Other Information Relevant To The Albaz Storyline:
- White Zoa is encapsulated in a shell that's part of the Branded Theater, which could possibly be referencing to the Egg in the Zoa Diagram.
- The Bystials have names that are a combination of a kind of Dragon and the name of an ancient King: Baldrake is Drake + Baldrus, Druidwurm is Lindwurm + Druis, Magnumut is Bahamut + Magus, and Saronir is Fafnir + Saron.
- For The Book Of Revelations, two 'Beasts' are very prevalent. One that comes from the Sea, analogous to the Great Sand Sea - Gold Golgonda. This beast has many heads, and is given authority by the Dragon. It has multiple heads, so all of this lines up to describe Bystial Lubellion, especially when they're connected to Alba Los.
- The second beast is a False Prophet that comes out of the earth, which sounds a like like how White Zoa/Maximus emerges from the Branded Theater. While there's nothing that directly confirms White Zoe is themselves Maximus, the second beast is described as 'causes all people to receive the mark of the beast "in their right hand or in their forehead." ', which is basically what Maximus has been doing as head of the Dogmatika church.
- One section of the Book of Revelations says: Heaven opens and a figure on a white horse appears, followed by "the armies which were in heaven". Fittingly, Kitt arrives and provides Shuraig with the Bucephalus II, named after the White Horse ridden by Alexander the Great, another ancient king.

Honestly Dramaturge and Ad Libitum becoming the finally foe of the lore makes this all come full circle. It started with Maximus and their loyal warrior and it’ll end with Maximus and their loyal warrior. Maybe not the same form or powers but it’ll still be them
In the Book of Revelation, The Beast is also rode by a beautyfull woman in a red dress who slept with the the great kings (the Bysstials as you mentioned in the comment), being the opposite of the Vergin Mary (maybe Ecclesia). So i think the Beast from the Earth is Aluber/Lubellion since he is the major influence among the forces of Despia and he's the "leader" of the Bysstial Archetype, this might be why he is represented so close in the artwork of Branded Beast. Cartesia and Grand Gugnol are based on the woman who rides the Beast as they're body are connected and in the Artwork of Branded Regain where she's embracing a Bysstial and in why she's so eager to potect Lubellion in Branded Inevitable.
Albaz storyline in a nutshell: "Oh, you thought _that_ was the heroes' darkest hour? _Cute._ Here's this new set of awful things happening to them."
Konami almost go all Urobutcher mode, (known for his work on Psychopass and Madoka Magica), but without mind blown revelations, at least up till now, imo.

Hell it seems to be happening too with the (seemingly) new lore overlords that will completely take over once Abaz is gone, Visas Starfrost, and his many(?) twin brothers(?).
Whoever Konami chooses as the big storyline of the season doesn't have much fun it seems.
Pretty much every long running card lore is like this in yugioh, At least Visas Starfrost lore like seems like it's going to be relatively short.

This lore was the sole reason I got into the Branded, Albaz, Dogmatica, ect. I absolutely love it. I would kill to see this lore get its own series or movie some day. Konami could do it easily. It would take a while, but deserves it.

The Duel Terminal story line was also great and long, worthy of a long anime/manga series, but we can only hope for now. Sky Striker is a ray of hope that 1 part of the company is doing Yugioh lore manga now.
@@binhanh296 one among great arcs, DT, WL and this, the Branded. one which is kinda hard to notice, True Draco and Visas Starforst. and many side story and stand alone universe like Sky Strikers, Vendread, Kozmo, Goblins and Knights of old Duel Monsters era, many more. if only Konami made a cameo of interlinked world, that would be a blast.

One little bit of trivia I heard about Branded Light, apparently from a Valuable Book.
Albaz never referred to Ecclesia by her name, calling her “Saint-Sama” in Japanese and “Ms Saint” in English. Until Branded Light, where all Albaz was screaming that could be heard by all was her name, “ECCLESIA!!!! ECCLESIA!!!!” Yearning for her to wake up, his voice filled with regret and agony.
If this is not proof that he loves Ecclesia, idk what is. But it is a fun bit of trivia about the lore.
With this trivia, you could assume that Branded Light is a sadder parallel to Branded Bond where Ecclesia calmed Albaz through the use of his name. He might be hoping he can restore her in the way that she did him, hoping that it isn't too late for his friend/the girl he loves
God dang that is so sad. Im like genuinely feeling bad for Albaz and Ecclesia.

