It's such a cool idea. I recently watched a video about a magician who "played russian roulet" on TV in 2003 (and I think the algorithm knows it).
It is basically a very similar concept. You don't know if it's real, you don't want to see someone get shot in the face but it's exiting.
They did a casting for the assistant of the performance and 12000 people applied.
I think peep the horror would 100% work even if it's not really funny. It would go viral. Kids would dare each other to peep the horror. The controversy would hype it up even more. It would be on TV and leave the internet bubble. Parents would tell their children not to peep the horror. Eventually a kid somewhere would die leading to a huge nation wide outcry. Schools would do everything to fight it, parents would take away their childrens devices. Some of them would peep the horro themselves in secret. At this point Jerma is world famous and there are so many viewers on stream that the odds of being struck are so low. Jerma starts showing it more often. In a world where Jerma himself doesn't get struck it would at some point become an issue so big that politicians would have to engage in the debate and it would be a goverment responsability to stop the horror.

Jerma fans will write the most captivating, interesting and unique stories and then say “this happened to me in a dream”
What’s better is that Jerma will almost fully believe it even and then gets scared at the possibility of him “peeping the horror” like somehow that person willed it into existence.
You could have a dream about you meeting Jerma behind a subway leading to goat sacrifices and he’d genuinely would take a moment to consider if it happened or will happen
The funny thing is that the person who wrote this is not a jerma fan and had only heard of him through pop culture osmosis. The original is a tumblr post by the artist wizard0rb.

My favorite part is how the stream of his corpse being left on was intentionally done as a sign of respect. Like the streamer equivalent of a Viking funeral.
Especially because after 3 straight days of sitting there the body would probably start rotting and being grody.

I love how "peep the horror" was like the one thing to ever make Jerma genuinely confused. That "WHAT?" at the end was so real

It's because he wanted to do the same, but someone had exposed his plans
I had left her body to rot in the attic, and buried the witnesses. The police came into my house for questioning a week later. I denied everything and shot them when they pressed farther. I ate their organs and burnt my house down. I ran away and hid out in the forest. Before long I got very hungry. I was found by none other than Jerma985. He howled and gnawed my leg off. The noise caught the attention of nearby campers who reported the incident to the police. I was hospitalized and had barely survived. I was found guilty of my many crimes and was going to spend life in prison. I was not happy with that. I torched that prison up. I watched my cell mates beg for me to free them as the roaring flames entrapped them. It was a joyous sense of accomplishment. I was free once again, and now am seeking Jerma985. I want to sacrifice myself to him in a fittingly ritualistic way.

The fact that the mass is still on screen when Jerma dies implies that everyone watching the 72 hour memorial stream thinks it’s the funniest thing they’ve ever seen
This actually poses an interesting dilemma: when you give people a warning that when they watch a stream they have a slim chance to just drop dead a lot of people probably wouldn't watch it, but because of that there are now less people on stream, increasing the odds for everyone else.
But would you not want to see such an image? An image that kills one out of thousands at a time, the odds are so low how could you resist. I myself would certainly like to get a peep at the horror.

I always loved how the name "Peep the horror" sounds exactly like a real bit that Jerma would do. The family guy pose pushes this bit from 10/10 to 20/10.

Quick math- if one viewer dies every time he shows the horror, and he shows it once per stream, and gets an average of 10,000 viewers, he'd have a 1/10000 chance of dying to the horror every time he shows it- in other words, a 1/10000 chance every time he streams. To get to a 50% chance of having died from the horror in his entire time streaming, he'd have to stream 5,000 times. If he streamed every day, this is nearly 15 years. However, he streams less often than that, so it's probably over 30 years. And then there's still a 50% chance that he hasn't died from the horror yet. It would take over 60 years of streaming a few times a week to be nearly 100% certain that he will have died of the horror by random chance at some point.
However, if he showed it multiple times per stream, which he would, these odds go up. If he showed it about 4 times per stream, then it would only take 1,250 streams for him to have had a 50% chance of dying to the horror at some point. That is under three and a half years if he streamed every day, 7 years if he streamed every other day, and 15 years if he streamed once in every four days. Hold on, though. In this scenario he is described as a mainstream celebrity, which means his viewer count has probably gone up. If he shows the horror four times a stream on average and has an average of 100,000 viewers, streaming once every other day, it would take over 270 years for him to have had a 50% chance of dying to the horror at some point. This is, of course, the same odds of any regular viewer dying from watching the stream if they watch every single Jerma stream beginning to end. If he has 1,000,000 viewers, it would take nearly 700 years. Point is, as a regular viewer, you wouldn't really have to worry about the chance of dying to the horror. For comparison, you have a 1 in 74,626,866 chance of dying in a crash every time you drive a mile. Say the average Jerma stream is two hours long, during which time you could probably drive 120 miles on average roads. You have a 1 in 621,891 chance of dying on that entire road trip, and a 1 in 250,000 chance of dying watching an entire Jerma stream with 1,000,000 viewers where he shows the horror four times. 1 in 25,000 for a stream with 100,000 viewers. It's more dangerous than a long road trip, but would having the best laugh of your life four times be worth it? To have even a 1% chance of dying to the horror during your entire time watching Jerma, if he averages 100,000 viewers and 4 horror peeps, you'd have to watch 1,000 whole Jerma streams. That is about 10 years of watching every single one of his streams if he streams on 1/4th of the days of the year. Only for 1%. So is peeping the horror really that scary?
Almost no one would watch every one of those streams, though. The only person to be present for every single second of every single stream would be Jerma himself. So, he would have the highest odds of anybody to die from the horror. As you can see from my statistics, however, it'd still be incredibly unlikely to ever happen to him if there was only random chance at play. Even if he streamed 50 years, with 100,000 viewers a stream, showing the horror 4 times a stream, streaming on 1/4 of the days in a year, he'd still only have had a 18.25% chance to have died to the horror at any point during all his streams combined. Is it possible? It's always possible. Is it likely? Not at all. Even less likely if he gets over 100,000 viewers a stream, which may be likely as a mainstream celebrity streamer. However, I've left out one crucial point. The fact that Jerma is Jerma. This one additional factor increases Jerma's odds of dying to the horror to far more than any regular person, because that's just the kind of thing that would happen to Jerma.

it does make sense that he'd have somewhat increased odds of dying, since very few viewers would catch _every_ peep, but given that he's the streamer, he'd be there for all of them
Just the thought of Jerma's lifeless body laying there not being claimed or buried and Twitch allowing the stream to go for all to see is the funniest part imo
Edit: My theory for why this happened is because Jerma made a deal with the devil to gather souls for him in exchange he becomes the most successful streamer ever however it back fired on Jerma and the Devil collected his pay. Of course thats just a theory A GERM THEORY

The quality of the animation is amazing like the transition at 0:10 is something you would see in high budget animated movie. It just can't get any better than this
In all reality, that is a really REALLY good concept for like a Creepypasta
Just a regular streamer but you have to come to terms with the fact that you risk dying every stream when he puts the picture up. And just imagining the funniest thing you could see popping up just completely being cut short by the streamer falling limp infront of millions. It's honestly REALLY unnerving and this animation brought that uncanniness to life perfectly.
This is honestly exactly how this bit appeared in my head. Everyone always seems to skip over the fact that the audience finds peeping the horror to be hilarious. You really made it out to be this dystopian-esque future of streaming, and I love it so much.

That final "what?" is like... Jerma's most tonally appropriate response ever. I know, it seems like a simple "wtf moment", but his TONE, my lads. That half-laugh, half-fearful-crow-call. The knowledge that this isn't real, but it's such a strange idea that it draws fear anyway.
