Thanks! Here's a cool fact i learned just today; groves of aspen or spruce (and other trees im sure) can be interconnected by a vast network of root systems. When one tree is damaged, the whole of them help to heal that tree. If a large bunch are cut down at once, it puts tremendous strain on the remaining trees connected to that root system as they will try and heal the cut down trees or at least keep the roots alive. Hello 👋Thank You for your video of 3 ways of tapping birch trees and how to healthy way for each tapped sap and using beeswax 🐝 to each tree 🌳!!! 🇵🇱 🇺🇸 👩🍳
Nice, thanks, and would get another Like if spoken in Received Pronunciation, clearer articulated and /or better sound quality on the speaker, so that other nationalities and burnt-out people can understand it too.
I had a go at method # 2 today, as it's a good time at the moment, I am reluctant to use the drilling method, the third method doesn't seem to feasible for me either as the ones right near me seem to mostly lack low-lying branches. I tried the second, it is indeed very fiddly, I got it to come out but both times I tried it I don't think I jabbed the knife in at a steep enough angle, I guess the idea is to pry it open between the bark and the wood and just wedge the shaved twig inbetween, I was more focused on just getting it to sit in the slot I had created and both times seemed to only succeed in plugging up the hole. I'll hopefully have another go soon before I miss out again like last year.
hi great vid . i noticed you drilled upwards into the tree , is this significant ? i tried it for the first time yesterday and obtained a cup full but it was slightly discoloured any idea why ? i did plug the tree but will be heading back to seal it with bees wax . all the best .
Hi @philipcraig thanks😊. I drilled at an angle so gravity helps with the flow of sap from the tree. The liquid will have a slight discoloration,it's due to the sugar in the sap itself.
i also heard move holes from one year to next different part tree. there urban legion that if go clear around tree could make weak blow over any truth this anybody tape same trees every year for 20 years? out there u tub land?

Nice one! And thanks for also showing how to plug the tree to protect it. Good man :)
This is a good channel, what he says and does makes a lot of sense .
isn't that tree too small to tap?
I realy like the way how you seal the tree after harvesting. probably natural tree tar would do also.
Hi Colin it tastes like a sweet water, nice and refreshing.
