I was about to ask for a refund of my whole brand new Pre-built FPV drone, new fat shark goggles, new Q X7 transmitter, all because I could not do the update firmware to get the bind process work. Thanks to you for being so explicit and to mention every single thing. I had a problem when I was writing the transmitter firmware on companion but it suddenly works after I changed the USB cable to the other port of my PC. Another problem that I had was that the micro sd was empty when I checked it on my transmitter, the micro sd was from my Nintendo switch and the transmitter was not recognizing it. I had to format the card but with the transmitter itself just by holding the menu button on the sd card page. After that, I was able to put all the files inside the card as you explain to us, and now everything is running perfectly on the transmitter! I really appreciate the time and effort that you put into this video, you deserve my like and subscription.

I get what they are trying to do from a tech aspect but what a hot mess of a path to get there!

Precisely for that reason - I want to draw your attention to point around 16 min in your video ..
What you actually did - was flashing OTX again - not the bootloader ..
For bootloader flash - you go to - normal power up - long menu for Radio Settings - and flash from same file in Firmware folder ..
It makes sense - easiest way to explain to people - you can not flash bootloader from bootloader - same goes for OTX "operating system" - it was one of the reasons bootloader was introduced at first place - to be able to flash OTX while it is not operating ..
Oh dam your right. I completely over looked that. I can believe I missed that. From inside the file menu is how I always explain to people how to update the boot loader. Thank you for pointing that out.

@@TweetFPV Do you think i fried my VTX? I cant connect my o4xs... everything looks good on betaflight. Its talking to the FC.. ready? > yes.. bands and channels are idential. Not in pit mode etc... I fired my xilo VTX with no antenna for about a min by accident... I have nothing on my goggles not even a OSD (which usually can be seen with no camera considering that was the fault)...
Also, On my VTX out pad i get 0.00 mV on the yellow wire when its connected to video input on my VTX. Weird thing is, when i remove the wire off the VTX video input, then i get signal voltage from the wire again. approx 1-2-300 mV .. uk, signal. so im guessing i fried my VTX? also it wont come out of pit mode.. lights are blinking etc... just nothing in the goggles!
@@peteyyboyyy93 do you get a black screen or just static in your goggles? If you get a black screen and when you unplug the quad does that channel turn to static?

Thanks you soooo much just got a new access receiver Friday and couldn't the thing to register a receiver! I guess all it needed was The newest version of open tx and the isrm firmware! Just watched your video an everything works fine now! Great timing on the video! Thanks again SO MUCH! liked and subbed!
Thanks. I've been sitting on this one for a while. Everything keeps changing and just recently the changes have slowed. Hopefully this is relevant in a few months still.
So glad they made the binding process even more complicated - just need to find another 2 hands - thought the 3 handed version before was a ball break but this takes the ....
Well done Frsky not - losing customers by the droves and deservedly so (don't even have to register a dog in the UK never mind a receiver, who thought that one ?) Frsky must be following a Marketing Plan written by their competitors and unusually they are doing a very good job in executing it (-:
I'm sorry you must have misunderstood. The register process is the same as the old binding process was. After that you don't need to press the bind/register button again.

I took the added step of renaming the SD card in my X9D+2019. Now it's easy to find 'Taranis SD Card" in File Explorer (Windows)

Hello maybe you can help me urgently. I bought an x9 lite remote control but can't use it on the liftoff for the simulation course. I manage to calibrate it but when playing it tells me that the throttle is not activated, I cannot know where and how it is activated

The new Isrm firmware in my Horus X10 express will not allow binding of my tiny whoops with spi recievers. Can I flash the older firmware back on my X10 so they will work again in D16. Thanks.

great explanation... just one question... flying LBT mode (EU), is there a international and LBT vesion to flash the the ISRM mode ? (taranis CD+2019) or is it just one version ?
Just one version. Your radio will know what region to make it based on where it was sold. There is a Lua to change from fcc to lbt if needed.

Hi, I have an older X9Dplus year 2015, Opentx 2.3.39 but on screen 7 I don't have option Modules/RX version. Help?
Yea your older accst radio won't have that option. That is just for the newer access radios.
GREAT video! I have one question. I am trying to update the ISRM. Following along with you, My SD card has the content on it, but when I got to update the ISRM the radio shows nothing on the SD card (16gig) . Using Q X7 firmware and boot loader current. Any suggestions or help would be awesome. Thanks
That's a new one. My guess is that you don't have the Sd card contents in the root directory of the Sd card. Or perhaps it wasn't formatted properly.

Are you connecting with a USB or putting the Sd card in a reader?
@@TweetFPV connecting via USB, the pc detected 2 additional drive, one is taranis (working), and the other one should be the SD inside the taranis (not working: "message: Please insert a disk into USB Drive")
You'll probably need to pull the card and format it on in a computer.

thank for the awesome video im new to the hobby and just switch to fr sky witch has been very frustrating so far i just need a help to figure out how to set up elevons on my taranis x 9 lite i dowloaded firm but could never find the modle type screen what did i do wrong??????
There is an option in the opentx companion to enable the new model wizard.

