goose egg sized swelling appeared at my temple and they didn't know how serious it might be.
It was a small town and the faculty turned a blind eye, with one "guidance counselor" telling me that it was my turn in the pecking order and that's just how things are. No one was ever reprimanded or punished. As with any kind of child abuse, this kind of thing hangs with you for years, filling you with self-doubt and a sense of worthlessness, even though you know that logically you've done nothing to deserve it. If this kind of thing took place in a school these days the faculty would be brought up on charges, and rightly so. It's not about just shrugging it off and going about your business and ignoring it, or putting on your "big boy pants" or anything people try to excuse this kind of behavior with by pushing the responsibility off onto the victim. It is about mental and physical abuse targeted to specifically harm and sometimes kill others by pushing them to suicide due to pure hate. And this superintendent has the same attitude the faculty did where I went to school. If you let them get away with it they will continue. Who knows how many lives he has ruined. He should get no severance pay and should never be allowed to have anything to do with children again in his life. He shows no signs of remorse or ownership of his prior behavior. The mark of a true sociopath.

Can't he just admit he did it 35 years ago and say he has changed and his work has showed that? Why deny it? It's obvious he actually did it.

Lance needs to compensate Greg and anyone else he bullied.

Classic bully spent years doing the bullying and making lives of many miserable then tries to play the victim.

No apology? Just words to fire people up towards your agenda (the agenda being your own image). If Greg's words weren't enough then any more of mine are pointless

You can't judge someone for the things they did when they were a kid, but the fact that he didn't acknowledge Greg's pain is scary.

Any person that bullys and doesn't repent and make restitution, that person will face judgement from Heavenly Father. I wouldn't want to be in this guy's shoes. He will stand condemned before the Lord.

You can wrap a pretty bow around it and still turn a blind eye but it still happens an although people bring attention to it it still happens. I a bully is a superintendent he'll only deal with it if it makes their image look bad

    "I want to comment..."
Me: wait is he actually going to apologize?
    "I have spent 27 years..."
    Me: Yeah there it is

The woman who is fervently declaring, "Yes, yes, yes" must be repeating what she screamed out in ecstasy earlier while Lance was shtuping her. "Oh YES, Lance!!!!!"

Using god as an escape goat because you got called out. You almost caused the death of a another human. You should have apologized to the victim instead of trying to sweep it under the rug.
