I've been listening to this for nearly 40 years and it's still brilliant. I have no idea what JoJo is but good luck to him, wherever he is.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a japanese anime where we follow the adventures of the Joestar family from 1889 to 2011, the particularity is that literally every name is a reference to a band or a singer. And in part 5, Golden Wind, the power of the main villain is called King Crimson in reference of the group King Crimson and their songs Epitaph and 21th century schizoid man
he is dead in the majority of the manga parts
This is a respectable comment, have a nice day random person on the internet.
@@wilhemreuqcag231 The anime doesn’t lead up to 2011
I love this comment and also GG
I grow with King Crimson. Now I'm 65.. thanks for all. Special for EPITAPH!
I started listening to king crimson because of JoJo I never knew I would end up loving King Crimson this much Thank you Araki for showing me this amazing band
@Xulfeks77
Hello kindred spirit. I've actually known about King Crimson for years, yet only started listening to them after Golden Wind.
Welcome.
I've been listening to them since Halloween/Samhain 1969 when the radio station played " 21st Century Schizoid Man", it blew my mind !
Promise me that if this pandemic ever ends that you'll get tickets to their concerts.
Go to more than One.

What dose this have to do with jojo
@@Soft_Machine Nothing.
King Crimson is a band that has been around since 1969!!
I believe that JoJo used the name "King Crimson" as one of the characters in the anime cartoon.
Welcome!
Stick around you might learn something and enjoy yourself too.

@@Soft_Machine The Boss of the mafia In Jojo Has a Stand named King Crimso and a sub-Stand Named Epitaph
The perfect ending. A mysterious and dark instrumental.
I love how it sounds like the drums are trying to murder the guitars, while the bass is just being all sad about it.
Oh, I feel like Tony could tell them both to behave if he “felt” that way.🍻🦗

This is what happens when you put Robert Fripp and Adrian Belew in the same studio. Brilliance
I heard that Belew was fed up with Fripp, telling him to leave the studios and perhaps this showed by him playing the most ferocious, angry solo of his career on this track. Fripp apparently disappeared off to Wimborne for a few days - could anything be more 'prog'
I used to think Adrian was the easy-going one in that version of the group, but I now think that honour goes to the genial Tony Levin!
@@Poseiden2 They can do wonderful things together but I also heard that Fripp in his earlier days was quite difficult to work with this was coming from Bill Bruford and Jon Wetton.
C'mon Man, they were all awesome and equally important on this Masterpiece. I don't reallycare for Fripp but this in unimaginally good.@@Poseiden2
@@lennypignatello7493 - Fripp is notoriously difficult to work with, by all accounts.
@@Poseiden2 - I think that's accurate on Levin. While everyone else was arguing, he'd slip out of the studio and come back when they were all settled.
Fripp's guitar is like a dental drill boring into your cranium.........
I think the one sounding like a drill is actually Adrian Belew. 😁
@@ericbrunel8933Adrian's part came around 2:53 and the mad guitar sound during the last parts was Robert's
Robert Fripp was and is a genius! This piece is a sublime artwork!
Adrian Belew was a major contributor of this generation of KC.... King Crimson has many different stages of evolution, similar to how David Bowie metamorphosed into different versions of himself. KC of the 60's ad 70's was way different than the KC of the 80's. Compare "Islands" to "Beat" and you will see what I mean.
It's not Sublime, it's King Crimson lol

Do believe KC will stay for a while. Fripp is 74, Covid stopped tours. He's doing good with help from Toyah with Sunday lunch on u tube. Think he made a deal with them. Money talks.
im not usually a fan of king crimson's improvised tracks, but this one slaps.
Didn't even realize this was improvised, thought it was a solid composition lol

I think this is the single greatest king crimson song if not the greatest song ever that I have listened to.
Not even an exaggeration
i don't know why but this specific track has helped me see that metaphorical "thread" connecting all of kc's eras
Such a good ending to this album. Leaves more questions than answers.
THIS
Ah! This was in my will as the music I wanted to be played at my funeral - but as time has gone on (and everyone I wanted to annoy at my funeral has already died) - it's now 4'33" by John Cage (although I'm no longer planning a funeral - just feed me to the fish...)

