jewelry making Kunzite gem mounted on 18KT gold pendant

As often happens lately, when creating the 3D model on the computer for presenting a personalized jewel to the client and giving them the possibility to decide if they like it before producing it physically, I take advantage of the computer designs to laser-cut the necessary pieces. All the steps that you will find in the video can also be achieved using a fret saw and without the use of laser soldering for spot-welding the various pieces. Nonetheless, the finished jewel retains all the characteristics of the metal, akin to work done entirely by hand. Through my videos, I simply aim to share potential techniques for working with precious metals. I am grateful to all the people who show interest in my videos.

The laser welder is from the Italian company SISMA, which produces excellent equipment. On the other hand, the laser cutting machine is of Chinese origin, purchased through a well-known online sales site. The cost is much lower than the machines offered by specialized companies in the production of equipment for jewelers. However, the downside is that you have to deal with all the problems arising from the installation and calibration of the software and components.

In part, yes. Since the gem is tall for a pendant, with the risk of flipping once worn, I needed a broad but at the same time light support plan. The jewelry of that period often displayed these characteristics.
