    Hello mike. Thanks for this useful tutorial. After few tries and dealing with stretched polygons I have tried to fit the cloth on T-Pose instead of A-Pose and it worked much better with no polygons stretching as much. Thought to let you know.

      It really depends on the item - some will work better in some positions and there's no real way of knowing. Just test it out and see.

    Ok Mike, I need to look at all of your tutorials and try to talk/pay you :) I am trying to learn basic clothes and not sure why the clothes in the marketplace just work. I am new to even character creation and am trying to learn.

    how did you import the clothing? lol i literally just saw it appear in the viewport....

      Sorry - sometimes using the screen capture app it doesn't capture all the menu commands. This is just the Create/Accessory (or Prop you can do it either way) menu item.

    Can't you just export it to blender and sculpt the cloth on character properly then bring it back to CC4?

    • @MikeDKelley
      @MikeDKelley  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All kinds of ways to defur this feline, but this is the easiest (you could also, for example, edit it in iClone. Or ZBrush. Or a ton of other things, but this keeps it simple).

    Hey Mike, I have a problem. Sometimes when I bring FBX clothing to CC4, it has no texture. I’d appreciate a tutorial, I can’t find anything.

    • @MikeDKelley
      @MikeDKelley  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This can be tricky. I do have a Python program that helps with this for Daz things, but for outside stuff you will need to do it manually. In essence you need to find out where the materials are stored because the FBX format does not include them - so they are generally outside files and depending on where you got the FBX they can be stored in a lot of different ways (that's assuming you downloaded them in the first place - if you don't specify downloading the materials as well you may not have). USUALLY they are in a folder in the main file that also contains the FBX file but not always. If you let me know where you got the file I *might* be able to give you better clues.

    Thank you Mike for this great method. applying the proccesed cloth model to a bigger and fater characther works like magic on iClone, iclouding animation . but when I sent it from iClone to Unreal Engine (5.1) the cloth became deformed and pixelated. I used fbx - not obj so maybe that's the case? anyway, what went wrong and how can one fix it? thanks a lot!

    • @MikeDKelley
      @MikeDKelley  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I'm so far from an Unreal expert it isn't even funny, but some other person asked me a day or two ago about a model they exported into Unreal that came out with misshapen verts so perhaps there is something going on between the two. What I suggested to them (that worked) was to first open up the FBX in Blender and if it's fine there (and it was) go from Blender to Unreal. But, again, once you leave the RL universe I'm basically a newbee so I'm sorry I can't help more.

      No, this process is only for CC3+ avatars.

    I made an armor for the arms but whatever i do there is no transfer skin weight option .CC4 seeing it always as a prop

    • @MikeDKelley
      @MikeDKelley  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm afraid I'd have to see a video to see what you are having trouble with because no matter what I do I can ALWAYS change a prop into clothing by doing the weight transfer.

    This simply doesn't work. When I import the .obj as a prop, the Modify panel does not show the conform panel... Same when I use "create accessory"

    • @MikeDKelley
      @MikeDKelley  ปีที่แล้ว

      Right, once you bring in the obj you need to convert it to clothing. I show this step in the video where you transfer weights.

    • @simple3d326
      @simple3d326 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      short and sweet answer is you have to attach your prop or accessory to your avatar first. then it will ask you to transfer the weights.

    Hello my friend, I have the vehicle interactions plugin full package, but there is a problem, the animations appear and work only in iclone 7, and they do not work and do not appear in iclone 8, what is the solution please

    • @MikeDKelley
      @MikeDKelley  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, but I know nothing about that plugin. Is it a Python plugin? If so, it will need to be "adjusted" for the Python in 8 (which is *slightly* different). If you have the source code I can tell you how to do this, but if the dev has compiled it then only he can do it (and you should contact him). If it's from RL themselves then definitely put in a trouble ticket. I know I had to change some of my Python code for 8 for my freeware, and I'd be glad to help you if you have the source. Otherwise, contact those folks I mentioned to have them sort it out.

    • @samorahero690

      @@MikeDKelley I have the plugin for cyclone 8 and it works, but the animation package is the one that does not appear in the motion file of iclon 8, but the animations appear in cyclone 7

    • @MikeDKelley
      @MikeDKelley  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@samorahero690 So the plugin works but the animations aren't there? The first thing I'd do is find out where they are stored in iClone 7 and then duplicate this in your iClone 8 directories (copy the files over there). But, again, asking the developer is probably the best, so if it's RL just file a trouble ticket and if it's a private one send them an email.
