And Hwasa is tan and curvy and the exact opposite of typical Korean beauty standards (e.g. Blackpink Jisoo for reference), and had petitions written against her demanding her expulsion from the group. Queen as she is, she decided if she didn’t fit the beauty standard, she’ll just have to make a new one. tl;dr: partly true, partly overblown due to unreal expectations in the idol world.
