- This is a short video project about the Hare Krishna movement in Ghana, documenting a religious festival that was held in the central city of Kumasi. I am an african and devotee of krishna and still protecting our tribal beliefs.
All tribal beliefs are held true by sanatan dharama..Krishna says in bhagwat Gita, "all paths come to me"..whosoever you worship, i shall make your faith stronger..all worship is ultimately reaching me.☺

When Hinduism was practiced in most of the world, there were no war. Agriculture, Education and Architecture flourished. Then came The so called civilised religion that claimed better and soon came another. War , discrimination, crime against minority religion everything came with them. Hinduism brought the world together and others decided them. And now some countries going back to the roots.
Hi Amar.. as a general rule the sanatan vedic way of life doe not discriminate or divide individuals on the basis of their birth... and about the lienage based caste structure.. it has no sanction in vedantic and vishudhh sanatan darshan.. again I would encourage you to read more when kt comes to upanishads brahmanas and other scriptures... you wil realize that whatever divisions and discriminations and injustices in the name of caste have been perpetrated have happened ONLY after the mahabharata war.. prior to that anybody could attain any caste by virtues, practice self restraint and 'Tapasya'... also if I were 'amar khadse' born in India.. instead of abusing the ills of my society and my people I would work towards harmoniously reforming and rectifying the same , rather than generalizing and abusing the spiritual practices of India

Sanatana Dharma do not denote to a creed like Christianity or Islam, but represents a code of conduct and a value system that has spiritual freedom as its core. Any pathway or spiritual vision that accepts the spiritual freedom of others may be considered part of Sanatana Dharma. it teaches that Ultimate goal for a Human Life is Self realization. It is to acquire true devotion, perfect happiness, supreme bliss and satisfaction in life time and freedom after death.

This is not Hinduism. This is Sanatan dharma , which is for all human beings. There's no such thing as converts. Sanatan dharma says anything that increases your love for God, accept it for life. There you can love god in any form. But as Prophet Muhammad said he isn't allah, he is messenger of allah. And Jesus Christ said He's son Of God. so buy examining all the scriptures together. There's only one supreme personality of Godhead. That's Krishna. So don't take him as God of Hindu's only. he's Supreme for all. Even Half of Hindu's doesn't knows that he's supreme. but logically sanatan dharma proves it in every possible way.

+Pallab Naskar First of all there is no such thing as "Gods". it's God. Logically also God can not be two or multiple. There can be only one supreme. Just like there can not be two president of a country.
As far as concerned about other demigods (Devi - Devta) , They are just like us, but they have got higher position in the spiritual sky. For example Indra is not a person, it's a Post. In this mahayuga (Total of all 4 yugas) there's a person sitting on that throne ,who's known as indra. As per bhagavat purana In the next mahayuga , King bali, the grand son of Prahalada maharaj is going to sit on that throne. and will be known as indra for a whole next mahayuga. In the same way all the demigods are just individual person who got the higher place in spiritual sky. That's why krishna says in Bhagavad gita ," Those who's intelligence is stolen by material desires. only those worships demigods. From which they get temporary fruits. And That also is provided by me to that demigod."
And about Lord shiva,
we can not compare him with demigods, He isn't a demigod. He's one of Topmost devotees of Lord Krishna.
It is said In Bhagavat Purana
"Vaisnavanam Yatha Shambhuh"
Amongst all vaisnavas , Shiva is the topmost.
Therefore he also has his own Disciplic succession named "Rudra-sampradaya".
Because Always leads his devotees to lord Krsna.
Even he once told her wife Mata sati when asked about if he's 'Devo k dev Mahadev' , On whome do he meditates!!?
He answered sweetly," He sati, I meditate on Lord Hari, the supreme personality of Godhead. You should also hear his glories and glorify him."
so we should always seek for lord Shiva's mercy, May he gives us Bhakti as he gave to mata sati and Narsinh Mehta.
Not only lord shiva, but also lord brahma sings Lord krsna's Glories in his Brahma samhita.
Also great aacharya's like Madhavacharya, Ramanujacharya , Gargamuni , Narada and many more have already admitted that lord Krishna is the supreme personality of Godhead.
Even Shankaracharya (Qualitative incarnation of lord shiva) sings to his disciples,
"Bhaja Govindam, Bhaj Govindam,
bhaj govindam, Mudhmate,
Samprapte sanihite Kale,
nahi nahi raksanti dukrikg Karane"
"Hey You, sing te names of Govinda, sing the name of govinda, sing the name of govinda, There's no other solution, When death will come in front of you, This material knowledge won't save you from that."

