    This was very helpful to me. By default it appears that every college professor in mathematics is forced to go through everything at the speed of light being that the material is more condensed than a high school course would be. This filled in so many gaps for me. Very thorough and I can't appreciate that enough.

    I watched several TH-cam videos. You are the only one who led me to understand what transitive closure is. I subscribed. Thank you :) And btw, you are a funny teacher lol

    About Transitive part of "Does not equal" :
    Explanation in video says " It is not transitive" based on the argument of type a => b b => a & there is no a => a
    But isn't the definition of Transitive a => b b => c Then there should be a=>c
    So 1 => 2 =>1 in the video is a => b => a which violates the definition of Transitive property.
    I calculate this example Transtive

    • @LearnYouSomeMath
      @LearnYouSomeMath  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The definition of transitivity does not assume that a, b and c are DISTINCT elements of the set, so "does not equal" is not transitive on sets with more than one element, due to the a -> b -> a case that you cited.
