I will see how it works in real world conditions Marc but ultimately I think that aluminum top will be much better conducting heat transfer for cooking. Appreciate you watching Brother! 👍🏻👊🏻
Looks like a good little stove .I have a collapsible stove and a fixed one when going out in winter I prefer my fixed stove .you made a good choice the fixed stove is a good choice for winter camping .
Thanks Lorenzo! I think a fixed stove is better for Winter too although I’ve never had collapsible the thought of fiddling around with that chimney especially doesn’t sit well with me. Appreciate you watching Brother! 👍🏻👊🏻
Interesting looking stove for sure. The aluminum top is a bit of a concern in a very hot burn. The bottom plate is nice and prevents the bottom being warped. Always use caution with any spark arrestors, they have caused more trouble than good. Stay safe and stay warm. Fred
Look forward to you giving a proper work out Doug in a hot tent or some other. Looks a handy bit of kit. Minus 17? Yeah nippy. Have a great week ahead. Mark
Hi Doug That alluminum plate idea seems to work great and used to transfer heat better than a ss top . Ontario -17 sure beats being stuck in the Caribbean on a resort eh 😂
I’m with you on that Steve, I think the aluminum is there for the cooking aspect of the stove. Thanks for suffering in the cold with me unlike some other people 🤣
Very cool Doug. I hope you and yours are well. You sent some of your weather, down here to Ky. Please, take it back? LOL. The pup is growing!! Cool stove friend. It should work awesome. Keep warm. Peace, John. Stay safe.
Great little stove Doug ! Agree whole heartedly about the "roll up" titanium chimneys....not my cup of tea for sure ! Interested to see what that aluminum plate does after a few good burns. Sure hope it stays reasonably flat !! My brain keeps reverting to the old T-fal frying pans haha ! Can't wait to see the new tent as well ! Cheers Brother 👍👍🌲🌲🌲🇨🇦🍻
Thanks Tim! Ya those roll up chimneys would definitely get the best of me and end up destroyed 😂. I’m with you, anxious to see how the aluminum plate holds up. If it holds up and stays flat I think it will work good for cooking. T-fal 😂 Appreciate you watching Brother!! 👍🏻👊🏻
Nice wood stove Doug, apart from a few glitches putting it together it seems to work perfectly. But as you said at the beginning It never works putting it back together once you’re finished, like putting a sleeping bag back into the sack 😂
Cool little stove. Vevor is very popular with the diesel heater community too. I have been playing with those heaters,, but I don't think I have a Vevor. I love your buddies cook stove. I want to get one like that if I ever get my cabin built.
I had never heard of Vevor before but yes their heaters do seem quite popular. That cook stove that Craig has is just like the one my grandparents had at the family camp, it did all the heating and cooking. Thanks for watching Brother! 👍🏻👊🏻
That cook stove is about 100 years old and is in an old family cabin in Quebec . When the cabin was built in 1956, my grandmother gave the stove to her two sons who, along with another friend, had built the cabin. A few months later, the stove was stolen .But they had a hunch who did it. The cabin builders and some buddies, drove out to another remote cabin and found their stolen stove, loaded it into a truck and brought it back. Not a word was said, and no punches thrown. They just took their stove back.
How's she goin'? Not a bad looking little stove there Doug. Too bad it changes color with the heat as the stainless looked nice when shiny!! But being warm is more important than looking nice eh!! The wings on the cook surface, plus the cooking surface being flat to start with, I think would be pretty nice. Especially in a tent you don't want to have your pot or pan balancing on the stove when cooking your dinner. I hope the aluminum top holds up too. Looking forward to seeing you do a cook up on it brother!! Take 'er easy!!
Thanks Mike! The wings are going to be great for cooking. I’m hoping the aluminum top holds up cause I believe it will be an advantage for cooking. Appreciate you watching Brother! 👍🏻👊🏻
Not that I’m aware Chris but as someone has suggested, I think the aluminum conducts heat transfer better for cooking so I believe that’s why. I will find out soon enough. Appreciate you watching Brother! 👍🏻👊🏻
There are so many options right now. For me it came down to cost and needs. I’m thinking this one will be fine for my needs. Appreciate you Brother!! 👍🏻👊🏻
Hey Doug. Looks like a great stove for your tent. I've seen where guys took out the tray inside and they say it burns better and they can put more wood inside. What's your thoughts on that? Kenny
Thanks Kenny! It may burn better but it ultimately weakens the bottom of your stove so I will definitely keep the bottom in there. Appreciate you watching Brother! 👍🏻👊🏻
Hi Doug. Did I miss something with your other stove? Or did it finally burn through the metal? Looks like this one should last a while. Take care, brother.
Hey Tracy! I sold my other stove and hot tent to Marc. He did all the work modifying it anyway. So no issues with the other stove just wanted a lighter one. Thanks for watching Brother!! 👍🏻👊🏻
At -17 you go above an beyond what is required of a 'tuber to bring us a preview. It's a nice sized stove that, though the aluminium top is odd. I'm not entirely sure why you'd need a detachable top. One thing I remember as a firefighter, aluminium has a comparatively low melting point, and whilst I doubt your stove will reach 660C it's still a weird metal to choose for a stove.
I’m thinking the aluminum top is a better metal to cook on Si. Great to hear it has a low melting point though. Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge Brother! 👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks for the shoutout, Doug. Looks like a fantastic little stove! The aluminum top should transfer heat evenly. Take Care
Thanks Craig! I think it will be perfect for what I need moving forward. Appreciate you suggesting it to me Brother!! 👊🏻👍🏻
Nice demo Doug! I bet you were happy to light it up at minus 17! Good bit of kit brother 🔥😃👊👊
Thanks so much Leon!! I do like to stay warm 😂. Appreciate you watching my Brother!! 👍🏻👊🏻
Great test and burn off on a pretty cool stove! Looks like it will serve you well! #keepitburning 🔥
I’m hoping it will serve me well Brandon! Can’t wait to get out and check it out in real world conditions. Appreciate you my Brother!! 👍🏻👊🏻
Nice little stove Doug. Can't wait to see how it works in your tent on a frigid outing.
Thanks John! I’m looking forward to a real world test too! Appreciate you watching Brother! 👍🏻👊🏻
Lots of cool stuff, Enjoy the Holidays 🎉🎉🎉
Thank so much Friend!! 👍🏻😊
Seems like a good little stove! It’s good looking and functions properly. Looking forward to watching you use it in future episodes. Take care brother

That's a great price I'll be following to see how it works for you! Nice winter weather we're hurting for snow in Cumberland county NS! Send us some!
Thanks so much! We just got snow in the last couple of weeks…careful what you wish for 😉. Appreciate you watching brother! 👍🏻👊🏻