THE DEVIL'S TRIANGLE OF THE BELEW ERA
oh damn, I never thought of it that way. this brings a more interesting insight towards Requiem for me. thanks!
The original unedited version had really grown on me actually, but it's still great
Man, Levin's bass sections towards the end of the song makes the whole thing make sense. Advanced music composition on Levin's part, just ingenious and saves the piece.
I can't go back and listen to this after hearing the extended version, the soundscapes fripp makes at the beginning sound like a peaceful garden at morning
Have always loved this piece. Pure brilliance!
The first time I listened to this song right as the song started I started crying and couldn’t stop this is an amazing song
Same, and STILL, and every time
Mr Bill Bruford going absolutely apeshit on the skins for you, ladies and gentleman
Bruford?
I didn't listen to this since almost 40 years, have to put the record on again. THX Mr Fripp
新生クリムゾンの最高傑作がこの曲です。
it's like something off of SABB or Red but drenched in 80s production.
King Crimson Requiem. Here's to what could have been. RIP Diavolo :(
This has "Fuck off, I'm a time god!" energy to it
I don’t know what that means but I agree.
The world
This is requiem
I know it seems more JoJo refrence-esque, but the sheer aggression of the tone makes me feel like It's a Doctor Who speech
Worthiness is the key to success.

Crimson's been my favorite band since the mid-80s. They are in a league of their own.
👍🙏
People often call 'Beat' the most accessible Crimson album, but they must be forgetting this savage closer which brought back memories of the Wetton era at its most untamed! Not easy if you're not in the mood, but it's a clever representation of 3 stages of grief - the almost religious, dignified opening section, followed by the howling, untamed middle part and the drained, downbeat outro.
When I was a kid,I had Discipline on side A and Beat on side B of a TDK 90' chrome MC,without song titles, but knowing Elephant Talkin' from TheCompactKC,I usually called this track Elephant Dying,(in fact turning the tape after ET,I got Requiem from minute 5:00 ,with the brilliant solo that seemed to me, and still seems, like an elephant wheezing.
Dude i love this beats!
No one can escape the fate that was chosen for them. All that remains is the end, where you will all perish. Eternal greatness exists only within myself. Sing a song of sorrow in a world where time has vanished.
Дима, бл*ть, ты чё. Проснись, уже понедельник, на работу пора
Bravo!!

Brufords the master drummer❤❤❤ fripp the master guitarist love tlp 777 ❤❤❤❤
One of my personal favorite tracks from the band. Bruford is great here. I like even more the extended version they uploaded in 2019. It's so atmospheric and haunting. I sometimes wonder if Araki got inspired by this when creating Chariot Requiem.
It is not improvisation. It is conceptual composition
Nah, i don't think that Araki have listened to more albums, than In The Court of The Crimson King

I disliked a lot of the stuff on discipline and on this album, beat. But this track easily makes me forget that I disliked something in the first place. it's quite a special one.
This track could be the soundtrack to a Movie about Rwanda 1994 ...devastating

We know we are living in end times when something as magnificent as this can only garner 24k views in six months, whilst no-talents like Bieber and Katy Perry dominate. It is a sad commentary.
Justin Bieber MAY not be talented (that wouldn’t mean his music is bad, in general) but you can’t deny Katy Perry’s talent. Are you just insulting them because of their popularity or former popularity and the fact that they are pop singers?

You can hear a little early pink floyd influence on here very cool
O Namora, Goddess of Light and Fortune, twin of chaos, what a fool you are fighting with your sister for control. Ignoring the pleas of your people, and hurting your young sister all for power. When evil was born you blamed your twin but you gave evil life instead of destroying it. And you sliced the world in Twain in attempt to destroy evil but it was in vain. Now you no longer rule, but serve the hero maiden of loss as her tool, her sword of justice. Your young sister weeps at your loss and now she is sick with a disease brought by evil, and when the time comes you will heal her and be set free. What a fool you were.
Only results matter.
