Korean culture that shocked me : 1. Eating live octopus. 2. Putting live eels on hot grills to eat them. 3. Eating fermented food(soy sauce marinated raw crabs and kimchi) stored in earthen pots buried in earth. 4. Eating farm animals' innards. 5. Homeless elderly Koreans dying alone 6. Kids in 7th and 8th grade getting plastic surgery. 8. Getting their outer face skin peeled at cosmetic surgeons to look white. 9. Your value is measured by how good you look, how much money you make, your position at job and university you studied. 10. Mothers and grandmothers dropping in absence to fill the refrigerator with side dishes 😄 Korea has many good qualities but these few things were a cultural shock for me.
