Master Blaster!
If you want your audio excited, enhanced and beautified into something Way more special than the original - this would be the little box of analog tricks for that very thing!
All the Master Blasters have the same transformer set (new old stock) used in quality Hifi sets of the 70’s and 80’s. They tighten the lows, stabilise the mids and soften the highs beautifuly.
MB 1 has a set of the amazing STC diodes!
MB 2 has a set of the amazing Schottky diodes! - brighter than the STC’s in MB 1.
In the video, processing begins by just running the audio through the transformers - you can immediately hear the low end tightening and the high end sheen - everything seems to sit better in the mix. Next the audio is just run through the diodes - listen to the high end both being enhanced and softened with added low end punch.
Next - split eq mastering.
You can do this by either copying the audio to another track or sending via busses.
Track 1 is sent through an eq with a low pass filter set to 777 hz (this frequency can be changed to suit the source audio). This is then routed through the transformer set.
Track 2 is sent through an eq with a high pass filter set to 777 hz - this is then routed through the diodes.
You set your amount of saturation using your daws’ i/o utility.
Then you adjust the volume of both tracks til you’re happy. Listen to the results in the video. Amazing right. More space, bigger sounding audio - richer sweeter highs!
Next up - mid side mastering.
You set up the audio by either copying the track to another channel or sending through busses.
We use Voxengo MSED for mid side processing (free and amazing).
You put MSED on channel 1 and set it to mids only (mute the sides). Then route the audio through the transformers.
You put MSED on channel 2 and set it to sides only (mute the mids). Then route it through the diodes.
Set your saturation levels using your daws’ i/o utility - set your levels - and listen to the wondrous beauty. Next level amazing right. Just listen on the video and compare to the dry track at the beginning of the video. This analog wonder will take your brain to heaven!