Agreed, they only came about after Albaz's powers were taken. Its likely that they are what his powers were before the Fall and the forms he was taking were just manifestations utilizing the surroundings as a medium
One thing that I really love with the Albaz cards lately has just been how amazing the artworks are on them. They're all incredible in this department, and it just seems like they get better and better, to the point where White Zoa, Grand-Guignol, and Branded Light are 3 of my favorite artworks in the whole game.
Also shout out to Konami revealing Lindwurm, Branded Inevitable, and Branded Light all an hour apart from each others, rather than at once or a day apart like they did for other cards. It really built up the tension with the story incredibly well in real time, while leaving us on a cruel cliffhanger.
The artwork for this entire lore series has been nothing short of insane!
Granguignol is one the same level as the two Envoy cards as some of the best in the whole game
Something I’ve just noticed, the card design is so incredibly good at showing how horribly oppressive the Dogmatika regime really was in an interesting way:
Each major archetype uses a different extra deck summoning mechanic. Links for tri-brigades, Fusions for Albaz, XYZ for Springans, and Synchros for Swordsoul/Icejade. All of the inhabitants of this world in one way or another utilize the extra deck.
The Dogmatika monsters excel at shutting down the extra deck, really driving home the point of how they keep the others under their control.

Add to thhat, the Dogmatika utilize Rituals, the only mechanic that has no tie to the extra deck. So while they can bring out their own special summons, they block the other tribes from having an easy time

I've seen every single one of these lore videos and now I'm so emotionally attached to Albaz and Crew that I don't know if I have the guts to play Branded/Despia for a long time, I feel genuinely horrible for playing the Despia cards, dear lord.
I don't care what kind of card 'Ecclesia + Albaz' becomes or how powerful it will be, I love the lore so much that I will put it in my Branded deck regardless!!!
P.s. Many people have already said this, but I love how the story becomes Gurren Laggan-esque whenever Kitt arrives.

Branded Light honestly gives me some hope, because in-game it can be used after using Lindwurm to knock out Grand-Guinol, using Lindwurm as cost (Albaz jumping), and "catching" Ecclesia (summoning Cartesia back to the field and fusing her with Albaz).
We need an Anime of just this lore and the crazy action of these sets. heck id even pay to see it because the themes and art style of these cards is just so interesting

Have to compliment you on your use of "Tales of..." music. Perfectly done.
God the instrumental version of Ring a Bell always gives me chills. Vesperia music is so fitting to this whole storyline. Not to mention, this whole storyline has given way to a LOT of Tales vibes. Namely the aforementioned but also Tales of the Abyss in relation to the church.
There's one thing you did not mentioned for gigantic champion sargas, because it's not a springan XYZ we can use the effect of gold golgonda to discard a springan and summon a spingan XYZ monster from the extra because we do not control any Springan XYZ. So it has the same use as Vespenato but this is WAYYYYYYYYYY better and is actually making the archetype good against most of the decks it wasn't able to out and playable as a pure variant deck

I've been imagining combos on this forever. Honestly, I'm tempted to reduce my Springans main deck monsters to 1x each and just run a consistent R4nk engine like Scrap Raptor/Chimera and stuff. For good 2.5 card combos, you only need one of the 9 copies of Scraptor and 10 copies of Gold Golgonda each. This means far less bricks, but once you banish for Branga, you kinda need ways to get those materials back. I'm still messing around with it.

Now the White Zoa appeared, I'm not so sure if it is on the same side with Aluber. Aluber the Dogmatic stated that he himself also came from the Abyss, was mocking the light and deceiving the darkness, in which were Dogmatica and Despia. In many story, the Jester characterslike Aluber mostly act with his own plan to get advantages for his own, not realizing the great power the one behind his organization had. In some of those stories, the Jester sided with the main character group to fight off the big boss first, then settle their differences later. One of those characters seemed to be Vegeta in Dragon Ball when he first appeared. He did things for his own gain even thought he was working for the Frieza army, then he had to fight against Frieza together with the main character group and has been keeping a friendly rival relationship with Goku until now.

