This helped out a ton. I’ve been building headlights for my Tacoma and I’m using switchback with the DRLs. And I’m not mistaking this works around from disabling them.
Cory McDonald bro I’m dying with them right now. It’s all for a specific purpose, but I’m bored out of my mind editing these past few lol. They’re actually the consolidated version of the full install videos.
FlyRyde lolllll. Don't stress yourself over putting out content you don't enjoy creating and editing! A large majority of us will watch whatever you post. So have fun with it. Even if you have to put goofy filters on your face to entertain yourself
Is it also possible to use this module to have an amber drl switchback? So instead of the white use the same amber as the turnsignal. Or fo you still need an separate amber led strip for the drl?
8:54 I tapped into my 2016 F150 running light/ turn signal/ and ground using Profile Pivot switchback, but I get hyper flash. I installed a resistor on the running light and now as long as I am running my running lights on I have zero issues. But if I keep my park lights or running lights off, I still get hyper flashing then the PCM turns off all signals. Very frustrating! Before I pull the headlights back out to take a look. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!!
Hey dude! I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, but why would you add a resistor to the parking/running light? That little bastard is probably hot as hell!!! The resistor goes on the turn signal+ wire, and ground. typically people just tap the two wires going to the turn signal bulb. Your car thinks the turn signal bulb is out, so it hyperflashes to tell you. It doesn't / shouldn't care about the running lights at all.
Thanks for the reply! 👍I will better explain! Truck off, everything works perfect. Start the engine drl/ running lights were on. As soon as I signal the dash shows hyper flash but the exterior lights do nothing. Then when the signal is turned off the drl /running light will not come back on until you turn off ignition. Truck throughs a code. And it will do it on either side same sequence. That's why I added resistor in series.
You make great videos and this was very informative. I understood how to wire them but I have a question regarding my car. It's a Yaris that has a small 168 bulb that acts as parking light inside the housing, it illuminates the reflector when the parking lights are turned on. I would like to convert that bulb to switchback so it works as signal too. What bulb should I use and will I need a separate controller like the one on this video or those bulbs include it? Thanks a bunch for all the info.
master fabricator for a short length like the wires coming out the back of the light, that’s a great idea. I’m not a fan of super long harnesses all taped up, so I always have tools of braided loom, but you are right about that stuff for some of the parts in this video. Would have been a bit quicker and easier than loom and heat shrink 👌
can I use these to only shut off my halos/drls? I only want my DRL LEDs to shut off when I use my stock turn signals. I don't have amber halos to switch to.
DiscardedZombie yup, that’s what I do all the time. You just make sure to leave the output that powers amber, or anything else, disconnected. It’ll shut off the white LEDs for as long as a turn signal pulse is coming into the module, then give power back a second offer the signal stops.
@@flyryde do you have any suggestions to dim my LEDs at night? something that will work with these modules? they look great in the daytime but at night they are blinding. I ask to work with these modules because I ordered a set yesterday.
Please don't let this come off as being aggressive at all, how come you only do most of your videos on high end cars. Most of us do ALOT on a budget and drive civics, accords focus blah blah blah. I personally drive a Suzuki samurai, and 98 Accord. It would be great if you could do some budget diy on the lower end of the spectrum. Now all of your videos are great!! Great content!!! Awesome products and sweet builds. Just throwing that idea out there. Thanks for all the great videos man!!!!!
I appreciate that Rob. All of that will actually be explained on an upcoming video I just shot. It’s not on accident, and it’s not because I think that’s it’s best way to grow my channel. It is, however, the best way to grow my business and the best way I can show YOU guys how to do the same thing for yourselves to generate a nice healthy side hustle. It’ll hopefully make sense after watching the video I mentioned. It’ll be ready soon... but not before more GTR content 😉
@@flyryde I completely agree the money is in the high end cars and such!!! Don't get me wrong. I do stuff along the same lines for show cars using an Arduino. Little more time consuming but you get a pixelated screen displayed. Like I said channel is absolutely awesome, and content is great. Hopefully later on you can do more budget stuff.
Was watching this video and wondering if I could use a switch back I have a 2021 F250 and the side mirror lights are amber and I want to turn them white and have a switchback feature can you help me with this if you can please let me know I really would appreciate it thanks
That exchanger isn't needed when you have the ghozt led module correct? And what wire on the car harness would you tap into when utilizing the ghozt module?
magyar77 aaayyyeee that’s awesome 👍 What do you think now that you’ve seen the install? It’s a lot less involved than I feel it looks like in this video.
@@flyryde yeah looks easy enough. Your video is great, straight to the point and informative 😉 Which switch back led bulbs would you recommend for the Front Indicators: WY21W (T20, 7440)?
Is there anyway i can know what's the size of the projector housing for a 2007 legacy 2.0gt wagon? I want to buy switchback angel lights but not sure what diameter
Can you make a video on how to add side markers to a car that doesnt already have side markers? IE my 09 civic. I'm installing jdm fenders that have sidemarker holes and instead of patching the holese I'm tryrin gto install side marker lights like the oem jdm civic had. Any help would be cool.
I got a set on single RGB light (red) and found out that they won’t shut off when I turn on my headlight at night.. so they might over heat... if I get this would it do the same concept turn off the RGB demon eyes so my regular low beam headlights turn on at night ??
You can super easily do that just by using a 5 pin relay. You’d hook up power and ground, and set the Demon Eyes to get their power through the normally open pin. Then tap a wire from your low beams 12v and run it to the trigger pin on the relay, leaving the 5th pin (normally closed) unused. What’ll happen, is the low beam coming on will make the relay shut off the Demon Eyes 👌
Unfortunately I dont make these videos just for fun, but at some point I'll be able to create content full time, and take on projects solely for the sake of teaching about them. Till then, you get to see the jobs that pay my bills, and as much else as I can squeeze in there.

Dude I started paying attention to that... I say "Super Dope" all the damn time, lol? I gotta make some FlyRyde shirts that say that!

If I want amber DRLs do I just tap the amber wire from the replacement LED board to the cars DRL wire?
Why don't you use exterior tesa tape?

Nice video, question for universal fitment do I need to driver? L and R? Please let me know.
Anything involving turn signals will always need an independent left and right side. So the short answer is yes, you'll need a L and R.

But no-one seems to send them to Australia.

Not many have a gtr, how about some realistic cars. Very nice work though

The second I can feed my kids without working on GTRs I will.
