Living near to Brentwood it’s really nice to see local trains , a lot of railway videos are centred in and around the West Coast main line for obvious reasons . Cheers mate , I’ve just subscribed and I do realise that your filming areas have to be varied .

Glad you enjoyed it. My usual range is anywhere that my Freedom Pass will take me. I'm based in Bromley so anything nearby is third rail.

    Your 6V12 loco was 59103.
As a side note, 4L36 Wentloog at F/Stowe, 66502 was put on the front at Acton, as 66592 was reported to have run out/ too low on fuel to complete its journey.

Thank you for this information. I wondered about the Wentloog.

    Enjoyed your video
Regarding your comment about not seeing any class 315 units, I was at Shenfield the previous evening and I rode a 315 to Liverpool Street
I posted my own video of it

@@maimadha There are a few of them still in service along with the 345s along the Liverpool Street to Shenfield, currently they only run on weekday peak services on of which is the 15:38 off Shenfield. From what I’ve read they are looking to be fully out of service by atleast May 2023!

I think most of the Class 315s have now gone. Now its just the Class 317 and Class 321 remaining on Greater Anglia.

Class 315s on Greater Anglia were gone ages ago when they were transferred to TfL in preparation for Crossrail/Elizabeth Line.
Of the older GA fleet the Class 317, 321 & 322 still remain slowly being replaced by the incoming Class 720s.

@@jeffrotino5895 Indeed. I be sad to see the Class 321s go as more Class 720s are in service.

Very interesting video, however, I should point out that your topographical facts are not quite correct. The summit of the bank is not at Shenfield but at Ingrave (19 miles 20 chains from Liverpool Street, west of Princes Way footbridge) which is just under a mile to the west of Shenfield. So down trains are running downhill into Shenfield and not still climbing. That's why the London-bound Class 66 heading the Freightliner intermodal train at 9'19" is most certainly under full power because it's heading a 1600 tonne train up a 1:136 gradient, evidenced by the amount of exhaust being emitted (9'37"). FYI the eastbound climb to Ingrave Summit starts in earnest just to the east of Harold Wood and is much steeper at gradients of up 1:85

I was trying to describe the steep climb up from Brentwood. In the natural course railways rise and fall at a reasonably benign rate. It is only the occasional steep or sustained climb that is particularly notable. My eyes told me that the steep climb ends at Shenfield. I was also taking into consideration that the LNER quadrupling scheme ended there.

@@BoogiesTrains No problem. It's still a very interesting video!

I use a range of reference books and online resources when researching my videos, both before and after filming, but I don't have a gradient profile except for a couple of routes. I think I will need to put one on my wish list for Christmas.

How do you know the running numbers of the train, eg 2w25

    • @BoogiesTrains
      @BoogiesTrains  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

All available on Realtime Trains for 7 days afterwards. I sort by actual running time and then match to the time stamp on the video clips. I keep a PDF of the information for future reference.