Nova, you REALLY nailed the format on this one. Going over the cards in one section stops them from interrupting the story, and the second section is just dramatic enough without getting cheesy. I usually hate dialogue sections, but they were used sparingly and effectively, and I feel like a teacher when I say this, but your prose is excellent.
Really went above and beyond for a story that can be summed up as "In response, they turned into a dragon/robot"

If there's anything that we can learn from this: is that Kitt will always stays winning.
My guess is that Dramaturge/White Zoa didn't show up until after Alba Los was destroyed because joining the battle before that point would hamper him as well. (Alba Los negates effects of every super-type of monster on the field)
Best part of this lore - Golden Nova narrating it! Seriously, I NEVER would've cared about this lore if it hadn't been for you and this channel fleshing it out. And now, it's easily one of the Top 10 anime I've ever witnessed 🤣But now on to that looming sadness you get when your favorite show ends for the season, and you have to wait another year for more...

According to the concept art of buchephalos II, the weapon made by kitt was made with what is left on the battlefield and probably a lot of glue... So pretty much I can imagine this situation

You know, I just thought a ironic way for Ecclesia to get back at Aluber. What if: when Aluber ask for Cartesia (who is turning back to Ecclesia ) for help, she use her powers to give him the middle finger and to just to be extra petty, she can take her shoe, that have sharp edges, and throw it into Alubur's right eye.
I love how lindwurm is basically the berserk Fury from Zoids
Exciting stuff. This story feels so much like a JRPG and I love it. I’m expecting every theme to receive a card again next set. Albaz will fuse with Ecclesia to make a brand new dragon. Then the new Dragon along with the support of the Springans, Tri Brigade, and Gymir will face off against white Zoa and Lubellion. We’ll most likely see the end of White Zoa being dealt the final blow by Albaz and then end with our heroes triumphant and celebrating. At least that’s how I see it playing out.

Bro, just wanna say I absolutely love how you narrate these it makes it even more exciting to hear along with the music choices
It pains my soul to imagine Ecclesia dying in the end of all this, but I can only imagine this story ending with a fusion between her and Albaz. The two are on their last legs, Ecclesia (Now as Cartesia) is likely near death and Albaz is barely hanging on himself. The fusing of the two could save them both and, more importantly, let them be together. I also assume that Queratis isn't dead simply because Cartesia took the blast. They were connected, sure, but it was almost a parasitic connection, and it's possible that Aluber will fuse with Queratis to make a truly dreadful monstrosity of a dragon.
My assumptions have no basis, but I think it'll end with Tri-Brigade ending the Zoa and finally killing off the last of Dogmatika's oppressive stigma, potentially with the help of Sargus and the Springans since they tag teamed already to defeat Alba Los. Meanwhile the Icejades, maybe with some intervention from the last of the Swordsouls still alive (As far as I know from all the lore I've seen, we don't have any evidence beyond Mo Ye that any of the others are dead. Chenying, Chixiao, Chunjun and Taia might still be alive and merely regrouping for a coordinated assault. Perhaps even Adin and Theo could hop in), finish off the traitorous Longyuan for good, ending his sinister ambitions once and for all.
Then, at the top of it all, The fusion of Lubellion and Queratis, in whatever unholy mess it becomes, looms over the now invigorated and spiritually joined fusion of Albaz and Ecclesia, Ecclesia using the power she had as Cartesia to connect with Albaz (Since Albaz can't transform himself after all). Lubellion-Queratis, so sure of his power having full control over the Brand, boasts of his inevitable triumph while Albaz-Ecclesia merely readies themselves. They clash and everything starts off bleak, as Lubellion-Queratis is terrifyingly powerful, but eventually, the heroes start to overcome the mighty foe. Maybe their friends interfere, and tip the scales in their favor, or maybe Albaz and Ecclesia's bond with each other brings out a power that couldn't be expected. It wouldn't be a major fight against the forces of evil and chaos without a little bit of the power of love and anime chipping in at the last moment after all.
However the final bit would play out, in the end, Lubellion-Queratis will be defeated, the Brand shattered and powerless, and the Holes closing up for good. There is much rejoicing, but all is not happy in this ending. Despite the fall of the evil Demon/Dragon-thing, Albaz and Ecclesia were too weak from their pre-fused states, and they start to fade, their body failing, unable to move. Even with their friends and allies at the ready to help, they are too far gone to be saved, and it ends with their souls, separated from their fused self, being together in eternal rest. Sacrificing themselves to save the world, they are honored as the world is reformed in the wake of the corrupt church of Dogmatika and the evil machinations of the Despians. A bright, yet somber conclusion to an epic storyline.
Will this be how it goes down? Ehhh, probably not, but I'd really enjoy an ending like that. Would tie everything together quite nicely I think.
This is... actually... good lol. It will be sad if only Ecclesia dies alone leaving Albaz. It will also be too boring & cliché if it ends up with 100% happy ending of both still alive. Albaz dies in Ecclesia's place will also be sad and unfair for Ecclesia.
The best thing I can agree with is your suggestion. Just make them both as heroes of this world and make them sacrifice both of their lives

