  • Vang Vieng Laos is famous for tubing, it is a great place to go and lay back and do activities in the raw nature of central Northern Laos. It is located between Vientiane and Luang Prabang.
Vang Vieng has amazing nature and cool stuff to do. You can go kayaking, zip lining, tubing, Hot Air Baloon Ride, rent a buggy or just chill. Everything in Vang Vieng evolves around the Nam Song River.
I did not have time for tubing and asked @thirstee4adventure if I could use his footage. His name is Tee and he is traveling around South East Asia, please check out his channel.

I visited Vang Vieng in 1993. Almost no tourism there at all back then. It was a quiet, peaceful, slow-paced, beautifully exotic place. It breaks my heart to see what has happened to it since then. I don’t think I could return.

It looks like a completely different place compared to Vang Vien I visited in mid 2000s. There was a just a dusty road with lots of restaurants either side, all playing endless friends dvds. There was maybe 1 or 2 buildings that were over 2 floors and it had a quaint, rustic charm to it. Now, it looks like a generic south east Asian tourist town (which I suppose it is) but the breath-taking scenery will never change.

I will be traveling to Vang Vieng with my International School of Bangkok in Jan 2024. We will stay at the Amari. Thank you for this video! Looks like a wonder little place to hang out for a couple of days. We arrive on the speed train and then we head to Vietnam. Can't wait!

❤ how beautiful.. so lovely!! White clouds crashing into the mountains.. green rice fields, a tranquil river running through it, vast expanse of sky, away from all noise of big cities and then there is great silence. One of the most extraordinary sights any human would love to feel to be present there!! Thanks for sharing your experience with great care, unconditional love and affection. 😊 A man can live 100 years enjoying every moment here - it’s a heaven, truly.

I would like to suggest you shoot Drone shots of Bangkok's known neighborhoods. This would give a different and more detailed view. Better that just walking around Bangkok narrow streets. It would take more planning but really interesting.

Nature is good, otherwise it's the most depressing place ever. Vang Vieng used to be a good place back in pre-2013 before they stopped the tubing. Now it's just a place with super unfriendly local and greedy people (can't blame them, they witnessed so much crap done by tourists and so many idiots). I would never ever recommend anybody to go there. If you like nature there are better places in Laos with actually friendly people. The second time I stayed there it was 80% Chinese, and 20% western Tourists who smoked meth, and just overall drunk people harassing the local population by peeing on their storefront at sunrise. During my 3 days stay two people from my place got drugged by the local women in the night club and they woke up later the next day without wallets or phones. If you're not into cheap parties, drunk tourists, sketchy locals, smoking meth, heroin, or taking shrooms, don't go there. Seriously.

    This is heartbreaking to see.
What the Chinese investment (colonisation) has done to Vang Vieng (Laos, Cambodia and Thailand) is absolutely devastating.
I was here in 2012 and none of these roads and huge hotels were built, just pure uninterrupted and unspoilt nature. Now look at it 😢

It would be nice to see USA still an undeveloped Third World if it is still being colonised by England and France...If these under developed countries improve these countries are bad.....Why don't the West still live in stone age for the rest of the world to admire. You are just an racist whiteman ...PERIOD.