Please show HOW to get access to the transmitter, I do not get anny connection by connecting the USB cabel.
I'm not sure why you are having problems accessing the radio. Go into your system menu (long hold the menu button), go to the radio setup page and at the bottom there is an option that says USB mode. Change that to "ASK". If you connect it to your PC and nothing happens I would try a different USB cable. If that doesn't work try a different PC and if that doesn't work then it possible that your USB port is damaged.
I had to update the PMU. Have two X9 lites early production versions. One would not power up the external module IRangerX.
Yea the early models mostly needed it. There are some other issues with the mulit protocol modules as well.

when i try to flash with x9d+2019 the program tells me that the firmware is not campatible . But as far as i understand That is the right firmware. When i hit the power a picture will show up but then it stops. When it came with the mail i could read on the parcel

I MADE IT. Hade to uncheck the box for compability test. Just make it write over the existing firmware. It was a to old firmware

you can not bind to the tiny hawk in D8 with this radio unless you use an external module that is capable of D8 like the XJT lite or the other multiprotocol modules that are available like this one usa.banggood.com/custlink/DKvhPfaDN3. You can however bind certain models of tinyhawk using D16 mode.

I've seen this before. If you are sure you have the right fw downloaded. When you flashed deselect the check hardware compatibility box when you go to flash the new version.

What is the difference between updating os firmware from frsky website or opentx companion? I'm confused whivh way to update. Frsky sent me video how to update from there website but then I see everyone updating radios through opentx companion. Any info would appreciate
Do not use the website fw. Those are basically in house development builds. The fw from the companion is the most updated fw with all the community built features.
@@TweetFPV Right on appreciate you replying back so quick. I have qx7 access that as you stated in this is in the very basic firmware it comes with. I have all 5 quads working. There is 2 I'm going to put r9 access system into. Just trying to figure out what the very least I need to do just to make sure everything stays working lol
If your quads are working I would ONLY update opentx. Do not update the isrm fw unless you plan to update the receiver fw on all of your quads.

Do you know if me getting this r9m access that I will have to update open tx or will it work on stock access version of radio? I know external has r9 access and regular r9 protocols
So there are 2 different things on your radio. The operating system is opentx that just handles how the radios inputs (sticks and switches) are co figured and act. Then there is in your case the isrm fw. This is what controls the rf signal in and out of the radio. Your r9 module will have its own set of fw the be flashed to it that is in dependant of the isrm.
Hey Tweet, I just got an Access Q x7. Is the crossfire mod required or like the older versions or can i just buy the TBS crossfire module now without physically opening up the radio and doing some solder modifications?
I believe you still need to do the inverter mod, but I'm not 100% sure.
Hey man, So I am running on a version from last year on my x9 lite and have been wondering about updating it... right now all my quads are either RXSR, XM, or XM+, with a few D8 that I run with an Irangex module. Pretty sure all these are ACCST. Will I have to update the firmware on each and every receiver for them to work after I do this update? or should it still work with older ACCST xm+ and rxsr? Thanks!!!
If you only update opentx then you won't need to change anything. But if you update the internal rf then you might need to start updating receiver too.

Possibly. It all depends on what firmer version is on the rxsr.

You can update the operating system (opentx) without a sd card, but you'll need a sd card to update the transmitter (isrm) firmware or the reciever firmware if needed.
Most likely your rxsr has accst fw V 1.1.3 on it so as long as you don't already have isrm 2.x on your isrm then you should be fine.

Hey Thanks for the video! I followed along but ran into some trouble. My internal module won't turn on, and therefore I can't update the ISRM. I get "FW update error Not responding".
you need to have a model selected that has the internal RF active.
TweetFPV Double checked and the internal model is on. Just to be sure I created a new model from scratch and tried it with internal set to ACCST D16 and also to ACCESS. Still no luck. When I go to Version page 7/7 my internal module says " - - - " and FW update fails.
Which radio do you have?

There is a power management unit update for that radio. It is avalible from the frsky website. Try the pmu update and see if that helps.
Wow they make this way too complicated. I did most the updates I believe but can't get tinyhawk s to bind. Just gonna put crossfire on it lol way easier. I give up on the internal module 🤷♂️🤯
After I recover my x9d SE radio, dfu mode, the firmware version is show ---/2.1.0 and got antena warning ,after install v1.1.3 everything works fine , except is still show ---/1.1.3 .
It does not show 1.1.0/1.13 like before , and cannot use the de s/f port that was eneable with last firmware 2.1.0
Anyone know how to fix this ? do I need v1.1.0 to install first ?

@@TweetFPV I use 2.3.9 and I try different methods with power of with battery connected and removed , From frsky they suggest to use dfuse demo but it not recognize my radio as dfu device. I use Stm32cubeprogramer and this software does not support DFU files , bin files are installed ok.
With the 3 switches boot loader mode I cud install both bin or dfu files, but did not change anything is still show ---/1.1.3
Maybe the first version 1.1.0 cund fix this problem?!
It sounds like you need to update your receivers. The receiver fw needs to match the transmitter fw. I'm assuming you have a x9d 2019 radio.
@@TweetFPV x9d 2019 se . I used the latest firmware when this issue started . When I recover my radio was on R9M module and looks ok until I change to internal module and start to get antenna warning every 5 sec , I thought I was to blame because I open the radio few time to investigate why is not starting. after downgrade the fw of radio and receivers every thing work just fine .

I get no audio at all.
There is a volume adjustment in the system menu. Also you won't get any sounds without a sd card and the Sd card contents.