And then I could totally see Gymir vs. Swordsoul Dragon playing out like Seiros vs. Nemesis at the start of 3Houses. He did take everything that Gymir loved from her.
Longyuan being "saved" from death explains why the effect is relatively weak compared to his Synchro form. It isn't an upgrade so much as a salvage.
I have been waiting for the so patiently that for some time now I never looked at the new cards, so that I could learn about them in this video and boy was it worth it. I am so excited for the final act and I hope that you will put enough or even more work on it like all of your videos related to this lore.

Something I think is worth noting: each of the first four Bystials (Druiswurm, Magnamhut, Saronir, and Lubellion) have a head adornment with a similar shape to one of the symbols in the circles on Alba-Lenatus' artwork
Druiswurm's white horn and head looks a lot like the cross shape in the top circle, Magnamhut's cage mask is the same shape as the upside-down pentagon in the right circle, Saronir's gem and eyebrows form the pentagon with a curve under it in the leftmost circle, and Lubellion's tusk horns form the crescent shape in the bottom circle

Nova, I seriously love your videos covering Albaz. I returned to playing YGO after many years with the Albaz Strike Decks(bought 3 because I'm an adult now haha). I converted it to an invoked Albaz but, your videos are making me want to make it a lore friendly Albaz, Ecclesia, and Kitt deck. Thanks for the content mate!

Bruh what Dogmatikatrix is sooo good. It's literally Nadir Servant going second. Wish White Zoa let you choose the effect but honestly it's best all round effect is it's 3rd MAKE EVERYTHING UNAFFECTED BY MONSTER effect. I'm NGL if Tear and Sprite get hit on the banlist when photon hypernova comes out ritual dogmatika could actually be a tiered deck.

Anyone found it odd that "The Bystial Alba Los" has very robotic heads when destroyed? I get was meant to be a statue at first, but it just feels odd somehow

I would like to point out, and I'm sure it's been mentioned elsewhere, but "Fallen of Albaz" has an odd and specific mirror to one mentioned character: that being the fallen angel. It seems likely that Aluber, given his takeover of the Dogmatika, is more closely tied to Adam in the poem, while Albaz is more closely tied to Satan, which might tell us something about the story. We might use it to infer that the reason Albaz was treated so aggressively by the church was more than mere fear. He might be mentioned in their dogma, or the church might have specifically been commanded to destroy Albaz by a patron, one most holy of figures in their texts. The prototypical man who wields the most holy of power and shares it with men, Aluber.

