As for quick summaries of my thoughts on the new cards:
-Cyanos is good for setting up plays going first, if Machine Link ever becomes a thing(besides Orcust) that and Roze are going to be mainstays for it, pretty good. The Machine ED lock means its on-field effect is best used as an extender rather than a starter if you want to bring out S:P or Accesscode Talker somewhere in your plays.
-Camellia needing to activate the floating effect separate from the turn it's Special Summoned limits its potential significantly, having a dump option going first is REALLY helpful for setup though. I like dumping Raye with this if you open ANY amount of Engage, though setting up 3 spells in GY quickly is useful for the usual reasons.
-Temprence has niche utility over S:P in some cases where spot banishes on monsters can trigger floats, since the equip option keeps them on the field. Having to be destroyed by battle to float kind of forces you protect it with Eagle Booster if you want to see that effect reliably though(but it can also summon things from hand which could be neat sometimes, you can also run Ciela or float a H.A.M.P. that you crashed into for situations where that helps with clearing a board since it just specifies "Sky Striker" monster and not ACE).
-S.P.E.C.T.R.A. is something for Orcust to go into under Crecsendo lock, just use Amblowhale if Cyanos has you stuck on Machines.
-Engage Zero is best utilized as a way to set up the Linkage attack bonus more effectively. Raigeki is awful this format if people are going to be anything like Unchained, Horus or Fire Kings and an extra way to do that effect is only going to be good sometimes(the negate effect is nice at least, and can even hit itself if you need to link off into Shizuku after a series of Linkage attacks that don't quite OTK).
Though overall, what Sky Striker needs most are better coverage against other backrow decks, an overhaul on its current Spell/Trap offerings(maybe some hand traps treated as Spells by Sky Striker cards with the "standard" activation condition just needed as a way to activate them from hand), and SOME card that stops the deck's older spells from being stuffed competely by having a monster in the MMZ. My best ways of solving this in the past were things like running a Bystial Engine and Sinful Spoils Silvera, and while the new stuff helps with using THOSE things, it doesn't do a whole lot for the "Solo Mode" strategy besides throw in some new tools that reinforce existing tactics like Monster Theft and Linkage OTK.
Tbh, modern backrow decks that are somewhat viable & some meta have some form of backrow protection or ways to build it up again seconds after being wiped.
So for striker having backrow protection other than Multirole's "cannot be reponded" active effect, wouldn't tackle the fact that the opp could just give us a kaiju just to make our turn dead.
Using the effect of Engage Zero to negate itself would not allow it to be used as link material, since "Cannot be used as Link Material" is not treated as an effect.
what does floating mean?
@@kayne_vk basically it allows you get other monsters from the destruction of another card sometimes to the hand sometimes to the field. generally on the field is better except in rare use cases
Sky striker needs monsters that go into the spell and trap zone as secondary effect, or a Boss monster that is treated as a spell while in the monster zone, allowing you full use of your spells
I'm considering playing the deck focused on stealing, with Mind control and Change of heart, as we have more link options now.
With Cyanos you can play Enemy controller; you can evade Veiler and Imper and always bring Roze and take control of an enemy monster in the process.
I like the support. The extra toolbox off extra deck is nice. Let's us get a bit more breathing room for spell searches. Cyanos just letting us climb while sticking to aces and Temperance just being another removal is neat.
It's like you said, it's just powercreep. For striker to be meta relevant again it needs a card dumber than Engage alongside it. A card that just generates massive value. Because that's just the norm nowadays.
cyanos and engage zero seem to be the only kinda useful cards. camellia is interesting for the dumping effect but idk. I might run little knight instead
I'd cut a Cyanos for an Eagle Booster. 2 Cyanos imo is solid and you don't want too many monsters. Booster is also the most value card off Engage and just lets your needed link resolve. Plus it's the best turn pass set card especialy with Multirole, and you can just hold widows for the follow-up.
Booster is the most value???
Bruh
@@katsuragirin6168Booster basically says either Kagari resolves for Engage regrab or set it and your shizuku is a towers and you don't reallly need to much anything else off multirole. Yes. It's pretty value.
@@MH_ZardI'd rather have pot of desires or another handtrap like beller droll ogre than eagle
@@cnydoCool. You do you. Eagle does wonders for me.
@@MH_ZardI agree eagle is mandatory in any striker list and I’ve been playing striker since it came out
Happy to see you upload. Even it's a single replay a week. Love the Sky Striker Simp Guy.
These new cards are fine for what they do. Cyanos can climb up to Link 3s all by itself(letting you pull some wacky stuff in other machine decks like Orcust) though the machine lock means you want more specific options than former popular picks. I like Amblowhale more than S.P.E.C.T.R.A, it can float into your other Links which is nice since all of those can float into Raye afterwards to add an extra defensive layer to your plays(and the extra non-targeting pop from its other GY effect is also nice).
The most important thing with them now is having enough plays to actually go first if you want to now. And that's actually REALLY useful in this format in particular where the only blind second decks you have to deal with are not in best position to deal with your stuff effectively(Tenpai will be annoying in the future and might Prompt me to do janky stuff with Cynet Mining via Iblee and Meowmine if that gets too popular, but isn't necessary now).
So, sky striker better be going first in this format?
Randomly pulling a royal Camelia and Engage Zero lead me to this video
Best new cards are the alts for Kagari and Engage. This alone tells a lot about the support.
So sky striker is better when u go 2nd?
Yes
@@reinstriver5432 if we got 1st turn, what set do we need? widow anchor and imperm?
@@illusomni4 Sadly those aren't guaranteed unless you draw well. Your usual bet is whatever interruption you can set up + Shizuku to search engage for turn 3. That's why Striker is a going second deck, we want to break boards and out-resource our opponent after they've committed to a board
It's an interesting decklist
Hello kevin, long time no see
never seen a i:p masqurena in a sky striker deck? Must be used to get into ur link 3's
It’s an option to go into for example if you’re desperate summon IP, widow to steal your opponent’s monster, and now make Azalea Temperance etc. More options = more interaction = higher chance of winning
It's an option to make actual use of Camellia's floating effect(which can be risky without tools like a Meowmine bounce or S:P's temp Banish but still nice against decks that need specific mats to do things). It comes up a lot more often in builds on Orcust, Snake-Eye, or Spright engines.
Konami need to ban Maxx C asap in this format.
Don't get me wrong, I love Maxx C, and helps me a lot going 2nd. But, when ure going second, you got no Ash, no Called by The Grave, no Maxx C before, and your opponent have a deck that can one card combo CONSISTENTLY, and practically their board almost unbreakable, they guarantee follow up after u breaking them and you fail otking them, and when you start your turn they Maxx C you, that feeling is really2 horrible..
Im testing, linkage at 3 is the only reason the new support looks "good". I removed multirole and added avarice. Spectre sucks sadly, not completely horrible but it takes space in the extradeck.. i started playing raigeki because omninegates arent that oppressive in this meta and won me games. Overall, idk
I've been considering change of heart. If they negate cyanos, you can take and make Camilia to get to three spells, but then the best machine you can end on is Amblowhale. I've also been on raigeki.
Maxx c should be banned. Its too toxic
Cyanos is a big disappointment. The opponent simply needs to destroy Roze and you can no longer play.
Why you mean? Sky striker link monsters are machine. Link it off into a link 1, and you can make other plays
@@sdy.deathcall9608 Cyanos is not an ACE monster. You cannot link it away. Now your main monster zone is blocked, and you can't activate anything.
El Exordio play Striker smarter. Only one Cyanos for less brick hands.
It’s lit
When I saw the new card dropped I knew you where going to pop u wb 🫡
