I never knew I had all of these comments on this till today. This all happened during the height of Covid. I could not get her vet to see here and ended up at an emergency clinic. We ended up finding out this was due to kidney failure and her organs were shutting down and I had he put to sleep that night.
That was so awful. And during Covid made it even worse. We had several emergencies with our pets during the Covid lockdowns too and it did make it a lot more stressful because we weren't allowed in the building to be with our pet. It was a horrible time.
Fck :( I have a vet appointment with my cat today due to her having seizures that look exactly like this one and she also has kidney disease. :( she's 17, I can't handle losing another pet :(
My kitty has gran Mal seizures. You never get used to it. It's so frightening. She usually only has them during her heat cycles. She's so confused afterward and just wants her Momma,so I talk softly so she knows I'm there.
Yupp... Thats Epilepsy... I know the grand mal variant myself sadly... The way you handle it is the right way i can say... She needs Someone to know and is happy to be with for calming down because after a seizure... Atleast as far i know... She would have desorientation, maybe headache and confusion overall with bit of anxiety which goes away as she rests. As i said *Epilepsy*... I said cuz you mentioned grand mal... And thats one kind of a variant how it affects... Did the Vet already get a look into that, because there could be some sort of medicamentation. Edit: if i use bad grammar or spell something wrong... The vet didn't do much testing because it's insanely expensive,and because she only has them during her heat cycles, he said he wasn't extremely concerned about them,but that if they started happening more often,he would need to see her and and perform some more tests and put her on daily meds. She's really healthy otherwise.

My cat is almost 19 and since a few months , aside from suffering from dehydration due to weaker kidney function, he occasionally has a seizure for about one mn. The first one was tough on him and he needed a full day to recover but the others looked the same but he recovered within mn and wanted to eat and looked just fine … 🙏🏻BTW, I give him subcutaneous ringer lactate fluids when I see him getting over thirsty and I also give him an occasional subcute shot of a product designed for weakened animals called SUPERAMINO. It contains glucose, vit B complex, amino acid and electrolyte for metabolizing . Since then, he has regained weight and feels comfortable so he can sleep well. I also feed him boiled chicken breast and chicken liver in plenty of broth, flavored with occasional wet cat food when he gets bored . This has improved him more than I could ever hope. I thought I was loosing him there…😢
You mean you started an obligate carnivore back on a carnivore diet with occasional processed food? I like the idea of superamino, might have to see if that is available in the UK. Hope the kitty is still happy and improving.
It is never easy to see your fur baby in distress or a stressful event like a seizure. I had two fur baby cats that had seizures and always broke my heart when they went into one. Good thing this, fur baby has a good home, cos not many cat owners are able to handle cats or even dogs with disabilities. ❤
For anyone watching this today, please do not thikk your cat is going to die. My cat had similar behavior 1 week ago and this is the first video I have found that is similar to his walking. We got him into emergency vet and the next day they ran tests but did not find anything. They believe it is something neurological, possibly a minor stroke. We decided to go with antobiotics for 2 weeks and steroid treatments for 3 weeks. Out normal vet is also doing accupuncture. His walk is still funny, but he eats, drinks water, and uses the litter box. This morning he jumped up on the bed for the first time since it happened. He is still learning, but we don't believe he is going to die from this. ❤
My cat had something that looked just like this about a month and a half ago and I couldn't get her to the vet but she returned to normal. Then this morning it happened again I petted her and talked to her and she seems fine now. As soon as I get paid I am going to find a Vet .We live in BFE.Does anyone here know what causes this type of seizure?
She seems to have a nerve problem and hip dysplasia it doesn't cause her pain but she can't get up right away. Massage seems to help her recover sooner. She is sitting here helping me with the computer right now😺 She will be 14 on Halloween.@@teabobaggins2909
Hi I found a kitten and he looks like he needed food and water I took him home clean him up gave him some food and I did take it to the vet to be checked out because he look sick in his eyes and about 2 days later he starts doing the same thing I took hi. Back and a vet doctor seen him doing that and she told me that she had no idea what's going on with him the bill was to high I got vet appointment coming up I just pray that he be OK because we done fell in love with each other
I remember when my forst puppy went through his first seizure, i was 8 and i heard my mom yelling from the living room, i was sleeping, "No No No! You can't do this to me!!!" I run out as fast as i could and theres my fluffy boy, shaking endlessly on the ground not making a sound but a lot of foam. I started crying, all i knew was that i might lose my puppy, my moms bf happened to walk in the door at that point and started yelling at us to get in his car and take him to the vet, he seriously must've drove over 80 that night. It can be horrifying and scary. Im so sorry he has to go through it. 😢 May he heal quickly and live long and full.
@@Infiniti25 he survived lived for another 12 yrs, it was apparently brain inflammation from an infection he gained from rats. Our landlord at the time did absolutely nothing to stop the rats and it almost cost us. I remember my mom calling him and tearing him a new hole.
Take the very best care of your animals while you have them.Regular vet visits are so important.Don"t take your pets for granted.They"re more important to you than you realize.
Same exact thing with my cat.. Just started a few days ago. Went to vet the next day, blood work, everything came back perfect. She did it again yesterday and it was exactly like this video. Vet doesnt seem to know what it is. She has a limp afterwards for like 30min. Vet wants to do MRIs, XRAYS, everything under the sun of course.

