Same in german, but in school, englisch teacher teach us to speak clearly and not lazy...But the English lessons were very good - I left school in 1988 and still understand everything. Sometimes I notice, that I've forgotten a few words when I'm speaking, but I can still understand most of it well.👍
"With each of your videos, I see how different it is to learn like a child and their mentor. Both are a great example for me as an English language student. I’ve taken on the 4,3,2 challenge, and it’s been tough, especially when I do it with lots of questions. But it has helped me build my confidence, and even though I haven’t tried other challenges of yours yet, I’ve learned to increase my pace without pressuring myself."
Ótima aula!! Obrigada. Dar a correta entonação para as palavras em inglês é muito difícil para mim. Aprendendo sempre e tentando acertar. Obrigada ❤🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
hey, first I just want to say that I really enjoyed your video and I learned a lot from it. actually, I'm not a native speaker and English is not my mother tongue but I really felt that I'm American, and if I get the chance someday to visit the US and speak with a really nice native person like you I will be over the moon. thank you a lot for this awesome episode and excuse me if you find any mistakes in my comment, greetings to you from Egypt.☺😊

Oh yeah I want you to make more related videos because it's easy to understand and how native speaker speak like in daily conversation. I love it very much. Thanks a lot for making video like this.
Oh, it’s new to me that the triangle showing of stressed sounds 👍 These are very understandable one to me. Thank you very much. I really love your lesson 😄
Bonjour, merci pour cette vidéo si enrichissante et je dirais même essentielle pour comprendre l’anglais, merci pour le visuel qui nous aide vraiment à mieux comprendre. 🇨🇦Linda
Intonation and pronounciation,,for me its a one of my interesting lesson,, my comments sentences may be wrong in grammar,,,sorry for that,,,thank you Teacher
I love British accent. Please upload a video for soccer words. I am supper fan of manchester city but I didn't understand the commutator. I am from Ethiopia, Africa.
Bonjour, d’abord Merci pour cette vidéo très enrichissante. Je n’ai pas terminé de l’écouter, mais avant d’oublier ma question, je vous la pose maintenant. Je fais référence aux question WH. What time are you coming home? Vous montez le ton sur time qui est accentué, mais pourtant de ce que j’ai appris, l’accentuation est indiqué par un apostrophe (‘) et pour les mots de deux syllables et plus, et je crois que time n’a qu’une seule syllabe. Je ne mets pas du tout en doute ce que vous dites, mais j’aimerais comprendre. J’ai très hâte de vous lire. 🇨🇦Linda
@@lindafortin7999 Hi Linda, thank you for your kind words. I will try to clarify in this comment: You’re right - When we are trying to locate the stressed syllable within a word, that word must have at least two syllables. With a one-syllable word, there is no stress to locate. However, sentences (or more accurately, “thought groups” because in spoken English, we do not always speak in complete sentences) usually have a point of stress too. Every sentence/thought group has (usually) one point of stress (usually one syllable) that is stressed more than every other word. In the sentence “What time are you coming home?” the stressed syllable/word within the sentence is “time.” Intonation (which is the pitch pattern of English sentences) is not the same as stress; however, sentences that follow the rising-falling intonation that I discuss in the video often rise in pitch at the most stressed syllable of a sentence. I know this is A LOT. It can be confusing. It’s quite an advanced pronunciation lesson. I hope this makes sense!
When I learned German, I was able to communicate very well with others who were learning German. Now that I speak German very well, I find it difficult to understand people learning German 🤔🤔
@@EnglishwithBrittany I noticed that the children only understand something if you pronounce it correctly. Although I speak French reasonably well, my children have refused to speak French to me (French is their mother's language). As an adult, you may think about what the other person wants to say. The children don't do that. As a beginner you may be more focused on "body language" than an advanced student.
Bonjour, dans votre tableau pour : I want to= I wanna. Je ne comprends pas que vous écriviez dans spoken: I wanna, vous le placez avec I want to indiquant que c’est formal et également dans la colonne du bas : Spoken : I wanna = informal. Alors, je ne sais plus si, pour l’oral, si I wanna est formal ou informal? Merci de me le préciser s’il vous plaît! 🇨🇦Linda
@@lindafortin7999 Hi Linda! In written English, we should avoid using “I wanna” except in informal situations such as texting or writing on social media (Instagram, Facebook, etc). In spoken English, people say “I wanna” in both formal and informal situations. “I wanna” is what “I want to” sounds like in naturally spoken English.
Hi nice to meet your channel, you have a new subcriber teacher. You know I feel frustrated couse I understand, read English but it’s hard to me to speak fluently even I’m 40 years old and it’s hard to retain what I study I forget fast the grammar rule when I gonna talk ☹️☹️☹️🥺🥺 could you recommend me something to remember what I study please.
Some people recommend anki flash cards. But personally, I think remembering grammar and vocabulary is easiest when you do something that you enjoy in English consistently (every day). So for example, reading a book or watching a series in English with English subtitles (every single day) can be incredible for remembering vocabulary and grammar. The important thing is that you enjoy it and do it a LOT.
Thank you for the video! It's really helpful! I have a quick question. You said "Did you lock the door?" in Past Simple. If I say "Have you locked the door?" - would it be correct too or not? Thank you!
Actually, sounds may vary in t+ y= /tʃ/, s+y= /ʃ/, z+y =/ʒ/, d+y= /dʒ/. Remember, the topic is about sounds. Pass your plate/ʃ/ sound. Where's your fork? /ʒ/ sound. Why didn't you.../tʃ/. Did you.. /dʒ/ sound.
So, about stress syllables, is that why most of Americans don't understand in the context? I've been see a lot of videos about Americans struggling with it
I’ll make more videos about this topic. Usually, the word that gets stressed the most in a sentence is the main verb, noun, or adjective. Smaller “grammar words” (also called function words) like prepositions, articles, and auxiliary verbs are usually not stressed in a sentence. Don’t worry too much about this! It’s complicated and becomes easier the more you listen to English and adjust your ears to the sounds.
What do you think about the English that appears in Turkish novel dubbed into English or the one that appears in dubbed series? To me it sounds good and is well understood, I feel it is more neutral. for example th-cam.com/video/O8_xIj0Nzx4/w-d-xo.html
