  • Hello and welcome back to our yearly tier list update. We've added 4 exotics and updated our rankings based on buffs and nerfs over the past year. The tier list is purely focused on how impactful all exotics are in what I deem to be relevant content. That content is: Master Nightfall/Hunts, Garden of Salvation (although you can include most raids in this), Pit of Heresy, and seasonal activities that are of a high light level. I do not rank exotics for low tier content like heroic strikes, patrols, story missions because they are too easy to the point where your exotic choice will have no impact.
    However, if you watched last year's tier list or have simply been playing the game over the year, you may notice that not much has changed.
    The major adjustments from the previous list are probably Ursa Furiosa dropping massive points and Phoenix Cradle overtaking Hallowfire Heart. Helm of Saint-14 also gained massive points thanks to Weapons of Light. However, old favorites like Doom Fang, Skullfort, One-Eyed Mask still reign supreme over Titan exotic slots.
    Below are my tier lists, with 5 being the highest, 1 the lowest. Most of these could be flexed a half of a point or so based on personal preference and some of these have half a point margin of error based on the activity you're in. For example, melee based exotics tend to lose points in Master content due to the risk factor.
    PvP List starts at 10:10.
    PvE (Master content, raid, dungeon, seasonal activity, all combined, out of 5):
    5 - Phoenix Cradle, Doom Fang Pauldron
    4.5 - Insurmountable Skullfort
    3.75 - Hallowfire Heart, Helm of Saint-14, Wormgod Caress, Heart of Inmost Light

    2.25 - Peregrine Greaves, Synthoceps, Khepri's Horn, Peacekeepers, Actium War Rig (w/ Sweet Business), One-Eyed Mask
    2 - Ursa Furiosa, Mask of the Quiet One

    1.5 - ACD/0 Feedback Fence, Dunemarchers
    1.25 - Antaeus Wards, Eternal Warrior

      Datto you are completely wrong on Dunemarchers. Makes me thing you didn’t even bother testing it accurately, or even reading the description of the exotic perk...
      It is subclass neutral, gives a sprint and slide boost, and the chain lightning procs on ANY melee, charged or not.

      so true. Dunemarchers is easily top tier for pvp. Not necessarily the electricity, but that does help when meleeing(i once got a slayer with just electricity arcing), but the movement boost. Why do u think stompee5s and transversive are soooooo good and used so much? Because a boost in speed is extremely powerful in pvp(also slide distance).

      Dunemarchers are incredibly powerful. Not only is the added sprint speed a plus, but the fact that your SUPER “melee” hits will still proc with Dunemarchers. This is your light attacks during sentinel and fist of havoc.
      Not only that - but the amount of chaining is ridiculous. I’ve seen 5-7 chain kills (PVE) that works blindingly faster than arc web on a Warlock.
      You don’t even need to have your loaded melee ability. This works for literally any melee, so as long as you’re moving at top speed.

    Antaeus wards is definitely the most underrated exotic, I know that is hard to use and it’s only fits with only builds makes it a bit unpopular, but people use it wrong, they use it trying to deflect stuff, what I really use it for is the additional damage resistance that it gives, the way I mainly use is for aggressive play, like, I use it with a shotgun, than I slide, take less damage from the other player, end up reflecting some stuff, and it’s a free kill

    I must disagree with the dunemarchers decision, they’re basically Stomp-335 for the titan with the increases to sprint speed and slide distance, and that chain effect works weather you have an active shoulder charge or not easily the second best PvP exotic, behind OEM of course.

    • @zowbaid89
      @zowbaid89 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve been maining dune marchers lately. The bonus to movement speed and sliding is too much of a sacrifice for me to use OEM. Plus I get amazing kills with the linear actuators and sunspots of bottom tree solar class, it’s crazy how effectively they work together. It’s funny but I can’t use anything else now lol. Feedback fence is my second choice for PvP.

    Feels bad, definitely the dunemarchers are underrated. You dont need to shoulder charge to chain lightning and can do it indefinitely if you sprint after punching. actually decent for ad clear and can stun many pve enemies. The sprint speed increase us really invaluable for pvp, but this is only my opinion.

    Heart of Inmost Light got shafted here, it definitely deserves a 4.5-5 rating. It's so good at literally everything, and for titans at least there's little to no reason to not use it in PvE.
    It's basically Hallowfire Heart, but without the charged super requirement and it works for all subclasses.

    • @EightballHimself
      @EightballHimself 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What subclass would you recommend using Heart of inmost light with, and why?

