    I’ll say this. I’m currently in Monaco for a couple of weeks and I’ve seen countless Rolex Submariners. I saw a guy at a coffee shop wearing a super ocean today and I couldn’t take my eyes off it. Looked amazing in person.

    • @WrongTimeWatch
      @WrongTimeWatch  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is a very nice looking watch, just a bit thick for my preference. The submariner is perhaps a tad bit too big for my wrist as well, but I really enjoy wearing it.

    • @Nick-r9z
      @Nick-r9z 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Exactly this. The SO just has the cool factor over the Submariner. Too many people follow a cliche and buy a Sub making their watch selection no different to anyone else. It also says, ‘I don’t really know anything about watches so I went safe’.

    • @steelsteez6118
      @steelsteez6118 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Nick-r9z It can be as cool as ever (and as gorgeous as ever) but if the dimensions are off (which they are on the SO) it renders everything else futile. 14.35 mm thick and almost a 52mm lug to lug? Really?? That's a massive watch on most wrists. There's a reason why you see countless submariners on peoples wrist; because it wears like a glove. There's a reason it's popular and worn by so many. The SO is also a whopping 173grams.The submariner while plain and boring, has the perfect goldilock dimensions. That can't be argued. On top of the virtually perfect dimensions, the glidelock clasp is incredible. It makes it so that you can get the tiniest of adjustments for the best comfort on your wrist. I personally love the look of the Breitling SuperOcean heritage over the submariner, but unfortunately, the dimensions don't make it nearly as comfortable as the submariner. Especially for 12-14 hours of all day every day wear. If Breitling ever refines this model to 40-41mm, 12 to 12.5 mm thick, 46-47mm lug to lug, and add an on-the-fly quick adjust on the clasp to get the perfect fit depending on temperature, they will win.

    If I get the Rolex for 8900 and the Breitling for 5500 MSRP, then, of course I would go for the Rolex. But since I could get the Breitling for 3000 plus and the Rolex, not below 13000, I went for Breitling.

    I own both 41 126613LN and b20 42. The Breitling is an amazing watch, love it on rubber, love that it’s not a Rolex Homage. The lume they need to fix asap, and clasp you have is nice minus micro adjust. For the price especially discounted Breitling is hard to beat by other brands. The Sub on the other hand is the most perfect iconic watch ever, the king of divers. Great review! I prefer the Breitling over any Seamaster or Tudor doing Homages.

    I am so glad I don't like Rolex watches, I cannot understand their appeal and why they are so desired. I like the Breitling way more, I also think Zenith is way nicer than Rolex in another comparison (Daytona). Why do people really crave for a Rolex is inexplicable for me.

    I own the SOHII for a year and for the money (3600€ with rubberstrap, factory new) it is really amazing. I use the glide lock of the clasp that comes with the rubberstrap often. I think prices on the grey market went up a bit since. Mine is very accurate and looks great, daily worn. The lume is sufficent for me to tell the time at night. I also find the 72h power reserve very useful. A sub is a dream for the future for me.

    • @WrongTimeWatch
      @WrongTimeWatch  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, I think it is a good watch for the money. My preference is for slightly thinner watches, and maybe a little less flashy, but the sub is kind of flashy. 2 different watches, can't compare them. If someone is buying and in mind is the watch to keep a steady value, for now anyway, it's the sub. You may buy the Breitling with a certain discount while the chances of a discount on a sub are very slim. Provided that you have an AD that got a lot of money off you over the years and the sub will be accessible. I wouldn't put my self choosing between the two, they can't be compared as they are very different. Comparison - similar items. Congrats on the sub Kevin, date or no date is an all rounder and will never bore you.

    So I'm actually looking to get the Tudor BB58 and the Breitling SOH2 (obviously not at the same time :-D ). HOWEVER, I'm actually thinking whether or not it would make more sense in just getting a secondhand Rolex sub instead. Both the Tudor and the Breitling will cost about as much as a secondhand Sub. And the resale value in the future will be better with the Rolex off course. Such a luxury problem haha!
