Getting better all the time. Have a look at the just released Templar's Gear Duty version of the Cataphract (with III-A soft-armor from Ace Link Armor).
I run a Norwegian army M07 BA carrier, with a similar plate composition in Ukraine now. iiiA soft all round (it's a similar cut to what you get on a BALCS cut soft armour. There are pouches for the SAPI plates (I run lv4 standalone (what i have)). So it's quite a heavy setup, i could do with picking up some lv4 ICW plates instead. My soft armour has just expired however, and not going to get any more to fit this M07 BA vest - so looking at a new vest, armour and plates. The DM APOC seems like a great option. The amount of guys who cut around Ukraine with low profile JPC's is insane when 99% of the injuries are from shrapnel. I'd loose the hard plates before I loose the soft ones. Groin protection also a good shout. Thanks for the vid.
Youre always my favorite soft goods reviewer man, you should be way bigger than you are. Keep up the great work and it was nice to see you at SHOT. I tried to go onto the TLD website to buy a patch and the merch page is blank, not sure whats going on there. Maybe its my browser.
Dude. What a sick plate carrier. Absolutely love the placard retention. It’s something that kills me about other systems. Plus the dual armor inserts and adjustable straps that actually have a place to put the slack is great.
I've been asking Agilite and other for a while now to make a large soft ballistic vest that also accepts rifle plates, and that is secure like a plate carrier. So ballistic 3a protection all around, maybe the new and thin SafeLife Defense panels, but then also a way to safely hold plates above that. Like the new german MOBAST vest - but better! This would appeal to a lot of police/swat teams that mostly face handgun threats and appreciate greater soft armor coverage while also having rifle protection (ideally from thin and light level3 or level 4 ICW plates). But vehicle turret gunners and grunts that mostly dig trenches against artillery shrapnel could also use it. Even more belly and side protection than BALCS.
The final shape of the k19 suggests it was originally supposed to fit soft armor and was later cut down to save costs. I still run soft armor backers in mine but that's not the same thing as having full 3A protection all the way around by any means
Walsh I made a frag cloak for a friend using heavy wool and dynema. 30 lays of dynema in an outer wrap of heavy wool then double stitched and its keeping him warm Ukraine right now and taken a few loads of frag.

Just a quick question as a new guy to this armor stuff. How would I measure myself for BALCS armor? I’m planning on purchasing one of these but a little lost. Thanks in advance!
I’m pretty sure you can use Shaws soft armor with plates since you swap out the spacer mesh pontoons for the soft armor and doesn’t interfere with the plates in the pockets

What soft armor fits? Does DM not sell armor? I am looking for large soft panels to increase the coverage of a light PC. Specifically got the idea of using velcro strips on the wear side of the plate bag to add and remove soft panels like Shaw. Are there any other soft panels like that or any other attachment mechanisms?
The main apoc is Balcs cut but they do over different variation for different IIIa panels. DM doesn't currently sell their own armor at this time....I don't think. DM has that same inner velcro option for their hybrid cummerbund but I think the panels are only shaw....possibly Javlin concepts too.
@ThinLineDefenseCo I see the velcro on the wear face of the AJAC. Am I correct, that those are only for cushions? I'm going to sew velcro on my own PC. I need help finding more armor that can attach on its own because I can't do the same to my armor by sticking needles through it. The next best thing is Qore IMS pouches, but I don't trust them and at that point I'm basically wearing 2 PCs, so I'd like to avoid that
I really like DM designs, however i often feel a bit like I got Catfished. Jacket lasted a whole winter season before it fell apart under a plate carrier. I do like just how flexible their gear tends to be though. Most places dont think of security personnel & i cant really blame them but their gear does seem to work for odd needs. I wear mine 80 hours a week & while it does fit my needs the consumable aspects is just alot to get though for myself at least.