Right now my cat is on anti seizure medicine and she has been good. Haven't seen her do this since I wrote this comment. The medicine is called phenobarbital. She gets 1/4 of the pill, very tiny piece every day. Hopefully this will help, it seems to be helping my little girl.
My older cat did that a year ago but has never done it since. We suspect he nibbled on a plant that was given to our daughter as a gift. We got rid of the plant and the cat has been healthy and active ever since.

They are looking for a boyfriend so they can have kittens they will walk around your house or your backyard, walking to the ground like a wiener dog and miaowing like that or sometimes they are not feeling good. They do that my cat is currently in heat and she does it a lot.
Consider their micrchip folks....it operates from wifi right? What is in your house that is operating on wifi? Even if their not chipped! Then shut it off.
Absolutely not true, the chip inside responds to a very different frequency from WiFi. Chip readers work at 134.2kHz, WiFi is at 2.4GHz or 5GHz, which is over a million times higher in frequency. Antennas are designed to be selective and only work at the frequencies they’re meant for. Sometimes they do pick up stuff that wasn’t what they were optimized for, and in those situations the picked up signal is very weak. There is a very tiny chance that maybe the chip could pick up some WiFi energy, but where would it go? Most of the time the chip, if placed correctly, is just under the skin, not near the nervous system. Misplaced chips can cause issues (Vet on the Hill had an episode about this), but that cat had problems all the time, not just some of the time.

You should record seizures, human or animal. It can help the doctor/vet know what kind of seizure it was & the duration. You cannot intervene with the episode, it typically causes more physical harm.

Never pick up or hold an animal who is having a seizure. Sit next to them while talking softly to reassure them you are there. You can gently pet them if it's possible.
it's important so the vet can identify the type of seizure - cats naturally behave this way, it wasn't the person stressing it. They hide when they are ill.

Mine has seizures during her heat cycle. Sometimes two or three a day. Rarely she'll have one when she's not in heat. Vets have no idea why,and I can't afford the the thousands of dollars I testing they want to do. He said as long as she's acting normal between seizures, and there's no other illnesses going on,he's not too concerned about it. If she ever gets sick or doesn't return to normal after a seizure, we'll explore medications.

I hope they are better but try to help them instead of filming? If that was a really bad seizure and you were just filming, your cats life could be on the line.
Other than closely monitoring the seizure there’s not really much you can do. Cats when seizing will most likely bite and scratch you if you try to touch them or hold them still. Unless you had another idea in mind for helping them?

Poor kitty! The way the kitty is moving, trying to walk. With my seizures my body always wants to go right for some reason.
Seizures can often be a sign of liver problems in cats, get Him to the vet asap if He is put on meds soon enough He can live a long healthy life.
Now, I finally know why our kitten walked like a drunk 😢 because of seizure.

Pur cat doesn't have these but pur bunny does and cbd hemp oil helped his. He has partial ones.
He is having a stroke, not a seizure.

Well... Im no vet... But fur safety... Check for epilepsy... They seizures may vary... But it can affect also Animals.

I hope they are better but try to help them instead of filming? If that was a really bad seizure and you were just filming, your cats life could be on the line.
Other than closely monitoring the seizure there’s not really much you can do. Cats when seizing will most likely bite and scratch you if you try to touch them or hold them still. Unless you had another idea in mind for helping them?
