Ahhh I’m so stoked you’re daily vlogging Summerween! 😍👻 I can’t wait to catch up on all these vlogs! Your personality is so magnetic and I love the way you edited this video 🥹💖
You have no idea how excited I got when I saw reading vlog and then a number! That means multiple Ali vlogs close together 🎉 you’re my fave booktuber right now and give me motivation to read, seriously ❤️
Ok so now that you have read Needless Street, you need to read Looking Glass Sound! I feel like she matures so much as a writer and imo Looking Glass Sound is much better
I really enjoyed Sundial by Catriona Ward. Haha, WTF was that barrel in the park? Some sacrificial site or something! 😂 Love seeing the sights around you 😍
i agree with the explanation part but i also did enjoy it bc D.I.D is such a fantasticized disorder and i feel like it did a good job of explaining everything in a way that is true to the disorder.
I do definitely agree with this! loved how it wasn't just a villain story, it was very fairly psychological. I was actually scared at first that it wasn't going to be handled well 👀 but she did a good job with it. Also her author's note going into her research was so touching 🥺
@@AliDoisRead i agree. some people didn’t like the authors note but with all the horrible media over the years about DID i really feel like this did some justice go a very misunderstood disorder. my biggest complaint about the book is using mental health/disorders as a “twist”. feels similar to a twist being that a character is trans or queer. It feels a little gimmicky when you use something so serious and so important to people identity as a “gotcha” type thing in writing, film, etc
@@picklejuice2 ugh I felt that way with pretty little liars…. 😳 if you know what I’m talking about. Actually they did this several times!! Icky. But also damn I can never hate pll 😂
Last House was such a disappointment to me - really dislike the disability/mental health rep. Didn’t love having that be the “twist.” You explained so eloquently a lot of my other critiques as well!

“Why emo me loved it” SAME White Oleander was a fave of my sad girl era 😂
Your cream and milk stood a CHANCE to survive tho! I promise
I love your personality! I don’t know how to describe it in English but you seem like a fun and silly person 🥰
Sending love from Germany ✨
🥹 thank you!
So random but omg I had that same faux fur pillow from Target! I spotted it and. HAD to highlight it. So soft

also the new hair is stun, meant to comment that on the last vid!
This is so sweet thank you!! Hope your reading is going well!
lol thanks!!
I wasn't shocked about the ending either. The solution reminded me a lot of the horror movies I love from the 80s and 90s.
Ooh interesting!
Blue Sisters is amazing! I got my signed by coco in real life and that is her signature!
Omg!! I’ve never met an author in the flesh before, that is so cool
im soooo excited for this vlog!!! and yes that's truly how the inside of Shakespeare and Company looks like 🥺 its magical in there
yay!! I can't even imagine 🤩 it looks like a dream!
Ok so now that you have read Needless Street, you need to read Looking Glass Sound! I feel like she matures so much as a writer and imo Looking Glass Sound is much better

You need to do it FOR SURE!!
Love this and cant wait for the rest of the weeks vlogs!
Thanks Sasha!! 🫶
Yayyy can’t wait to watch your vlogs!! And lol I kinda want to know the twist now since I don’t think I’ll ever read it
thanks Becca! And haha you should read it!!! or like read the first chapter and tell me your guesses 🤣
i think it's a real signature. Shakespeare and co does a lot of author events.
omg!!!!
Yaaaas daily Ali vlogs but also, please don’t stay up until almost 4am every night 🥺❤️🙏 mummy Meredith worries about you 😂
Yes mummy!! Also lol typing that out all I’m picturing is 🧟♂️ lolol
I really enjoyed Sundial by Catriona Ward. Haha, WTF was that barrel in the park? Some sacrificial site or something! 😂 Love seeing the sights around you 😍
I definitely want to check out her other books!
LOL I was so weirded out! 😂
i definitely saw the twist for The Last House on Needless Street coming from the start BUT - it’s still my favorite read of the year so far!
i agree with the explanation part but i also did enjoy it bc D.I.D is such a fantasticized disorder and i feel like it did a good job of explaining everything in a way that is true to the disorder.
I totally see that!

Stay far away from the “ween” barrel! 😂
Lmao that was wild!!
lol at our teen emo selves loving white oleander - I reread it a few years ago and still liked it, hopefully you will too
Teen emo me would crawl out and slap me if I gave it anything but a five star again 😂
the last house was tor nightfire imprint launch book. so that's cool
oh snap that is cool! I had no idea
I’m trash, I would of still drank it 😅
lol I thought about it 😂
the theme of this video is lol 😁
LOL you are so right 😂 [lol]
I really hope you get a chance to pick up Someone You Can Build a Nest In - weird monster romance fantasy horror I want to hear your thoughts
Ok send Ali to France 2025
I am sure I’ll be getting to it during summerween or I’ll die trying lol because I REALLY liked the first chapter 🤩
LOL
I've been to France and I'm sorry, but it was disappointing 😔. People are really rude. But I bought beautiful books in Shakespeare and Company 🤷♀️
oh nooo! that is so sad to hear 😢
Last House was such a disappointment to me - really dislike the disability/mental health rep. Didn’t love having that be the “twist.” You explained so eloquently a lot of my other critiques as well!
I love hearing everyone’s opinions on this book! I bet it would have made a *great* book club discussion for people
😻
