The thing is in his old specials he was able to make them sound different. My guess is, he's just getting old, and has trouble reaching the full range that ten years ago he pulled off easily.

Prior to the 2016 presidential election, an alleged affair that Trump had with Stormy Daniels, a pornstar, back in 2006 was leaked. Obviously, an extramarital affair would obviously piss off anybody's spouse, hence the joke "Stormy patch."
