Apparently, the clip of the two apples hitting each other made it into the movie, "Everything, Everywhere, All At Once", which is awesome.
Yeah, I knew I recognized that shot of the red and green apples! It's almost certainly this exact one.
A “fine apple mist” sounds like kind of perfume or something
"I was aiming for the fruit "
The man's lying and we all know it
Bunny Bro - Dan's an ex-military guy and knows a thing or two about marksmanship.... There was also that episode where Gav gave him a football to the head so hard you saw his skull move inside his face, some small revenge, perhaps?! ;)
Well, he's not lying because technically (i.e. botanically) nuts are a type of fruit.
0:46 "I was aiming for the fruit!" Yeah, Dan, and you hit Gavin in the plums.
"everything is sticky... But that's the sign of a good video."
We know what you meant Gavin ;)
"Everthing looks sticky"...."thats the sign of a good video" always
i’m i the only one who feels like it isn’t going slow enough?
emsyt It wasn't bright enough outside for them to go any slower. They need more light for higher framerates
the apple peeling bit is amazing :)
Now imagine it being on their old show, shot with a lot higher fps. Id much rather have quality > quantity.
"everything is sticky but that's the sing of s good video... That footage, especially the POV stuff"
... Right
It was nice to see your channel in the "Everything Everywhere All at Once" credits
i know right! i was surprised seeing that and even recognising it since it's only in the film for like 2 seconds lmao
@@imaginaryblue6796 huh maybe I should see the movie again to make sure, any reason to see it again I'll take it since it's so good! lol
"Everything is sticky, but that's the sign of a good video"
-Gav
;-)
"some of that footage looked top. Especially that POV stuff."
- Also Gav
XD
You guys talk about it being refreshing and tasty, while i'm thinking: Uhg, that would get me SO sticky!
6:10
"Everything is sticky."
"Everything is sticky, but that is a sign of a good video."
Well.
For those who think they should have made it slower, they couldn't, the lighting was overcast, which makes shooting at slower speeds harder cause the shutter cant let as much light in per frame so we'd be watching a very dark video if they tried to make slow it down further. Gavin even states that after the first collision.
yeah you'd think with the budget they had they could afford a lighting setup...
the clip of the two apples hitting each other made it into the movie, "Everything, Everywhere, All At Once", which is awesome.
6:30 I saw some Dragonfruit's in the background. I wanted to see a mist of black, small seeds
I used to watch this channel for ridiculously slow footage, and while 1000fps is slow. I enjoy the 28000fps or greater videos way more, even if that frame rate is not really necessary. The footage of the apples is just too fast. I never would have noticed that frame that Dan talked about if they didn't point it out.
Yea, it'd be nice if that super cool moment lasted more than 1-2 frames. 1000fps might have been fine for the general impact, but to see the specific detail of that "peeling" part needed much higher framerate to stretch that moment out. Another shot with lower resolution but higher framerate for that part would have been nice.
"Everything's sticky"
"Everything is sticky, but that's the sign of a good video"
;))))
0:40 "I was aiming for the fruit"-😂
when he said ' i was aiming for the fruit' . gav was like ' which one?'
Good but could definitely be better at 28,000 frames, 1,000 didn't show much
I still want it to be slower.
4:20 Dan " I was trying to get fruit "
Also Dan : aims for Gavins berries with an orange"
Everything Everywhere All at Once brought me here.
Feel like this one could have gone a bit slower, just me?
Gavin wanted to put a better lens to get a slower shot but the lighting wasn't bright enough to capture it in slow motion.
Kevin Mckinstry if only there was a way to make things artificially brighter. Some sort of bulb containing light.
They couldn't, the lighting was overcast, which makes shooting at slower speeds harder cause the shutter cant let as much light in per frame so we'd be watching a very dark video if they tried to make slow it down further. Gavin even states that after the first collision.
We want to see even slower
i agree! its a shame the show is all pre-recorded because it has a lot of really cool ideas and were executed beautifully, but the shots that they took wasn't slow enough like their other videos (like the glass breaking, or the disc one). but probably it is because they want to have better resolution of the action and also for the interest of time.
@king andrew polo No you don't, they have even said that this show isn't TH-cam Red. How about you do some bloody research before you go spreading lies. God, people like you irritate me.
2:44 it seems almost like a high energy particle physics experiment.
6:08 "Everything is sticky" "That's a sign of a good video"
I think they could have done some of the shots even slower. Especially the apple closeup
Seems like they are trying to keep the resolution as high as possible for the sake of 4k. Previously, Gav had no issues lowering the resolution just so he could go slower. My hunch is that the producer wants everything to "look good" even though the point of the channel is to "see things you couldn't normally see" by cranking the FPS as high as it can go.
That would be a perfect orange juice commercial.
"Well, everything is sticky.
06:09
Everything is sticky, but that's the sign of a good video.
06:11
- That's true. - Some of that footage looked top, too,
06:13
- especially the P.O.V. stuff. - So difficult to get."
I'd like to see 'beans' turned into a standard measurement unit.
"how fast was it goin?"
"oh, about 175.4 beans"
"Everything is sticky but that's a sign of a good video. Some of the footage was top, especially the POV stuff."
“It’s sticky-the sign of good video” this phrase can be used in so many situations
0:41
Dan- "i was aiming for the fruit"
Girls- "that's a fruit"
every time i see dan's non broken arm im like, IS THIS IT???
"Everything is sticky, but that's the sign of a good video" Couldn't agree more.
"is that fruits per second?"
"it is not."
A big part of me watching these videos is because of your guys' combination of humility and wit, thank you for the awesome videos :)
6:09 "Everything is sticky!-- But that's the sign of a good video. " *insert Lenny face here*
"The apple didn't have enough beans to get into the watermelon" is now my go-to phrase for my many daily failures.
A massive buildup in pressure followed by a rapid release, you say, lads...? Mind your fruits!
...
"Everything is sticky!"
"Sign of a good video".
Newtons: Force
Mass: Matter