Lore aside, kudos on the Xenoblade music, at first I was like: "Hmmm, that kinda sorta sounds like Xenoblade... nah, I'm imagining things" And the piano into for "The Power of Jin" began to play.
WOW. It's unbelievably frustrating how such great work of fiction, the Albaz Saga, with storytelling that the Yu-Gi-Oh anime, not even 5Ds (the best of them), can rival (no disrespect to Takahashi-sensei, rest in peace, but these are facts), that can stand beside the epic adventures of the past 30 years in both Eastern and Western media, has been kept away from us because nobody in Japan thought that we would be interested, so we have to really dig all of this up. You, sir, after watching all 10 videos in this series, are someone who I think share personal values with, which I think is the reason the Albaz Saga resonates so much with us both. My last deck, which I still have, is Invoked Shaddoll Dogmatika OCG (I'm from the Philippines) in its 2020 build. The cards involving Albaz and Ecclesia have always intrigued me for some reason, but I never looked too deep into them besides the wikis. By some weird twist of fate, I felt like getting back into the game recently and saw the Structure Deck: Albaz Strike on the shelf of our FLGS, which was perfect because I have always loved using the Albaz part of my old deck. While looking up Albaz deck strategies online...TH-cam decided to recommend Part 1 of your Albaz Lore video series...and the rest, as they say, is history.
Suddenly, I'm invested in the fate of Albaz and Ecclesia on the same level as I would Eduard and Alphonse in FMA, or Ryuji and Taiga from Toradora, and other great stories. This has been a wild ride, and correct me if I'm wrong, but is the Albaz Saga the longest-running story in the YGO card game? Are there are other storylines from past expansions that are comparable to this? I'd really like to know! But also, I don't, because I might end up building a deck because of it! Do you know that following the Swordsoul Arc, I decided to buy someone's Swordsoul deck containing Ecclesia 2 just so I can play a part of the story?
Lore is the last thing I expected from YGO; the reason I got so deep into Magic: The Gathering and Warhammer 40,000, spending tens of thousands of dollars is because the game is supposed to be a vehicle for me to relive the stories that I read about in the novels or webcomics. The Albaz Saga, with the bits that you and everyone else were able to gather, is already on the same level as the epic narrative from the games; if it would only receive the full manga or light novel treatment, then it might even surpass them.
Thank you for making all of this possible. I'll never look at my Dogmatika and Albaz cards the same way ever again. Heck, I'll never look at Yu-Gi-Oh the same way ever again.
Im really excited for the cards from this set. I use a dumb Albaz Lore Pile deck (Mostly themed around The various forms of Ecclesia and Albaz) and I plan on incorporating an icejade package of 3 cradle, 3 aegirine, 1 manifestation, 1 aegirocassis, and 1 tremora (there in case i draw the aegirocassis so that the package is still usable) in order to Summon Gymir. Just out of sheer Hatred for Bystials.
(Also semi unrelated but i really Hope in Cyberstorm Access we get either a fusion or Synchro thats a Combination of Ecclesia and Albaz)
Imagine if Pendulum Monsters were also introduced somewhere within the timeline. But I guess as of now, everything is coming to a close.
Daaamn. When I started master duel a year ago I knew I loved the tri-brigade archetype immediately, but I didn't know I'd love them even more from a backstory aspect. They're so fuckin cool lmao

Ngl, this is one reason archetypes are amazing. We can get these kinds of long running narratives and theming on top of getting new powerful support cards (or vice versa). I genuinely wish Fleurdelis came back in spirit somehow to clock the shit out of White Zoa, to make this come full circle. Like, maybe she can somehow reach into Zoa and break free the other 664 souls it absorbed.
Another thing, I think Bucephalus II might have one of Mirrorjade's blades or horns as part of its structure. The lance's red-blue coloration seems to look physical and not just the Sprights' energies. Small detail but that kinda adds to the finality of it all, like, the Tri-Brigades might not had met the Icejades physically, but in this final battle they are connected.
dogmatika has been an enemy to both side, so it's not a surprise if they would join force when the time and circumstances arrives.
Lore being good as ever i see and imagine that were getting albaz and eclesia fusion which would be really cool

Such a good video. Have loved this lore ever since I first heard it. Just a couple of questions though; has it been confirmed that the cyber storm access box will be the end of the albaz story? Also, I don’t think that ecclesia is dead, since the card is called branded light, and not something else.
Also, I guess I should’ve known about white zoa having been dramaturge and Ad lib. Thought it was fleur taken over, and the fleur dead could’ve been an illusion for ecclesia as dramaturge was for fleur. Is fleur now part of the finale dragon maybe? Definitely have questions, but I love it nonetheless, and it seems like I was right about there being at least 1-2 more fusion monsters for albaz, and BOY do I look forward to it. :)