    • @fyrusgrey5153
      @fyrusgrey5153 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hypnottize I always use it on top Tree striker. Two Empowered pulse Grenades deal a shit ton of damage to bosses, and they get recharged fast as well.
      Although yes, it does work amazingly on all subclasses, but that's my personal favourite. It may not be that usable on the bosses in GoS, but by god I've never seen more damage on Galhran when I used that combo. Each pulse (when combined with empowered, Striking Hand, and Emperors Shock) deals the same damage as a celestial, and you have TWO of them. Even more if in between damage periods you kill the thrall with your shoulder charge (which also charge and empower your Grenades).
      That's one specific scenario where it works really well, but there are so many others where it works wonders as well.

    Since the overshield on OEM is gone, the health regen should be instant like it used to be so you can actually engage and challenge the next player instead of cowering behind your barricade waiting for your health to regen as your short vengeance buff ticks to zero.

  • @uhoh9000
    @uhoh9000 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Two things.
    1) Khepris Horn can one shot a guardian in PvP. I have footage of someone on the other team in a Comp match wiping out 3 full health guardians by throwing his shield up to guard heavy as we were rushing it. If you play close quarters that exotic is actually very potent.
    2. Peregrine Greaves in isolation are just... fine. But when combined with Monte Carlo, it's actually a quite potent build in Master level content. Our strategy for beating the time trials last season, while underleveled, was to use Hammer Strike to one shot the Champions. It puts out a crazy amount of damage, even now after getting nerfed, and while it's a risky move you can also save a ton of special and heavy ammo by Hammerstriking the champions.

    For syntho, using bubble titans are super nice bc once you get a melee kill and gain the over shield, you also gain increased melee dmg, making its biotic enhancements 1 shot everyone, while you also gain hp back from each 1 hit kill. Just an fyi to anyone interested in running them in pvp. (Bottom tree strikers knockout is also a good pair)

  • @spidudetoo1212
    @spidudetoo1212 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    One detail you didnt mention is that middle tree striker titan melee gets more returns from synthocepts and dunemarchers. Only 2 enemies need to be near you for this melee to oneshot in PVP while using synthos. The perk can be procced either 5 seconds in advance, or the second you hit the ground with your melee, next to said enemies. It also allows you to instantly follow-up with a melee hit for a guaranteed kill no matter how far away they get pushed from the first hit.
    Dunemarchers make it so that if 2 enemies are hit with this melee, 1 is guaranteed to die instantly no matter the resilience. The first target will never instantly die, but any bystanders will automatically be killed. So if 6 enemies are hit with the initial melee, 5 will die. Remember that the dunemarchers perk stays active as long as you stay sprinting , even in the air. The perk only stops if you cease sprinting for 3-5 seconds.

    My favorite thing to do with the DuneMarchers is use siegebreaker because throwing the hammers as your melee ability also causes the lightening to chain and it chains from the hammer, so if you hit someone with it, and it lands on the ground next to them, they also will get electrocuted lol.

  • @tuck3771

    I use Mk. 44 as a Stand In (get it) for Skullfort bc of the overshield. Plus I feel like with Skullfort I get in the mindset of shoulder charging 24/7 which honestly hurts more than it helps. And if you pop your super while at full health with a full shoulder charge (it’s a lot of requirements I know) you get an overshield in your super as long as you keep sprinting. So it basically combines Skullfort and Eternal Warrior, but it works with all three subclasses. In pve I rate Mk. 44 over Hallowfire heart because you still get quick access to melting point, but you can actually use your super.

    I’ve used severance enclosure in pvp a little and I feel it’s actually pretty underrated. With shoulder charge, you can just run into groups of enemies and take them all out at once. Also, if you really want to just troll shoulder charge, the stand-aside’s overshield is great. People will keep shooting at you, but you can just keep running forward for that sweet sweet slam

    War Rig reloads Xenophage faster then it spends ammo. Really good combo using that and auto rifle of your choice. I like to use my Steelfeather with swashbuckler. I also think a great addition to this setup is Martyr's Ret with auto load holster and quick sling on it. Pop a grenade shot and insta switch to Xenophage for a handfull of shots, then back to grenade. You can keep that combo going without reload. Its a hell of a damage punch.

    Really surprised at how little you covered Dunemarchers. Not sure why you noted keywords like “shoulder charge” and “being on the ground” which is incredibly limiting to what they can do.
    Middle tree hammers? Sprint and throw your melee hammer at a group of Thrall (you don’t have to be on the ground, you can be in the air) - that single hammer will take out one thrall and chain arc damage and take out MORE than what you’d get from a single hammer in your super from top or bottom tree. I’ve seen chain kills near up to 5-7 in one melee. It’s ridiculously satisfying.