Although I am not a Vaishnavite, I greatly respect ISKON. I am happy that instead of dictates of scriptures, people are choosing the path of dharma where humanity thinks for itself. Someone here talked about tribal beliefs. If I may, all tribal systems allowed free thinking, and are thereby aligned to dharmic traditions. ISKON brings some very good and practical guidelines toward attaining spiritual goals which are totally in alignment with tribal practices which also had the same goal. Faith-based belief systems called religions, that prohibited free thinking, went completely in opposite direction to dharmic traditions that includes ISKON and tribal practices.

Christianity is hell bent in converting everybody and you are giving title 'holier than thou', please change the title. Go back to history and study the rise of christianity and islam, both are drenched with blood of innocent people. Christianity and islam rose with violence not by peace. Believing otherwise is like believing in santa claus!
In Hare Krishna movement and in true Vedic religion there is no untouchability, those were created by some pervert brahmins and kings who didn't have much knowledge. Now its clear like the sun. So there is not untouchability or caste system in real vedic religion.
Lord Krishna says in 4 and 18 chapters of Gita that there are 4 varnas - bramins, kshatriyas, vaishyas and shudras. But He also says that bramin is not just man who were born in bramin family, bramin is one who has proper qualities - so even man born in mlechha family can be bramin if he has qualities listed in Gita.
And also man can be untochable if he has bad qualities - eats meat, drinks alcohol, atheist, has no manners, liar, thief and so on.

yes in Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna says that the 4 varnas of brahmins, kshatriyas, vaishyas and shudras were created by Him according to guna (CHARACTER) and karma (ACTIONS), and not by birth.

Simply wow. As a hindu I always believed that we don't proselytize. There is no 'conversion' but its a state of mind and way or life. You can be a christian or muslim and still pick hindu values and views. But this is great to see african hindus. Who would have thunk. Nice to see happy hindus who enjoy bliss and peace on this planet. Its a good force sometimes in a continent where we hear there is lot of violence and misery. God consciousness is a good harmonizing force. More power to such people.
when you know something Good don't you want to share with others? This is how the Hindu Dharma spread in the indian subcontinent and even to china, korea japan etc. But it was not called Hindu that name came later. But the teaching was spread. It is just that the teachings are taught to those who are interested because it is not just a belief. You have to live the life of awareness.
During the 800 muslim rule followed by almost 200 British rule the Dharma religions (Hindu, Boudha, Jain) declined due to prosecution specially of the knowledgeable Brahmans. Sikh Dharma was created to counter the Muslim autrocities to the Dharmic people and has its unique set of teachings grounded in the Dharma tradition.
Today most people born in Dharma (specially Hindu) do not know or follow the teachings of the Dharma tradition. It is just that they are born in the tradition. if you can realize the teachings, it is so wonderful.

Hinduism is a science. Swami Prabhupada wrote about the SCIENCE of Krishna consciousness which includes chanting, singing, dancing and living modestly. It has a meaningful answer to the traps of materialism and If this makes sense to someone, then he can follow it without problem. I get the feeling that many millions will turn to this science over the next decades, especially in the face of threats from intolerant people.

ISKCON helps people to be pious people who do not indulge in criminal activities or who are not drunkards or crooked people. Living purely on Truth alone is the greatest thing what one can do in this life. I think you are more Hindu than me or my fellow Indians in India. Appreciate your interest in the greatest religion of the world. Start Reading books on Hinduism and I am sure people will realise that it will take so many lives to complete reading at least a quarter of books.
