  • Howdy Folks! This Is My Onewind Outdoors Hammock Kit Solo Test Camp Video. This was my first overnight use of the complete kit I purchased from Onewind Outdoors. Apart from getting some real use out of the products, It was a very relaxing, sorely needed bit of woods time.

Awesome video brother 👍. The forest is my church. Sacred ground. It's where I talk to God and figure things out. I think we all need that. Thanks for sharing brother. God bless

Not out of place at all. That is when you were talking about your situation and how blessed you are. It made me think of my wife how blessed I was and I'm sure I told you she passed away two years ago and she would have been the same way, she was the same way, she told me many times to get out and get away when she was sick but of course you know I was never going to do that. All I can say is I was blessed also to have had her in my life for the length of time that I did. Now onto the food I have tried that and it is wonderful I love it. I would go as far as to say that it is the best freeze dried food that I have ever eaten and I have eaten just about all of it. Well I kind of like that set-up you got there it looks like you like it and that's all accounts. I was disappointed at one thing that you did or actually didn't do and that was take your hat off and say grace before you ate your food but hey that's me just because I do it doesn't mean everyone has to do it and it doesn't always mean that you don't believe I know you do. Thanks for showing us the review on the onewind equipment. Stay vigilant and may God bless.

You've got a good point there, I should have said grace before I ate on the video. Thank you for reminding me.

I have been in a Onewind hammock for three years now and almost every weekend..It looks like it did the first time I used it...I will never go with another company... Very affordable and great quality...Once you get the whoopie sling Ridgeline set where you want it you never have to move it again...This may be the best tarp on the market... Onewind is the best kept secret in the hammock world...

    Great video, Brother !!!
The moisture may have been condensation.
I got that on the inside of my tarp the first time I used it out in the woods...no hammock or tent on that trip, all ground pounder stuff....a bivy sack, woobie, and my assault pack for a pillow.
Had the tarp, an Aqua Quest 10x13, rigged up really low, Infantry-style (knee to mid-thigh height), in a closed A-frame set up.
Woke up in a sauna....but, slept great !!!
Learned my lesson, to make sure I left some space for air to flow through, though.
Thank you for letting us into your adventures and experiments, Brother !!!
It is great to experience them through the focus of your camera !
Keep up the great work !!!

Thank you for including the panorama views of your camp spot. They brought back memories of where I built a cedar rail cabin as a lad and of many a site where my family camped while backpacking. So many of us feel comfortable in mixed hardwood forests with an understory of vegetation. Then there is the dappled sunlight!

looks pretty similar to the hennessy hammock i took on the AT, which i loved. yours has lots more bells and whistles. nice! the sleeves...mine were called snakeskins...work great for packing away once you get the hang of it. lots of practice is smart before going on an extended trip. that is one nice tarp! if i can make one suggestion, the reflective cord for tieouts really comes in handy to keep you from tripping over them during those nightime pee calls.

I have a Hennessy Bottom Entry (in Multicam, of course😉) which I love for summer camping. The OneWind "Woopie Sling" ridge line is finicky, I'm still working with it. I've used the kit several times since I filmed this video. More individual item videos are forthcoming. I had a "snakeskin" with my first hammock. It was the DD Bivy hammock (I think it has been phased out) and I loved it. The two piece "sleeve" (which I just looked at their website and they changed the title to Snake Skin Sleeve) is not nearly as good in any way as the DD Snakeskin. I saw where they were going with it, but, they aren't successful in their attempt.
I am a fan of the tarp! I really hope it holds up to winter camping as it is Super Light compared to my other tarps.
As you stated the guy lines are great. I decided to keep them. I tried high visibility/reflective 550 cord once and it looked like a bunch of jedi with lightsabers in the woods. Their cordage is very good quality and it is super thin and tough! I am going to see if I can buy just the cordage or find the equivalent from another source. I just filmed a video yesterday stating all that. The hammock loft is fantastic! Another benefit when you make those night time pee calls.
I would love to hear about your AT trip!

Brother John, lots of camping videos show how to use gear and cooking meals. Few infuse the listener with life lessons. Thanks for the brief sermon my friend.

A good heart-to-heart is appropriate anywhere, but especially in God's most special places. I'm happy to know you are blessed at home and in the woods. "I can do all things through Jesus who strengthens me", Philippians 4;16 if I remember correctly. I have issues remembering exact Bible verses.

I've been going over the prices of this setup on the Onewind website. To save money what would be your thoughts on using an army self-inflatable bedroll with reflective added under a sleeping bag from my MSS, instead of a bottom and top quilt? These are items I already own and trying to save a few bucks here and there. I will also incorporate the DD4x4 tarp.

    • @boonedockery7220
      @boonedockery7220  ปีที่แล้ว

A good under quilt is key! You can make your own out of a rectangular sleeping. The cold air from below is the killer of a good nights sleep. The difficult thing for having your insulation in the hammock is that the hammock compresses the sleeping bag insulation dramatically to 3/4 of your body. The DD 4x4 tarp is my favorite winter camping tarp!