    Doom Fang Pauldron are my forever favorite for Titans. I wish they'd hurry up and patch the bug, though. Pair it with roaring flames x3 or sun warrior and you can do a large amount of burst damage in pve. Datto: Doesn't mention that any melee, doesn't have to be a shoulder charge, will activate Dunemarchers, and the duration to use the perk lasts a good bit.
    Me: Okay, I get it, not all of us are lords of lightning
    Datto: Doesn't mention the super slam combo with Swolloceps and ballistic slam
    Me: Guess he never tried it before in PvP
    Datto: Khepris are a novelty exotic
    Me: *Khepris, Martyr's, thermite grenades, and bottom tree sunbreaker* "Burn burn burn, set the world on fire". Also, Khepris can one shot kill guardians and also gets buffed from Sunwarrior or Roaring flames, resulting in actually pretty good PvE damage, although it is kind of a gimmick
    Datto: OEM is still the best for PvP
    Me: Alright you fookin cazul, lemme at em', lemme at em'.
    In all seriousness, OEM is good if you are a casual or playing low stakes PvP. But if you are playing against good players, you will either get instantly killed the moment you even stick your toe out the corner, or get your head taken off. Which makes OEM pretty useless. No high tier player in their right mind will give a player the chance to get their health back, let alone take advantage of OEM.
    But the biggest crime of the all: Datto dissed my Peacekeepers, which I religiously use in PvP.
    But the TRUELY greatest crime of all: Baby hammers can activate the new Titan chest piece, making people explode when they die. If you have roaring flame x1 and pick up a second kill, the roaring flames x2 buff affects the damage of the explosion. You can one hit kill a group of people with a single baby hammer. And with how often people like to clump togther as of late, you'd be surprised at how often I actually managed to pull this off.
    Pretty good list. I love using Actuim with MGs now. A dream come true, I've been wanting this and suggesting it for a while now. RIP Ursas though. Still holds value in certain PvR activities, but damn do I feel the difference. I used it to help people in the Thorn strike, especially in the last room. Still works well, but I only get about half my super back on average, compared to full super or almost full.

      @NotoriousUIG 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Peacekeepers are S-tier in PVP. The movement speed alone is worth it. Stacking this with moving target makes you nearly impossible to track by people who aren't highly skilled, and even skilled players will be thrown off by your strafe speed. This have saved my life on numerous occasions, when I've had to reload and the enemy couldn't even hit me to finish me off. The speed difference is so great that the game increases the FOV when the perk is active because you are too fast to be contained by the default.
      They can be used aggressively or defensively. Defensively, there's the auto-loading and the instant swapping, making it so that you are almost never caught out of position by a shotgun wielder barreling into your lane from out of nowhere. You will have a full mag with which to mow them down as you easily outrun them with your backpedal. Aggressively, running 2 SMGs is actually viable, because you basically have a single smg with an unending magazine, and you are faster than anything else on the map, so closing distance, or creating distance after a mistake, has never been easier.
      I think people don't like them because they don't have the ease of use of a peak OEM, or flashy ability regen like skullfort or dfp. People just aren't excited about passive ability buffs. And there's a learning curve. It's not that steep, but it does take getting used to being that fast.

    • @thebrotacogamer2944
      @thebrotacogamer2944 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NotoriousUIG Too bad handcannons dominate so much and the Peacekeepers just don't see the light of day. Most Titans that people see aren't even real Titan, they just hopped aboard when it got strong for a while. Meta hoppers I call them. What ruins this game more than anything is the lack of incentivizing a want to learn. To actually be a better player. I looooove Peacekeepers. I've paired it with Divinity to get the swap fast enough to get long range crits with SMGs. I especially love it with Fighting Lion and using the swap as the means to detonate the Lion and immediately cleaning up. I have a max range Antiope paired with my Calus Mini Tool. And the dumbest, absolute overkill strafe of them all: MIDA combo with moving target on the Minitool.
      Though it still isn't as funny to watch as a 10 mobility, keen scout MIDA, Radiant Dance Machine D1 hunter that can crouch strafe faster than people can sprint. Or close to it anyways. Those were good times. Back when people didn't depend on exotic armor to play a single class. Now all you see on the casual masses is Stompies and OEM and Contraverse. What a joke the crucible has come to. And people want Trials back.
      Apologizes about going on a bit of a rant. But it just really bothers me at how bland crucible is. I could play it mindlessly and probably pull 30 defeats or more.

    Hey Datto, just some feedback on your scoring system, I don't really get the point of adding all the decimals when ranking the exotics. When you compare a 3.5 to a 3.75, I ask myself if that information is really THAT relevant to be showing instead of just saying 3.5 or 3-4. It's like when IGN rates a game with an 8.3 and another with an 8.7. Is there REALLY any difference between them, you know?
