I first heard. "Atlas" on the Little Big Planet 2 (possibly LBP 1), soundtrack. I loved it, but never looked into who made it. Then about 4 weeks ago while scoping out videos by Warp Records artists for music that doesn't sound like those turds the music industry pooper-scooped off the asphalt behind that shitty strip mall we all know, and avoid. Doesn't matter where you live. Something tells me you know the kind of place. Anyway, I came across BATTLES, and listened to "Mirrored". I was blown away. It's refreshing and quite relieving to find a band that has a style and sound that is theirs alone. In short: BATTLES are fucking amazing.
Getting serious Animal Collective and Dan Deacon vibes with this one, alongside that drum and bass part in the second half being very reminscent of Venetian Snares.

The battle goes on and on and on and on and on
This is how it shall be.
tbh the project would most likely end with stanier
@@azoth_junky I'd listen to an all-drums stanier album
I mean damn...are the other 2 members just super hard to work with or something?
well this sounds great with no headphones just your iphone speaker pressed against your ear on the street because you couldnt wait to get home, you guys know what im talking about...
Like, how many genres can be fused together??? 😩 this shhhhh is amazing
Always impressing with the drumming on Battles records. This is great.
He was Helmet’s first drummer
Unreal. Unreal for so many reasons. flipping love it.
...always one step ahead.
More 11 steps
I shall play it thrice!
lovin the new direction.
Yep, they put it to play twice in the album's playlist
These guys keep losing band members and yet this sound so great. Thank you battles, been waiting quite a long time for a new record!
Yeah, the LP works great, but them LIVE as duo doesn't really work.
too many sequencers etc.
Xenia Rubinos + Battles = OMG IT'S A DREAM!!!!

Battles + Xenia = 🔥🤤🔥
This is what I have been waiting for some great abstract music to jam out too
Hands down my favorite from the new album. Xenia killed it in the second part.
Always stoked to hear a new Battles track! Sounds great guys!
Gracias por tanto, se lucieron ayer en Lima
Proof that we need to fast forward time... a time where this album has been released...

YAAASSSSS
So glad you guys are back making bangers!
Everytime they lose members the sound gets bigger🤯
What a sick beat!

Interesting.
You guys should do something with Thom Yorke or Sufjan Stevens

i really love battles but this sounds annoying and goes nowhere
Okay
if that's a problem you never really loved the battles
@@summerteeth1985 its one of my fav Bands since 2004
I don't understand that. This song has the biggest payoff.
Arguably more stoked for this than I was when I first heard the Yabba.