Beans: Beans
Beans: The amount of times someone calls out in a staten island movie theater "What is that, beans?"

how the death star scene was actually filmed
"everything is sticky but that's the sign of a good video" - Gavin Free 2018
was i the only one waiting for the collision between two watermelons?
I was hoping for different fruit to go up against each other like apple vs orange.
0:37
"I was aiming for the fruit"
"everything is sticky. But that's the sign of a good video" 🤣 🤣 🤣
I never fail to be impressed by how competent Dan is, especially considering how goofy and bumbling he's played up to be on this channel.
This is like the ' FRUIT NINJA SHOW '
For me thats one of the best slow mo guys video
I really wanted to see the dragon fruit they had sitting in the back.
6:10 "Everything is sticky but that is a sign of a good video." Bow chika bow wow
Everything is sticky, and that is sign of a good video...
Suggestion: Please try to slow it down a bit more
@ 2:42 Gavin states that he would stick on a 90 degree shutter angle if it was bright, a 90 angle = 1/96 speed. Which is very slow but when you slow it down more or in this case, take more frames per second less light is allowed into the camera which causes the picture to come out darker. If the shot it at 1/96 speed we'd be watching a very dark video.
These aren't slow-mo-ee enough
Gavin usually preferred frames over res but the sponsor probably demanded 4K
I am loving this show guys
"Everything is sticky, but thats how you know its a good video"😂😂😂😂
3:51 those oranges got reJUICEd to nothing!
Okay I’ll let myself out ._.
Is anyone else here from the movie Everything Everywhere All at Once? The shot at 2:57 is in the movie.
I'm really happy I caught that, came to compare and found I was right. Just watched the movie last night btw. It was excellent!
I could literally watch this for hours which I have been
6:08 out of context
Dan: "everything is sticky."
Gav: "everything is sticky but that's the sign of a good video."
Dan: "true"
What a waste! A child in Africa could have eaten the energy needed to propel the fruit.
The sound it makes while shooting is *mental* !
“You know it’s a good video if everything is sticky”
My guys, you gotta phrase things better
This was a really fast slow motion video
I really think you should make the slow motion wayy slower ...
They couldn't, the lighting was overcast, which makes shooting at slower speeds harder cause the shutter cant let as much light in per frame so we'd be watching a very dark video if they tried to make slow it down further. Gavin even states that after the first collision.
"Everything is sticky but that is a sign of a good video" I see what you did there!!!
Thanks for such a juicy video.
Am I the only one, who'd like this to be a lot slower? The Apple-Apple impact seemed really cool. Yet we're only seeing the aftermath :(
Gavin wanted to make it slower, he even stated that he wanted to put a different lens to get a slower shot but since the lighting was overcast they wouldn't be able to get the shots with out them looking like they were shot at night.
Is it just me or is the slow motion not as slow as it used to be
“Everything is sticky but that’s the sign of a good video”
"Everything is sticky, but that's the sign of a good video"
1080p and higher frame rate would be better in this case.
That was some truly incredible footage!)
He aimed at the "great" fruit. I'm dead XD 🤣🤣🤣
"I was just aiming for the fruit!!"
His fruit..........
5:33 Reminds me of Audrey II from the movie Little Shop Of Horrors!! xD Anyone else remembers that movie? :D
as usual this was randomly amazing
"Everything is sticky but that's the sign of a good video." -- I'm thinking Lexi Belle would agree.
Hey Gav, the apples did not impact at 100 mph, it was a 54mph impact. Each apple was traveling at each other at 54mph and came to a stop at 0mph resulting in an impact force from 54mph not 100. The myth busters did a revision episode about this.
Thank you! I stopped the video and immediately looked for this comment. This is one of those physics misunderstandings which has reverberated through our society and must be stopped. Also, yeah, Mythbusters did it.
skipopotamus I mean it does the same amount of damage if one apple was still, and the other apple was moving at 100 mph right?
Except, a wall wouldn't be moving towards the apple at 54mph, the if one apple was floating solid mid air, then it hit it, that's 54mph, but because both apples were going at each other that doubles the speed
XENIQ
The relative speeds and total energy _are_ doubled. The deceleration-hence the damage of impact-will be the same.

"I was aiming for the fruit"
congrats, you got them ;)

"Everything is so sticky"
"That's the sign of a good video"
If u kno wat i mean 😏😏
6:10 "Everything is sticky. But that's the sign of a good video."
This is still TH-cam, right? I don't remember switching to incognito.
I like it when the Big Nose gets hurt. It makes a welcome change.
the sound of the orange hitting the other orange looks like the sound of a lightning bolt
"Is that fruits per second?"
"It is not."
Good
