Welcome to my channel, I'm Elektra Bones and today I'm here to talk to you about a star that shines brightly in the current firmament of our Italian landscape.
No, we won't be talking about astronomy in this video! But I'm referring to that extraordinary boy who goes by the name of Yannik Sinner
For the few who don't know him, he is a tennis player, or rather THE tennis player. The one who has achieved the greatest goals in the history of our tennis. Our first number 1!
But Yannik is more than just an athlete, he has now become one of those celebrities who go beyond the boundaries of their professional and geographical sphere, transforming themselves into true universal icons, capable of taking a small space in history, becoming a myth.
But who is Yannik Sinner?
How did he become the important and celebrated character he is today?
Come and find out with me, in this new video.
Ready to go?
Let's go!
Yannik Sinner was born on August 16, 2001 in San Candido, in Alto Adige, but grew up in Sesto Pusteria in a German-speaking family. He approached tennis at the age of three and a half, but his first great passion was skiing. Where he achieved excellent results very early, winning the 32nd Gran Premio Giovanissimi 2009 at the age of 7. At 12 he was the Italian skiing champion in his category!
No offence to ski enthusiasts, but fortunately for us tennis lovers, at the age of 13 and a half, Sinner chose tennis!
He often listed the reasons for this choice in some interviews given by our carrot
Because of the excessive length of skiing training compared to the short duration of competitions and also the greater possibilities that tennis offers to recover from disadvantageous situations.
As his first coach, Andreas Schönegger, would tell, his mother would bring Sinner to him in San Candido, at the age of three and a half, using these words: "Bring him out of the house because he's destroying it!"
In fact, it seems that the little carrot played with his father's racket, bouncing the ball off mirrors, doors and windows!
Two hours a week of tennis were not enough for Yannik, so at the age of 7 and a half, he moved to the Tennis Club Bruneck in Riscone (Brunico), to train with Heribert Mayr.
Who contributed significantly to his technical growth.
Sinner will recognize both of his first coaches for the honesty of having handed him over to a more capable and professional teacher or structure when they had nothing more to teach him.
When coaching is also attention and love towards one's students.
Sinner's next stop will be in Tuscany in Forte dei Marmi.
But he will not stay there long.
Massimo Sartori, Andreas Seppi's historic coach, recognizing Sinner's talent, will insist that Riccardo Piatti see him.
Piatti at that time was one of the most prepared coaches on the circuit and had obtained great results by leading many of the players he had worked with to reach important goals. Ivan Ljubicic, Milos Raonic, Borna Coric and Richard Gasquet are just some of the names that passed through his academy. But Novak Djokovic had also chosen Piatti for a short period, and this says a lot about the esteem and importance that Piatti had on the circuit.
When, despite his thousand commitments, and after Sartori's umpteenth insistence, he finally decided to observe the very young Yannik, Piatti was struck and said: "Listen, Max, how can we adopt this one?"
And he immediately decided to have him transferred from the Club Italia in Forte dei Marmi (where he had never played because he was already too strong compared to his peers) to Bordighera! And exactly to the Bordighera Lawn Tennis Club. Imagine that, the first Italian tennis club. Born only one year after the one in Wimbledon, in 1878!
And finally, Sinner's journey will end in 2018 when he will move to the Piatti Tennis Center, also in Bordighera.
Thus the Yannik Sinner project was born, led by Piatti but which involved many many other professionals.
Yannik will move permanently and will be practically adopted by the family of one of his coaches, the maestro Luka Cvetkovic. With his children who will become like second brothers for him!

Molto bello. Ottimo testo. Recitazione professionale e montaggio alla Kubrik. Bravo. Ora però non perdere tempo con il lavoro e mettiti sotto per il seguito della storia. Che son curioso di sapere se Sinner è un flop o meno.
Mah, secondo me il ragazzo ci darà soddisfazioni! Cmq Capo voglio l'aumento, questo è un lavoro duro e faticoso!
