- Hello everyone! Today's video will be about the Malaysian-spec 2018 Kia Picanto five door hatchback with the 1.2 litre Kappa II naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 83hp/84PS paired to a 4-speed automatic in the EX trim.
Below is the list of current Picanto five door hatchback variants available in Malaysia as of 20th March 2018. I arranged it from the cheapest to the most expensive.

Different category so it won't be a fair comparison. I'd get the Myvi (specifically in Advanced trim) if I want the space and the additional safety features.

I agree ths Kia Picanto trumps Myvi which is at best a recycled Corolla hatch(regardless what thye say that its a newly redesigned car). Kia Picanto is more refined and have new tech.
Different category but at a similar price range with the myvi 1.3 X premium.. These 2 car is on my list now which one I should go for it.. So I prefer picanto.. 🤔

82 degree celcius water tempetarature, rpm 5250 , 180km/h try it urself . there is one media review for picanto from Kl to melaka . One guy proved in photo picanto driving at 180km/h.

Between the two, definitely the Picanto. The Axia is a good car, let down only by the lack of safety features. Glad I could help you in making a decision!
One missing safety features for the Picanto...They had no front parking sensors...doesn it?
Parking sensors are not a safety feature, they're more for convenience. In a car this small, parking sensors are not really necessary, but it is a bonus if the feature is present.

The exhaust has some slight pop, not bad and please walkthrough the new GT-Line, there’s a lot of difference
malaysian media should stop using "city car" stereotyping this A segment car. Don't follow european way of talking. Malaysian use kancil from JB to alor setar . So for poor people this car will serve well. So picanto is not city car. picanto is top notch all rounder. i use picantofrom jb to ipoh.

alright i agree with you . thats what engineers design in materialand cost leveling for city car. well, picanto engineers made the car on par with honda city and bigger kia models on highway.
hahaha have to rename Land Rover evoque as city car since 90% stay in major city like KL, Penang, JB.
A very good alternative to the perodua and proton. Hyundai and Kia cars are now better than many European and Jepunis cars like Honda/Nissan,

after a month compare with Myvi Adv, I confirm to buy this, because price cheaper than Myvi Adv, and I'm not always bring passengers.
I also plan to buy this, i dont need a big car and the interior dash design blew me away. This feels so premium to drive and well equipped despite Kia having to price carefully in Malaysia silly car tax environmnet,
Just sold mine myvi ikon 2018 1.5 adv with full accessories. Only 11 mth in used. Swap with picanto GT and waiting for delivery soon. So frustrated with myvi ikon.

I like this yellow colour best but I can see this car will be high maintenance compared to other colours, as scratches is easily visible on yellow colour cars.

Yeay hahahaha. Picanto. How was the drive ?
Quite good actually. Fairly quiet, comfortable, and easy to steer. The engine is a tad underpowered for highway driving, but just nice for city driving.

Are you sure the top speed is 161? You base on brochure or due to test drive? The figures you give seems it's from the 1.0 model that is not sold in Malaysia.
From what I gathered, the 1.0 which only has a manual transmission, has a top speed of 161 km/h, which is identical to the 1.2 automatic. The 1.2 manual has a higher figure of 172 km/h.

Kia picanto in the philippines is stripped down.. head unit is not even android and it is not keyless. yours are full of feature. Malaysia Kia picanto is awesome. We need to report kia picanto philippines for stripping down some of the features
We don't have an Android head unit too... This is an original Kia head unit. Besides, different markets will have different specifications. That's the daftest reason I've heard to report a company for.

Madelyn Manalo malaysa car buyers are what you call more sophisticated. With imported cars expensive but with easy cheao car loans car makers compete for buyers by giving best package/equipment.
it demand , first the proton malaysia carmaker make the safety is the first priority n then all cars start to keeping the safety feature out

I guess they didn't see a need for it as this is already fairly highly specced at a good price. Bringing in the GT Line will push the price higher.

Thanks for watching. I live in Penang whereas most media review cars are dispatched from KL. As I don't go down to KL that often, I have to make do with what I can get in Penang. I have gotten cars from Naza Kia before a few years back.

I love Kias. I have a 2008 Rio5 and a 2015 Soul. Was looking to replace the Rio5 but the new Rio isn't nearly as comfortable and my local sales people are morons. I've decided to keep my old Rio instead

That colour, mustard, is horrible. For a Full Vehicle Tour it spent most of the time on the touch screen.
The Picanto only looks good in black or white. I have one of each! A 2 in black and a 3 in white. Both 1.25L with auto box. Its not a 'City Car'. That would be a Fiat 500, a Toyota IQ or a Smart. And even those are ok on the motorway at 70mph. Its a general purpose small car.
Black and white paint is pretty messy to take care of in our climate, you'll get waterspots all over or dust or polen.
Its a city car because that's the definition of "A segment" cars.
